521 | Must a woman have long hair | 1 Corinthians | inmyheart | 71135
EdB, That is true. Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. Do the women at your church practice having long hair? If not, why not? God bless |

528 | Are any of us are right?? | 1 Cor 1:10 | inmyheart | 81551
Are any of us are right?? NO! We have a sinful nature. Isaiah 64:6, God says our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. However, God loves us, John 3:16, that He sent His Son to die in our place. Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) Also written in Ephesians 2:10 "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto 'good' works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." God bless |

531 | Why Didn't Paul and Jesus Baptize? | 1 Cor 1:17 | inmyheart | 50414
Hello Tim, This commentary is from Blue Letter Bible, which articualtes much better than I can explain; 1Corinthians 1:14-17, Paul is grateful he did not happen to baptize more in Corinth and thereby add more fuel to the partisan debate a. For Paul, preaching was more importnt than baptizing, though not opposed to it. b. "While therefore it is unscriptual to make baptism essential to salvation or a certain means of regeneration, it is nevertheless a dangerous act of disobedience to undervalue or neglect it." (Hodge) c. How did Paul preach? Not with the wisdon of words ("cleverness of speaking) d. Paul came speaking plainly, without any attempt to dazzle with eloquence or intellect; this may have been a change of his previous approach in Atherns (Acts 17:16-34 i. It's had to say if Paul was disappointed with the results in Athens or not. ii. Remember also that Paul was in Athens a day or two; he stayed in Corinth for a year and a half. Jesus baptized in the Holy spirit. |

532 | Beleiving and Knowing | 1 Cor 1:21 | inmyheart | 161137
Life and Death! 1 Corinthians 1:21 (New King James Version) For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not "know" God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who "believe." I knew there was a Christ, but I didn't know Him until I believed in Him. We are not knowers (is that a word), we are believers. inmyheart |

533 | Beleiving and Knowing | 1 Cor 1:21 | inmyheart | 161226
Great scripture, but there are knowers in the pews, in the choir, etc., who are not believers! When a person becomes a believer, then he will know. God bless inmyheart PS Great to hear from you again! |

534 | is smoking a sin? | 1 Cor 6:12 | inmyheart | 161393
If smoking is demonic, then so is chocolate cake! Like any addiction, it will be a process (Romans 12:2). When a person is saved, their souls are elevated to a higher standard of living, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1), therefore, our minds are now in the process of being renewed to that higher standard of living. The power to change is in the Higher Power, Jesus! God bless inmyheart |

535 | Can I divorce my wife for her neglect? | 1 Cor 7:3 | inmyheart | 66459
NO! What God has joined together let no man put asunder, Matthew 19:6. What you must understand is that God has a plan for your lives, and for you to interup that, God hates, (God hates divorce). With God, all things are possible, He can change your situation around. You are to love your wife as Christ loved the church, to the point of laying your life down for her. This is going to take some work on your part, just like God worked on your life! I suggest that you seek counsel from your pastor and get involved with other Christian couples or a marriage builders group. Let me add, I'll be agreeing with you in prayer for your marriage, this is what the family of God is for. Let's give glory to God for the things He has done and will continue to do in our lives. God bless. |

536 | Is depriving encouraging adultery? | 1 Cor 7:5 | inmyheart | 66462
mpa, Get involved with your wife. This situation did not arise overnight, it's been going on for sometime. However don't let the devil rob you of your blessings and throw you marriage away by committing sin (adultery). The turn around in this situation might not come overnight, but stay in there and work on your marriage, in the long run you will be happy that you did, and God will honor your prayers. There may be others who will give you encouragement, but it starts with you. God will never leave you nor forsake you, His plans for you are not to harm you. God bless |

537 | This is Bible study in real life. | 1 Cor 7:5 | inmyheart | 66689
MPA, Ecc.12:14, For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. 1. There is a judgment to come, in which every man’s eternal state will be finally determined. 2. God himself will be the Judge, God-man will, not only because he has a right to judge, but because he is perfectly fit for it, infinitely wise and just. 3. Every work will then be brought into judgment, will be enquired into and called over again. It will be a day to bring to remembrance every thing done in the body. 4. The great thing to be then judged of concerning every work is whether it be good or evil, conformable to the will of God or a violation of it. 5. Even secret things, both good and evil, will be brought to light, and brought to account, in the judgment of the great day (Rom. 2:16); there is no good work, no bad work, hid, but shall then be made manifest. 6. In consideration of the judgment to come, and the strictness of that judgment, it highly concerns us now to be very strict in our walking with God, that we may give up our account with joy. My friend, don't let the devil lie to you any longer. God is your only solution to your situation. God has given you this ministry, it's not yours, and you are accountable for it. There is only one thing to do, the Right thing. You do have someone to grieve with, us, we are your family. When a family member hurts, we all hurt. Only your family members will be open and honest with you. You already know what to do, just do it, and let God set you free. I leave you with this verse; Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I'm praying for you, that God will continue to fulfill the purpose He has for your life and take you to your destiny that He has prepared for you. God bless |
