401 | How to Knowing God more deeper | Romans | inmyheart | 62397
Rom 10:17 So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (KJV) Hello lialia 1212, what you are looking for is called growing and maturing in the Lord. We are to seek God daily through the reading of His Word. God will take the "hard for me to understand," to easy. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is EASY and my burden is light." Matt.11:28-30. Let me encourage you to be a student of His Word 2Tim.2:15 God bless |

Mae64, God's blessings! I have learned that I can't do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Meaning if I go beyond the leading of the Holy Spirit and get caught up in things that I shouldn't be doing, well I suffer the consequences. But, while I'm "in" a situation doing the will of The Father, I can do all things and Christ will be my strength. Romans 8:28 says all things happen together for the good, to them who love God and are called according to His purpose. When my sister was dying in the hospital I saw no good in that. But "in" that situation God healed her, our family came back together, because we allowed God to have control of the situation and our lives. I said all that, because beyond what you can see,(for we walk by faith, not by sight), God will do the impossible, He knows the desires of your heart. The devil may have cornered your son, but he's is a place where he can cry out to God, and as I have said before, let every man be a liar, but let God be true, God will respond. Yes, I'm in agreement and praying for you and your family, as many others are. God bless you my friend. |

404 | Speaking in Tongues and filled with Holy | 1 Corinthians | inmyheart | 62354
Paul's most plain meaning is that the gift of tongues is not for every believer, for whatever reason; great damage has been done in the church by promoting tongues as manditory of real Christian living or as the evidence of the Holy Spirit's presence. Though the Holy Spirit gives the gifts, "it is good and proper for us to desire them," "and to ask for them--all in submission to the plan of God." Therefore, if you choose not to seek the gift of tongues, and your interpetation is fine line because you lean to the "not to speak" in tongues, that is all well and good, but wisdom will say not to call speaking in tongues as you put it "gopplygook." God bless |

405 | I used to look forward to coming here | 1 Cor 14:33 | inmyheart | 62282
christian7, Greetings to you my christian friend. Let God take you through this point of your growth. I quote from these two scriptures; "But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved" Hebrews 10:39 (NIV). "But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that you labor in the Lord is not in vain." 1Corinthians 15:57-58 (NIV). The majority, (I pray), are your brothers and sisters here on the forum. At times we bump heads, as we have, and will, but this is still good training ground for us all. Can you see the fight in the dark world that we face daily, but glory to God we have the victory, we know our savior Jesus. This forum in no way compares to the people of the world. Remember what 1Cor.1:18 says, that the preaching of the cross to them who are perishing is foolishness, but to US who are saved, it's the POWER of God. I'm here to say that the devil is a liar, your best days and your blessed days are still ahead of you, so stay and be a blessing to others. God loves you and so do I! God Bless P.S. God didn't call to be the victim of your circumstances. but to be the victor over your circumstances. |

406 | What is the Crown of Life | James 1:12 | inmyheart | 62280
A blessing for those who endure temptation a. This sounds like one of Jesus' Beatitudes; there are at least fifteen allusions to the Sermon on the Mount in James; it comes from a man who knew the teaching of Jesus and took it seriously. b. Temptation is one of the various trials (1:2) we face; as we persevere through temptation, we are proved (tested), and will be rewarded as the work of God in us is evident through our resistance of temptation. c. "The crown of life" promised by the Lord reminds us that it really is worth it to endure under the temptations we face; our steadfastness will be rewarded as we demonstrate our love for Jesus by resisting temptation. 411 | what does this verse say?1thes4:16 | 1 Thess 4:16 | inmyheart | 61911
1Thes. 4:15-16 says; (15-16) Those asleep in Christ are not at a disadvantage a. By the word of the Lord emphasizes that this is an authoritative command, whether Paul received this by direct revelation or if it is an unrecorded saying of Jesus; it comes from Jesus, not Paul b. The Thessalonians were afraid that the dead in Christ would miss out, but Paul assures them that those gone on before them won't feel cheated at not being on earth when Jesus comes back to this earth, because the dead in Christ will gain first benefit c. The shout here is the same word used for a ship's master to his rowers, or a commander to his soldier; "Always there is the ring of authority and the note of urgency." (Morris) d. What does it mean that the dead in Christ are gathered with the trumpet of God? In the Old Testament, trumpets sounded the alarm for war, and threw the enemy into a panic (in the sense of the seven trumpets described in Revelation 8-9); or the sounding of trumpets called for an assembly of God's people (as here) e. How are the dead in Christ raised first? Do they have "temporary bodies" now, or are they disembodied spirits? Or do they get in on the resurrection right away? i. We don't really know for certain; these things were written not to satisfy our curiosity, but to comfort and get us ready. Courtsey of blueletterbible.com God bless |

413 | spirit in prison | 1 Peter | inmyheart | 61649
Lourdes, I went to blueletterbible.com to bring up this commentary on the verse that you seek. God bless (19-20a) Through godly suffering, Jesus has preached to the spirits in prison a. Apparently, this work was done in the period after Jesus' death, but before His first appearance as resurrected to the disciples; Jesus went to Hades - the abode of the dead - and preached to the spirits there b. Are these spirits demonic spirits or human spirits? Their disobedience was in the days of Noah; we have evidence that this was a time of gross sin for both demons and humans, when there was an ungodly co-mingling of humans and demons (Genesis 6:1-2) c. Why would Jesus preach to these imprisoned spirits? In all probability, this was preaching (the proclamation of God's message) but not evangelism (the proclamation of good news); Jesus probably preached judgment to these disobedient spirits i. In this, there is a completeness is Jesus' triumph over evil, even the evil occurring before the flood ii. The Bible says that even those under the earth must acknowledge Jesus' ultimate Lordship; here Jesus was announcing that fact: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth (Philippians 2:10) d. Some feel that this preaching was done by Jesus to the people of Noah's time, in Noah's time; when Peter refers to their imprisonment, he refers to their current state, not their state when Jesus preached to them - preaching through Noah (or Enoch) i. "This passage, once cleared of misunderstanding, should also function today as an encouragement to us to be bold in our witness (as Noah was), to be confident that, though we may be few, God will certainly save us (as he did Noah), and to remind us that just as certainly as the flood eventually came, so final judgment will certainly come to our world as well, and Christ will ultimately triumph over all evil in the universe." (Grudem) e. Other feel that this preaching offered a second chance to those demonic spirits who were imprisoned at the flood (but the Bible knows nothing of such second chances) i. "Before Christ came, they had not heard the Gospel of God's Reign. . . . But at Christ's preaching they repented like the men of Nineveh; for it is said that angels subjected themselves to Him [verse 22]" (Hart) |

retxar, Thank you for your answer. My line of thinking was that "the Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak," that in these days the Spirit will be poured out on all of our flesh that is weak, then what is spoken in this verse will come to pass. Once again, Thanks. God bless |

retxar, Does it simply mean ALL FLESH, or "all of our flesh." Meaning, is the Spirit being poured out on, lets say, Bin Laden and other such flesh? Just some thoughts, thanks. |

Yes, it's great not to be afraid; 2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Praise Jesus for His Mercy and Grace, God will use your testimony. God bless you abundantly!!! |
