I understand better than you, because of what I have been telling you all along. I have the Holy Ghost. Do you think you know yourself better than He. You know what Discernment is? It is one of the gifts of the Spirit. You know as well as I, that I did not lie.

Hank, it is from me. Isn't it reasonable to request which post you are referring to. BradK toke the position of postulate in post 144078. It was under this premise that I answered him. And under this premise, what right do he have to be insulted. However, I would not have answered him in such a faction otherwise.
225 | Can anyone explain? | 1 Cor 12:13 | jcsav | 120699
In the upper room on the day of pentecost Jesus baptised them with the Holy Ghost. From that point on, they had the Holy Ghost indwelling in them. That is what still happens today. But, there are those who disagree. That is what happened to me.
226 | jcsav, Don't we receive Him at salvation | 1 Cor 12:13 | jcsav | 142742
That is not what the Scripture is saying. You can not see the Kingdom of God until you are born of the Water and the Spirit. It is not possible to be born before this. Unless you see a difference in born again and being saved. You receive the Holy Ghost when you repent and is Baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins. Just as Peter said. Why are you guys always looking for another way? When you obey this, no, there is nothing else to do, on your part. The Lord will fill you with the Holy Ghost (Spirit). If he do not, then you have not fully repented or for whatever reason he is waiting. |

229 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140197

230 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140224
What the Paul is saying is that not everyone has the "Gift of Tongues". These individuals can speak at will and the Spirit is subject to them. The individual that receives the gift of the Holy Ghost, also speaks in other tongues at the filling. This do not mean they have the "Gift of Tongues" but that they have indeed received the "Holy Ghost (Spirit) You see this in the book of Acts. This is not subject to the individual. This is the Baptism of the Spirit or born of the Spirit, that Jesus spoke of. Paul is instructing those with the gift of tongues on how to behave in service and even gives the reason why. Who can instruct God on when to Baptise someone with the Holy Ghost? Hope this helps.
231 | Is speaking in tongues THE only sign? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140254
We are not talking about a sign of a believer. We are talking about the sign of one being filled with the Holy Ghost. Did Peter say in Acts 2:38 ...believe and you shall recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost. No. Can you believe and not recieve the Holy Ghost? the answer is, Yes.
232 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140257
That is what I said. Read what I wrote again. The gift of tongues is under the speakers control. The speaker when they are being filled with the Holy Ghost is under Gods. That why they speak as the spirit of God gives them utterance.
233 | Is praying aloud together Biblical? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140265
You are speaking of the Gift of tongues. Not one being filled with the Holy Ghost. You would not know the difference if you walked into the Church and God was filling them or refilling them with the Holy Ghost. Or that they had gifts of tongues and was exercising their gifts, in violation of what Paul instructed.
234 | Is praying aloud together Biblical? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140266
Paul never called the Church services trash. Even when they did not do things correctly. He instructed them on what to do. I think that's very disrepectful.
235 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140270
Will you please tell me where in Scripture I can find,"We are saved when we ask God in our hearts, repenting of our sins, and believing in Christ for the remission of our sins." One of the places that comes from is me. But I but it this way. You must be born again of Water and Spirit. If you want to receive the Holy Ghost you must obey Acts 2:38. |
