823 | Does red calf born 3-02 have any meaning | 2 Thess 1:1 | gracefull | 76350
www.templeinstitue.com has an article. Apparently this is a kosher acceptible sacrifice. There are Orthodox Jews who have been accumilating all the various artivacts necessary to use in the new temple when it is built. The birth of a acceptable sacrifice 'could' point more to end of time prophesy regarding the rebuilding of this temple where the antichrist will stand up and proclaim himself to be God. Pre Trib believers believe this will take place in mid tribulation and that the temple will be built in the first 3 and 1/2 years of the tribulation. |

Go into Yahoo and type 'red heifer' in keyword..there is an abundance of info out there. A Jewish teacher at visiting our church said it was not actually born in Israel, but I do not have facts for this. God bless |

Interesting response Taleb. What is your interpretation of 11 Thess. 2:3-4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. What temple do you suppose this is speaking of? Also let me ask you this question? Why do the Jews intend to build another temple? Why do they already have a prepared cornerstone? Candlesticks? and numerous temple artifacts? And why do they care about a red heifer being born if they do not intend to offer it as a sacrifice? (not saying they will or that this is the one they will eventually use)The Jewish (orthodox)community sees this red heifer as a sign. Your response should be aimed at the strict Orthodox Jewish community who interprets the scripture as there is to be another and they are preparing to build it. They believe when it is built Messiah will come to rule. God bless |

Hi Taleb.. Your post makes seems to make some assumptions so let me close with this. The question was 'what significance is the birth of the red heifer'. My position was from the perspective of the ones who do see it as significant, the Jewish sect that is working toward rebuilding the temple. And from the perspective of New covenant believers who believe this fits Bible prophesy concderning the end times. And your perspective was simply from the position of the New covenant church in regard to Old covenant practices.Which is absolutely true. Jesus was the final sacrifice.(However, this Jewish sect does not accept Jesus as the Messiah and is looking forward to resuming the Old covenant sacrifices in order to 'bring' Messiah) I believe this fits prophesy and I guess you do you do not. I believe I have answered the original question and do not care to continue a 'prophesy' discussion. God bless |

Thank you taleb, for the kind words. I simply try to listen to the Holy Spirit, because all else is vain, and can even lead to divisions. My goal is to learn and teach that the body will be edified. I have learned that the Holy Spirit works well in a atmosphere of peace, and not at all where there is strife. God bless, |

829 | Women whosay "God called me to pastor | 1 Tim 2:12 | gracefull | 89146
cherrilee, Go into quick search and read the various threads. There is much said on the subject. I believe the best comment I would make to you would be to let love rule in your relationshp. Each time you are troubled in your mind and heart, pray the prayer in Clossians 1 for your friend in faith believing, doubt not. The call and the annointing to teach is acceptable for a woman in most church bodies. So I question the interpretation of a woman should not teach nor usurp authority 1 Timothy 2:12. The term usurp authorty means to take by force or without legal right. This does not mean a woman does not or can not have the legal right, but she should not usurp the authority God has placed over her(husband first, then pastor). God will not bless a spirit of rebellion in a woman or a man. We as children of God are expected to recognize and submit to the authority God has chosen to place over us. My suggeston to you is to not allow the enemy to place a wedge betwen you and als to alw the Holy Spirit to closely examine your own heart in the matter. Acts 5:38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: 39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God. 830 | Is the bible literal? | 2 Tim 3:16 | gracefull | 92851
Hello Journey, The scriptures are God's Words spoken through men. These words were given for instruction for mankind. 2 Timothy 3:15-17 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. These words are TRUTH. Besides them, there is no truth. John 17:17 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. The scriptures were given for man to live by, and not simply live here in our carnal life but these Words are spiritand life. These Words lead to eternal life when mixed with faith. Hebrews 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Do these Words transcend time? Yes. There are no NEW sins, no NEW temptations, no NEW truth. 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. There is only one way to PROVE the above claim in this life...believe it, walk it, see God be faithful. God's Truth cannot be REASONED away or REASONED factual. His Words produce life in the lost when believed and received. 1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Does this answer the question, or would you like to be more specific? God bless PS Literal means believing God meant what He said and every scripture is God breathed. At least that is my understanding. |

831 | Sola Scriptura-A False teaching | 2 Tim 3:16 | gracefull | 94494
Once upon a time...surely you don't really believe this stuff? This is what fairy tales are made of! Excellent Berean statement! Is there no love to prompt you to reach out? Acts 17:10-12 10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. 12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few. 1.What prompts us to ridicule and mock the belief of others? It is NOT Godly love. Jesus died for those we mock. 2.Does our mocking promote trust among those we need to teach? 3.Are we mocking what they believe and not them? No...we cannot. Our beliefs are what make us who we are. They are what gives us a sense of purpose. 4.Does mocking the beliefs of others solidify our own beliefs? No, sharing and revisiting our beliefs and the source of our beliefs so as not to let them slip solidifies our beliefs and also leaves us open for correction and teachable. Considering these points, I see no valid reason for such a disgraceful response to someone God may have led to this forum for guidance or maybe even, God forbid, to teach US something. Matthew 7:12 12 "In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets. God bless |

832 | WHY DON'T WE TEACH THE CROSS? | 2 Tim 4:3 | gracefull | 92991
Hank, Good answer. God is not surprised. Mankind has done this since the beginning. You probably know better than I and might could comment on the phylosophies that were permeating the early church even while the Apostles lived. As I am only beginning to study the history of the early church I do not feel adequate...but these phylosophies of today are certainly not unique to the times. God bless |

833 | Offering? Or having offered... | Hebrews | gracefull | 88246
Hi Emmaus, If you would, please give further comment to the statement below. Specifically offering (present tense) his sacrifice to God. "The heavenly Liturgy is still real with Jesus as our eternal High Priest always interceding for us and offering his sacrifice to the Father." According to Hebrews 10 Jusus presented Himself once and sat down... there is no further offering sacrifice. Although we do have to ask for forgiveness when we sin, the sacrifice for that sin was made already. I know the Holy Spirit Old Covenant Hebrews 10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. New Covenant Hebrews 10:10 By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; 12 but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD, 13 waiting from that time onward UNTIL HIS ENEMIES BE MADE A FOOTSTOOL FOR HIS FEET. 14 For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. |

834 | Meaning and significant of pot Heb.9:4 | Hebrews | gracefull | 88248
4 having a golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was a golden jar holding the manna, and Aaron's rod which budded, and the tables of the covenant; These are items the Hebrews placed in the Ark of the Covenant, and were to remind them continually of the care and provision and law of God, the Ark itself signifying His presence. The manna-Exodus 16 Aaron's rod-Numbers 17 (tribe of Levi chosen as priests) Tablets of the commandments-Exodus 34 The significance of chapter 9 over-all is this.. The Ark of the Covenant signified the presence of God. God came behind the veil to receive the sacrifce of blood for the sins of the people offered by the High Priest. NOW under the New and better Covenant, Jesus has gone in to the Holy of Holies in Heaven (Hebrews 9:23) as our High Priest and as the sacrifice for our sins, thus opening the way for us to enter the presence of God without killing us. 7 but into the second, only the high priest enters once a year, not without taking blood, which he offers for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance. 8 The Holy Spirit is signifying this, that the way into the holy place has not yet been disclosed while the outer tabernacle is still standing, Is this what you are looking for? God bless |

835 | Offering? Or having offered... | Hebrews | gracefull | 88249
I agree that the blood is continually effective, but offered only once. I believe this is important because as humans we need to clearly understand that His sacrifice was once, final and total. "If Revelation 4 and 5 does not depict a heavenly Liturgy with all the elements found in shadow in the earthly Temple, I don't know how else to describe it." I agree that the earthly tabernacle was patterned after the Heavenly. In Revelation 4 and 5 I do not see the repeated application of the blood on the alter. Purhaps you could direct me to a verse or verses which you derive this conclusion. There is a repeated worship of the Lamb, but the application of the sin offering according to Hebrews 10 was only once..for all. God bless |

Got it... Repeated and Ongoing are not the same, that was all I was getting at. I am a little particular about certain word choices. Youg believers can get really confused by things like that. Thanks for the chat! God bless |

837 | Searching for the truth | Heb 1:2 | gracefull | 76190
Hebrews 7:22 Also this shows a better covenant of which Yeshua has become guarantor. Hebrews 8:6 But now the work Yeshua has been given to do is far superior to theirs, just as the covenant He mediates is better. Hebrews 10 16 " 'This is the covenant which I will make with them after those days,' says ADONAI: 'I will put my Torah(law) on their hearts, and write it on their minds...'" God is not mad at us, He did everything in the Old Covenant to bring about this better New Covenant. What the Old Testament saints would have given to have the Spirit of God in them leading them personally! God has not taken away what is better, but has provided what is better. Ask Him to show you this in your spirit. |

838 | Searching for the truth | Heb 2:4 | gracefull | 76009
Robert, there are those with other gifts, prophetic, discernment, healing, word of knowledge, etc. however since they are not as 'noticeable' believers, media, critics, don't pay them much attention. Tongues is very visable and receives the most criticism. When the Holy Spirit gives a word of knowledge it is usually between the gifted person and an individual. Example...Someone I know was at a restaurant when the Holy Spirit told this person to go to a complete stranger at another table and tell them the intense prayer of their heart was about to be fulfilled, and to not lose hope. A few weeks later we were all invited to a 'singing' by a visitor to our church so we went. While we were there a lady came hurrying up to us and told her husband.."This is the lady from the restaurant! The one who told me God was going to answer my prayer." Then she turned to my friend and said that God had indeed answered her prayer for a lost uncle she had been interceeding for. Did the world see? Was the church involved? No, but the gift was present. Though many speak in tongues, not that many have the Gift of tongues. But all can have the prayer language which is really what most are seeking. AGAIN the GIFT of tongues for the edification of the body is different from the personal prayer language available to every believer. One MUST seperate the two. 1 Corinthians 12:10 Gift for the edification of the body 1 Corinthians 14:12-14 Prayer language also, the Holy Spirit chooses who receives what gifts, and places it on the heart of the believer. If I desire a gift for personal glory, God did not place that desire in my heart and will not give me the gift. He choose who receives what gifts and When He wants them to manifest. God bless |

839 | In Heb 4.1....What is (His Rest) | Heb 4:1 | gracefull | 84165
"Heb 3:14 For we have become fellows with Christ (the Messiah) and share in all He has for us, if only we hold our first newborn confidence and original assured expectation [in virtue of which we are believers] firm and unshaken to the end. Heb 3:15 Then while it is [still] called Today, if you would hear His voice and when you hear it, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion [in the desert, when the people provoked and irritated and embittered God against them]. [Ps. 95:7, 8.] Heb 3:16 For who were they who heard and yet were rebellious and provoked [Him]? Was it not all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses?" Based on the context of chapter 3 and 4, I believe entering that rest is two fold. The initial rest is to rest in the righteousness of Christ, as ours is as filthy rags. AND I believe that resting is a continual process, based on verse Heb 4:12- For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart." To me, rest is living by faith in whatever God's Word says, thus both entering the New Covenant through Christ Jesus and living IN that Covenant through Him as well. God bless |

840 | Does this include holding fast to His | Heb 4:14 | gracefull | 75439
Since healing was provided in and through the atonement, our confession of faith in Jesus finished work, slavation, healing, deliverance mean holding to the truth of the word of God through faith in Jesus finished work. He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement needful to obtain our peace was upon Him and by His stripes we were healed. Read on through verse 15 and 16. Because we have this High Priest, let us fearlessly and boldly approach the throne of grace...As God Meditate in the truth of the word, and stand fast! God bless |
