283 | Punishment for the Traitor / Friend? | Ps 55:20 | inmyheart | 84901
Just Read Mark, I answer in part, as the whole context would take too much space: David prays for God’s help in a time of trouble. We are not given in this psalm, or in the inscription, the occasion that prompted these prayers, but we know that at the root of the trouble was the betrayal of a close friend. This would suggest that the occasion of the psalm was when David’s trusted counsellor, Ahithophel, betrayed David and joined with Absalom, David’s own son, in rebellion (see II Sam. 15:12). When we encounter passages in the Bible about betrayal, we should pay special attention, for there is a great possibility that the passages contain a prophetic reference to Judas’s betrayal of Jesus, since "the volume of the book" is about our Lord Jesus Christ. David is convinced of the bloodguiltiness of his foes, their treachery amplified by their feigned friendship: "My companion attacks his friends; he violates his covenant. His speech is smooth as butter, yet war is in his heart; his words are more soothing than oil, yet they are drawn swords" (vss. 20-21). The contrast between David’s own righteous behavior in the situation versus the wickedness of his foes convinces David that God will take his part: "Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall. But You, O God, will bring down the wicked into the pit of corruption; bloodthirsty and deceitful men will not live out half their days. But as for me, I trust in You" (vss. 22-23). Oh, praise be to God that we can "cast our cares on the Lord." May we ever fervently seek Him in times of trouble. May we walk in His ways, and not be corrupted by the sins of the wicked who battle against us, so that in righteousness we can seek His help, and trust in Him for deliverance! God bless |

290 | Deliverance what is the Criteria? | Prov 11:14 | inmyheart | 48487
My Friend, I call you my friend because I also was in bondage to drugs and alcohol. In fact your testimony sounds like mine! Psalms 1:1 says "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungoldly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful." I have been completely set free from drugs and alcohol for 2 years. I am not a counselor, but I was an addict, I know the maddness and everthing else that goes with it. Anyway as I was saying, Psalms says don't walk in the counsel of the ungodly, God put it in my heart not to get counsel from people who aren't Christians, and only from those who know what they are speaking of, because there are a lot of people who mean well, but they miss the mark. The solution to our problems was drugs and alcohol, the wrong solution. The problem is within, and the solution is Jesus. You say Romans 7:15-25 is your theme song, why not Romans 7:24-25? Listen, can I get back to you? Or contact me at glorod7@aol.com, I have an appointment to get to, and there is much more I would like to address here, ok! Your post caught my eye and I wanted to touch bases with you. Yes there is HOPE, and you know the Lord, and He is bigger than that addiction you have been carrying around for all these years. God Bless you real good. |

292 | could this woman of contentions be a ch | Prov 25:24 | inmyheart | 163165
It's my understanding that the man (or Woman) should have known what he/she was getting into before the two married. All marriages have their moments, but they are working on resolving issues. but the contentious man or woman, is not so, therefore, a person should not be unequally yoked (2Cor.6:14). It is not to say that the woman may be in a early maturing stage, and down the road the relationship will get better. inmyheart Mat. 19:26 |

Searching for Truth, The Source and Origin of Sickness. In a very real sense, all sickness began because of sin. Physical death itself had started because of the sin of Adam: “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned” (Romans 5:12). Many individual instances of sickness had occurred since then as a direct result of specific sins. For example, after having healed a man who “had been an invalid for thirty-eight years” (John 5:5), Jesus said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you” (John 5:14). Although sickness itself had started due to Adam’s transgression, this is not to say that every instance of sickness is due to a specific sin that the individual has committed. In John 9, when Jesus and his disciples came across a man blind from birth, the disciples asked, “Who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” (v.2).Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned” (v. 3). In other words, not every instance of sickness can be traced back to a particular sin. However, even if a particular instance of sickness is the direct result of a sin that one has committed, the word of God says that there is forgiveness for such a one. James 5:15 says, “The prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.” We should be careful before determining the spiritual reasons for someone’s sickness. There are a number of reasons and it may not be a sin, so do not judge a person base on limited and inaccurate information. The person may not have sinned. He may have contracted the sickness and allow it to remain due to lack of wisdom or ignorance of the Scriptures, or some other reasons. God bless |
