The enjoyment of being on this forum is having the fellowship through answering a persons question. If we follow your post, and its not a bad suggestion, there would be little interacting. Or if you are tired of reposting the same answers, take a break and let someone else handle it. I appreciate what you have posted. I have read others who have said "use the quick search," however this sounds too impersonal. Someone maybe asking a sincere question, and when they get a response like "research it yourself," they may feel rejected. And yes, I'm aware of the terms of use, this is my opinion. And there are those who want answers for their bible studies without taking the time to study it for themselves, but so be it. God bless |

463 | what's the name it claim it theory? | Gal 5:22 | inmyheart | 57865
Estelle, 1 John 5:14-15(NIV) says, This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask (name it) anything according to His will, (promises is the Bible) He hears us. And if we know that He hear us-whatever we ask-(naming it) we know that we have (claming it) what we asked of Him. Even though this phrase "name it and claim it" may seem too bold for some Christians to do, God's Word is true and sure, and we can trust what He says, because he will NEVER lie to us! God has provided so much for you and me, and he wants His children to have an abundant life-so "go for it" (from tgm ministries) Now concerning God promises, I'm reading out of 2Corinthians 1:18-20, But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not "Yes" and "No." For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by me and Silas and Timothy, was not "Yes" and "No," but in Him it has always been "Yes." For no matter how many promises God has made, the are "Yes" in Christ. And through Him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God. So we see that we ask "ALL" things according to His will. God Bless |

464 | Jesus departed into Galilee | 1 Corinthians | inmyheart | 57864
New Creature, No, we don't have to assume any other possibilities, John 7:1 reads, "After this, Jesus went around in Galilee, purposely staying away from Judea 'because of the Jews' there were waiting to take His life." (NIV) It was because of success, not failure, that led Jesus to depart from Judea (the Jews opposed Him) God Bless |

465 | Jesus departed into Galilee | 1 Corinthians | inmyheart | 57819
It wasn't that Jesus departed because of water baptism, but He departed to avoid the pious Pharisees, into Galilee by way of Samaria because they needed to hear the Word. God Bless |

EdB, I said that I support the movement that you and others reject. I'm not "caught up" into anything that you write of. I'm not following a Jim Jones movement. You write that "you must present the truth," I know the truth as Jesus answered in John 14:6. If you know anyone who is caught up in what you described in your post, by all means, do reachout to them. Thank you for your concern and for you reply. God bless |

May God not continue to heal you, but that He is touching and healing your family as well. Rest up my friend, and may you have strength as an eagle. God Bless |

468 | cult by what definition? | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 57546
EdB, Greetings, and thank you for responding. I was actually posting, only, to In the Andes. I also support the movement that you or any others may reject. With so many views and beliefs on topics such as; Baptism, Holy Spirit(Ghost), Rapture(pre-mid-post), etc., a person must make a stand. But the bottom line is that the evidence of God in a persons life is...LOVE! For an example, you may agree or disagree on my views, and vise-versa, but I not going to be, and I don't expect anyone else to be critical. However, my main reason, if you must know, was to point out what the last paragraph, and particularly the last sentence of the article, which states, "If you desire to have life and peace, stay with the Word of God and stay away from those who make it their life's work to critcize others." Once again, thanks for responding. God bless |

470 | DELIVER MY MIND | Rom 12:2 | inmyheart | 57345
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his DELIGHT is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates DAY and NIGHT. Psalm 1:1-2 (NIV). The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take cative every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5(NIV) When the devil attacks you with thoughts, cast them down. Tell that lying devil that he's already defeated, that you are a new creation in Christ Jesus, that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. If he brings up your past, tell him that before this world was created you were with God! The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10 )NIV) You have great promises from the Lord, He has promised that He will never leave you nor foresake you, and that He will be with you till the end of the world. My friend, get into a good bible study group and learn the Word of God. See if your church has an accountability group. But most of all, STAND, and RESIST, and the devil will flee from you. That's God Word. You are more of an threat to the devil than he is to you! God bless you, He loves you! |

471 | Hurting words, hurt people? | 1 Tim 6:4 | inmyheart | 57343
justme, I believe that the Lord has the last hand in what you speak of. When you post to others, are you impacting their lives? And at the same time isn't your own life being impacted? When the Lord Jesus spoke from the cross and said "Forgive them for they know not what they do," Well guess what, it still applies today. I'm not condoning that a person should be insensitive or even down right rude, but our heart should be set on praying for these individuals.(or you can report an abuse) I encourage you my friend to "Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage-with great patience and careful instruction." 2Timothy4:2(NIV) God bless you justme, it's always my pleasure to correspond to you. I know you will do God's will concerning this matter. |

473 | What does "In the name of Jesus" mean? | John 14:14 | inmyheart | 57144
No one said that if I did end my prayers with the words "In the name of Jesus" that God wouldn't hear or answer my prayers. John 14:13(NIV), "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. Before I even ask the Father, He knows my thoughts. So, if I ask in the name of Jesus at the beginnig or the end of my prayers, He still answers. The Lord's Prayer does NOT end with the words "In the name of Jesus," but then I don't pray the Lord's Prayer word for word either. Thank you for responding, I'll try reading the article that you posted. |

474 | What does "In the name of Jesus" mean? | John 14:14 | inmyheart | 57034
Greeting Cyclist, I also end my prayers "In the name of Jesus." God the Father(provider), has not only heard my prayers, but has also answered my prayers. I submitt to you this web site for your study; www.tgm.org/exampray.htm This outlines the Lord's Prayer. Be encouraged, "Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." 1Corinthians15:58 (NIV) "That you faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God." 1Corinthians 2:5(KJV). God bless |

476 | does this mean we aren't born of God. | 1 John 3:9 | inmyheart | 56875
Elice, Please read 1John 3:7 and 8, then verse 10. This will keep you in context of your question. John here is simply emphasizing what it means to be born again; it means that a change comes into our lives - it is a change that will be worked out into every area of our lives as we grow in Christ, but it is a real, obeservable change. God bless |

477 | How do u stay pure but have pleasure | Phil 4:8 | inmyheart | 56688
Yes there is a way. Jesus says that He is the "WAY", the truth and the life. Sex outside of marriage is sin. Hang out with those who are staying sexually pure! God bless |

479 | What if you don't obey that command? | Rom 6:4 | inmyheart | 56675
Yes, you are probably right, however, there are also many people, still being baptized, this same hour, in this century. The point my friend is that even if a person waits days, weeks, months or years, they 'are' justified and righteous, because the Father calls them so. Can they still be saved? yes, The Father says yes, in John 3:16. I don't believe I am presenting a compromise here, because it's not for me to judge, whether a person is baptized immediately or sometime in the future. Everyone is responsible for their own salvation, as spoken of in Philippians 2:12. Baptism is an act of obedience, not an threat of seperation. God Bless |

480 | the use of nations? | Matt 28:19 | inmyheart | 56414
Coffee, I agree with Morant61, Paul uses the term for Gentile Christians, for Matthew 28:19. However in my research of "ethnos" I find the following difinitions also; of or relating to large groups of people classed according to common racial, national, tribal, religious, linguistic, or cultural orgin or background. And last but not least, being a member of "ethnic" group. Matthew 24:7, Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. I don't believe that the Bible is speaking of Gentile Christians(ethnos) here, I believe that in this time of the end time, "ethnos", is speaking of nationalities against nationalities (ethnic groups), as we are seeing taking place today in the middle east. This makes more sense than, for an example, China against Russia, or any other nations. That is a good question, maybe someone else would like to comment, or add some revelation to this word "ethnos". However, it's late and too early for coffee :) God bless |
