141 | jcsav, Was it just Peter who was afraid? | Matt 8:26 | jcsav | 143382
Mat 10:38-39 Joh 13:37-38 Joh 21:15-19 Read these in as given. It came to mind how Jesus when he saw Peter, said, "Thou are Simeon the Son of Jona; Thou shall be called Cephas, which being interpreted, a Stone." This was from his Omniscience. At that point in time it did not apply to Peter's character. |

142 | jcsav,The gift of the Spirit preaching? | Acts 2:14 | jcsav | 143356
Peter was given the gift of Apostleship. Yes, he could and did preach. To Preach, one must be sent by God, to do so. That is not to say, that every Preacher is sent by God.
143 | Why do they prey for the deads salvation | 1 Cor 3:15 | jcsav | 143340
Colin, An excellent book to answer all you question is "You and Your Bible", by Evangelcal Training Association. 1) The early copy of Septuagint did not contain the apocryphal books. (That is were the 66 books of the Bible (Today's bible) comes from). 2) The Roman Catholic Council of Trent in 1545,when the Romanists, in opposition to the Protestants, insisted that the Apocrypha was inspired. (Note: It would seem that that it happened in opposition to the Protestants and not because of any reaction to the Protestants. 3) It is my understanding that the lay-Catholics of that period was not allowed to interpret or in some cases read the Bible. They went along with the Church's Leaders. 1) and 2) information was taken from "You and Your Bible" by Evan. Training Association. 3) and Notes was added by me. |

147 | jcsav, What to you mean? | Acts 9:3 | jcsav | 143248
Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, (Note; this is water baptism) and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.(Note; this is the Spirit baptism). Let me ask you is baptism of God or Man. If it is of God. Can you continually disobey God and be saved? If you get into advance study of the bible then you would know that "Believing on the Lord Jesus Christ" include obeying what he wants us to do. It is you responsiblity to judge for youself what that is.

151 | jcsav, What to you mean? | Acts 9:3 | jcsav | 143220
Acts 2 is talking about both. The Water baptism and the Spirit Baptism. This is what Jesus meant about being born of the Water and the Spirit. Why would God make the rules different for Cornelius, than he would us. Note; Cornelius was filled with the Holy Ghost, spoke in tongues. Then Peter ask the other Jews that was with him, Act 10:47-48,"Can anyone forbid or refuse WATER for BAPTIZING these people. And he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ...." (Amplified)
152 | jcsav, What to you mean? | Acts 9:3 | jcsav | 143218
If you have a problem with my "as far as I know" then I will say Boldly and with confidence that he did not. If I speak too boldly someone always call me arrogant. But that was my mistake, God knows.
153 | jcsav, What to you mean? | Acts 9:3 | jcsav | 143216
The Scripture said that Jesus did not Baptize anyone with water. What more do you want. Jesus baptizes with the Holy Ghost (Spirit). Do you have another view on what "water" is?
154 | jcsav, Are the disciples excluded? | Rev 21:8 | jcsav | 143215
The only disciple that we see that was deilos as revalation meant the word was Peter. The closest word I can find in English mean "cowardly." OR not willing to risk ones Life. All fear is not cowardly. And as you see the Lord forgave him. Also, you see Peter being one of, if not the first one, After they had received the Holy Ghost (Spirit) to preach the Gospel with boldness. The disciples did not die "deilos" or cowardly.
155 | jcsav, What to you mean? | Acts 9:3 | jcsav | 143210
Searcher, I do not see your point. John 4:2 reads,"Thought JESUS HIMSELF DID NOT BAPTIZE, but HIS DISCIPLES." Were you reinforcing what I had said, by pointing out this Scripture. Or is there something I missed?
156 | jcsav, Do you agree with what Doc said? | Matt 6:9 | jcsav | 143160
I do not know what "power of tongues" mean. If the lady statement have been, "if you say the name "Jesus" (I can't say how many times)out of a repented heart. Chances are very great that you will receive the Holy Ghost and you will speak in tongues as the Spirit of God give utterance. I believe the lady knew what she was speaking of but there are some problems with the statement as it stands. I also would not recommend that anyone try this.
157 | How important is God's Name? | Matt 6:9 | jcsav | 143146
Doc, the old lady told you correctly. If you call upon the name of Jesus Christ with a repented heart. You can recieve the Holy Ghost.
158 | jcsav, Are the fearful believers? | Rev 21:8 | jcsav | 143127
Lionheart, there is a reason The "Amplified Bible" do not simply use the Concordance meaning of Hebrew and Greek words. These studies is for beginners, not advanced studies. "You and Your Bible" by "Evangelical Train Association, states that "This is not substitute for actually reading Greek or Hebrew, but it is a great help". You can not interpret scripture by looking up words. You must have the Holy Ghost (Spirit).
159 | jcsav, What to you mean? | Acts 9:3 | jcsav | 143103
Searcher, The point that I was making is that God works though His Agents. He sent Ananias to Paul not only to heal him but to Baptize him. My reply was to the statement that the only Agent need was Jesus. As far as I know, Jesus have never baptized anyone with Water. |

I love 2 Timothy 2:15 also. Some have tried to use it on me before, as a rebuke. But I especially Love where it says ..present yourself to God Approve. Note: It did not say man.
