362 | pagan influence? | Bible general Archive 1 | jlpangilinan | 82033
Quote"The trinity as a teaching that started to develop in the 2nd century and was completed in the 4th century. This development was influenced by pagan ideas and ever since people have tried to prove the trinity from the Bible. The Bible is clear, it speaks of: 1. God the Father 2. Jesus as the Son of God, never 'God the Son' 3. Holy Spirit is constantly shown to be a power or force that the Father controls. It is His power, in Gen 1:2 it is 'the Spirit of God' that hovered over the waters. Never is the Holy Spirit called 'God the Holy Spirit'. end of Quote. You are right never speaks of "Jesus Christ God the Son" but it clearly speaks of "Christ is God" Even God the Father said that His son is God: Heb 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Heb 1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Now are we going to believe this or not, if we believed that Christ is God then there is now to God! Our mathematics is different from God's mathematics, many could be one for him. Joh 17:11 ¶ And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. We can be one with Them. God bless, |

364 | Why did the walls of Jericho fall? | 2 Kin 2:19 | jlpangilinan | 81821
It falls because of the power of God. I put here an entry in EASTON BIBLE DICTIONARY about jericho I hope it would helps Jericho place of fragrance, a fenced city in the midst of a vast grove of palm trees, in the plain of Jordan, over against the place where that river was crossed by the Israelites (Jos 3:16). Its site was near the 'Ain es-Sultan, Elisha's Fountain (2Ki 2:19-22), about 5 miles west of Jordan. It was the most important city in the Jordan valley (Nu 22:1; 34:15), and the strongest fortress in all the land of Canaan. It was the key to Western Palestine. This city was taken in a very remarkable manner by the Israelites (Jos 6:1-27). God gave it into their hands. The city was "accursed" (Heb herem, "devoted" to Jehovah), and accordingly (Jos 6:17; comp. Le 27:28-29; De 13:16) all the inhabitants and all the spoil of the city were to be destroyed, "only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron" were reserved and "put into the treasury of the house of Jehovah" (Jos 6:24; comp. Nu 31:22-23,50-54). Only Rahab "and her father's household, and all that she had," were preserved from destruction, according to the promise of the spies (Jos 2:14). In one of the Amarna tablets Adoni-zedec (q.v.) writes to the king of Egypt informing him that the 'Abiri (Hebrews) had prevailed, and had taken the fortress of Jericho, and were plundering "all the king's lands." It would seem that the Egyptian troops had before this been withdrawn from Palestine. This city was given to the tribe of Benjamin (Jos 18:21), and it was inhabited in the time of the Judges (Jg 3:13; 2Sa 10:5). It is not again mentioned till the time of David (2Sa 10:5). "Children of Jericho" were among the captives who returned under Zerubbabel Ezr 2:34; Ne 7:36). Hiel (q.v.) the Bethelite attempted to make it once more a fortified city (1Ki 16:34). Between the beginning and the end of his undertaking all his children were cut off. In New Testament times Jericho stood some distance to the south-east of the ancient one, and near the opening of the valley of Achor. It was a rich and flourishing town, having a considerable trade, and celebrated for the palm trees which adorned the plain around. It was visited by our Lord on his last journey to Jerusalem. Here he gave sight to two blind men (Mt 20:29-34; Mr 10:46-52), and brought salvation to the house of Zacchaeus the publican (Lu 19:2-10). The poor hamlet of er-Riha, the representative of modern Jericho, is situated some two miles farther to the east. It is in a ruinous condition, having been destroyed by the Turks in 1840. "The soil of the plain," about the middle of which the ancient city stood, "is unsurpassed in fertility; there is abundance of water for irrigation, and many of the old aqueducts are almost perfect; yet nearly the whole plain is waste and desolate...The climate of Jericho is exceedingly hot and unhealthy. This is accounted for by the depression of the plain, which is about 1,200 feet below the level of the sea." There were three different Jerichos, on three different sites, the Jericho of Joshua, the Jericho of Herod, and the Jericho of the Crusades. Er-Riha, the modern Jericho, dates from the time of the Crusades. Dr. Bliss has found in a hollow scooped out for some purpose or other near the foot of the biggest mound above the Sultan's Spring specimens of Amorite or pre-Israelitish pottery precisely identical with what he had discovered on the site of ancient Lachish. He also traced in this place for a short distance a mud brick wall in situ, which he supposes to be the very wall that fell before the trumpets of Joshua. The wall is not far from the foot of the great precipice of Quarantania and its numerous caverns, and the spies of Joshua could easily have fled from the city and been speedily hidden in these fastnesses. 365 | Any extra-biblical references to Meroz? | Judg 5:23 | jlpangilinan | 81819
Meroz a plain in the north of Palestine, the inhabitants of which were severely condemned because they came not to help Barak against Sisera (Jg 5:23; comp. Jg 21:8-10; 1Sa 11:7). It has been identified with Marassus, on a knoll to the north of Wady Jalud, but nothing certainly is known of it. Like Chorazin, it is only mentioned in Scripture in connection with the curse pronounced upon it. EASTON BIBLE DICTIONARY God bless, |

367 | Is having a TV unbiblical? | Matt 24:14 | jlpangilinan | 81115
No! TV indeed is a big tool for preaching the world of God. Having TV of course has advantages and disadvantages. It can corrupted the minds of young ones if you dont guide them in a proper channels. It also a tool for evil if you use it in viewing porno movies. But in proper using TV is a tool to preach a gospel. Too many tv programs now reach distance preaching the word of God. TV could a help preaching the gospel all nations: Mt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Mt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. 368 | Daniel and Joseph both types of Christ? | Gen 6:9 | jlpangilinan | 81105
In the New Testament he is referred to as the representative of the law and as a type of Christ (Joh 1:17; 2Co 3:13-18; Heb 3:5-6). Moses is the only character in the Old Testament to whom Christ likens himself (Joh 5:46; comp. De 18:15,18-19; Ac 7:37). In Heb 3:1-19 this likeness to Moses is set forth in various particulars. There are person walked with God and perfect: Ge 6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. 1Ki 15:14 But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days. Job 1:1 ¶ There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. God bless, |

369 | creamation in the bible | John 12:17 | jlpangilinan | 81103
It is not specifically mentioned that it is wrong to be creamated. But the Christian has thier own way of buried dead. Christ was buried in the grave and not creamated. Moses was buried by God and not creamated. Lazarus also was buried in the grave and not creamated Joh 12:17 The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record. The bone of Joseph was carried to the land of canaan from Egypt they dont just creamated it. Ge 50:25 And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence. God bless, |

371 | salvation for children | Ps 72:4 | jlpangilinan | 80834
Children is unskilful in the word of righteousness Heb 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. Sin means transgreation of the law, children are innocent from this: 1Jo 3:4 ¶ Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Christ gave the example that we have to be like children to enter the kingdom of heaven. Mt 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. There is no specific verses that mentioned that were thier spirit go to, we will find out if we already there. The Catholic believed that there are place such as limbo although it is not biblical. I did asked this that thing to the priest but they indeed cannot expalain that place and where it located. God bless, |

372 | Who killed Adonijoh and why | 1 Kin 2:13 | jlpangilinan | 80828
Adonijah my Lord is Jehovah. (1.) The fourth son of David (2Sa 3:4). After the death of his elder brothers, Amnon and Absalom, he became heir-apparent to the throne. But Solomon, a younger brother, was preferred to him. Adonijah, however, when his father was dying, caused himself to be proclaimed king. But Nathan and Bathsheba induced David to give orders that Solomon should at once be proclaimed and admitted to the throne. Adonijah fled and took refuge at the altar, and received pardon for his conduct from Solomon on the condition that he showed himself "a worthy man" (1Ki 1:5-53). He afterwards made a second attempt to gain the throne, but was seized and put to death (1Ki 2:13-25). Easton Bible Dictionary God bless, |

374 | Did Jesus go to hell? | 1 Peter | jlpangilinan | 80324
Yes! His dead body remain in "hell" or grave in three days. Lu 24:46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: One of the many definition of "hell" is Sheol or grave: (1.) Sheol, occurring in the Old Testament sixty-five times. This word sheol is derived from a root-word meaning "to ask," "demand;" hence insatiableness (Pr 30:15-16). It is rendered "grave" thirty-one times (Ge 37:35; 42:38; 44:29,31; 1Sa 2:6, etc.). Quote "He says to the man next to Him that he will be with him in paradise" end of quote, it seems that luke 23:43 means that He promise to the person "today" now that this person will be with Him in paradise. You are right that he rtemains in grave in three days after that Christ resurrected. It is a promise my friend not on that hour itself. God bless, |

377 | does God know all things? Genesis 22:12 | James 2:21 | jlpangilinan | 80282
Do you suggest that what you picture in your mind is not pictured by the author of the book? Moses wrote this way: Ge 18:20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; Ge 18:21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. The Lord said this to abraham. "and if not, I will know" The Lord said not He knew it already, moses wrote the same thing. If the Lord said that to abraham "and if not, I will know" but He knew it already does this God a liar God? If moses knew that God knew it already then he still wrote that way, moses is a liar too. If moses wrote that way because he dont know if the Lord God knew already about the cry of sodom, then it seem that you are better than moses because you you know that the Lord knew it already the things that moses did not. Again you did show me the passages that the Lord knew it already even before He go down. I want to focus on that verses. God bless, |

378 | Angels have free will? | Is 14:13 | jlpangilinan | 80212
The angels has free will, that is why satan do what he thinks right for him. The human as we know has free will, but after the judgement we are not capable of sinning anymore, therefore there is no chance of rebel against God if we are in His kingdom already. After the war in heaven dragon and his angel cast out, the angles that followed satan are numbered third part of angels. After that I am sure there are no more angels will leave God otherwise the third part will change it could be one half or more. Re 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, Re 12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. Re 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 379 | does God know all things? Genesis 22:12 | James 2:21 | jlpangilinan | 80209
Ray, Can you show me the verse that stated that God knew the result even before He tested the faith of Abraham? If God really knew everything how can you explain this verses: Ge 18:20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; Ge 18:21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. Can you show based on this verse that God knew already the things that He want to know at sodom before going down. God bless, |

The desciples did it also: Ac 14:23 And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed. It is not only the pentecostal taught it today, oneness and even Catholic practice that recurrently. God bless, |
