161 | is this rider the anti-christ | Rev 6:2 | following him | 121781
Yes, Notice that his description does not match that of Christ. He is armed with a bow, and not a double-egded sword coming from his mouth. Also notice that there is close enough similarities to mistakenly think he is Christ. This will be what the Beast (Anti-christ) would like since he will try to put himself up as the messiah and God and will deceive the nations into thinking that he is.
162 | Rider -Jesus or Anti-Christ | Rev 6:2 | following him | 121780
I believe him to be the "Anti-Christ" Since he is not armed with a double edged sword from his mouth. Jesus is always presented as having a double-edged sword coming from His mouth.

164 | God is one | Bible general Archive 2 | following him | 121697
Forgive me for being so abrupt, I am sorry, Your original question to me seemed somewhat loaded. I realy am sorry. But to answer your question this verse is one of the foundation verses for the trinity doctrine. It indicates a plurality in God. One God yet three distinct persons. I dont know if anyone knows why God didn't use the singular in this case. Perhaps It was one of His first hints to us that He is far greater than we can realy comprehend. And that in turn make us realize we are very finite compared to him and have a great need for Him.

166 | Praying in tongues | Rom 8:26 | following him | 121685
No, I dont believe so! The Holy Spirit is quite aware of who or what you are praying for. There have been many times while I was praying that the Holy Spirit would urge me to pray about something but not tell me who I'm praying for. We have to trust (faith) that the Holy Spirit is guiding us in truth. If you pray in tongues pray also that you interpret by this I mean ask the holy Spirit to give you understanding about what you are praying. He may bring to mind a situation or a person but not fill in the details. I would urge you though dont pray just "willy nilly" in tongues, pray using the guidence of the Holy Spirit. First ask Him what issues are on his Heart then pray in the direction He leads you. Pray is a powerful weapon when guided by the Holy Spirit. But If the Holy Spirit is not in it it's just making noise. Remember if we ask anything according to His will He hears us. I hope this answers your question, sorry about being long winded. Blessing to you |

167 | Explanation of Mat. 9:14-17 please | Matt 9:17 | following him | 121677
I believe emmaus is correct. This scripture is not refering specifically to the Holy Spirit; although that may be part of it, but the entire New Covenant. Remember this was an answer Jesus gave to the disciples of John about the way they and the pharisees did thing. Jesus essentually told them that there was going to be a new way of doing things that did not fit within the parameter of the old covenant.
168 | Mark1:1 who does the Gospel begin with | 1 Cor 1:17 | following him | 121675
The Jews were waiting for the coming Messiah and one of the signs of His imminent arrival was the appearance of "One crying in the wilderness" John. This would perhaps from Marks point of view the beginning of the good news that the Messiah was finally going to show up. It does seem like a good place to begin at because they have been waiting for this specific occurance.
169 | Disciples will not die | Matt 16:28 | following him | 121671
This is a difficult passage. I'm not sure about it myself, but I've heard that some believe it refers to those who witnessed the transfiguration. I been thinking it may refer to those who in visions ie Paul's vision where he saw things he could repeat and prehaps John's vision on the Island of Patmos where He did see the Lord coming into His kingdom and descibed it in the book of Revelation. Just a thought.
170 | were is vese Jesus is Son of Ged | NT general Archive 1 | following him | 121664
Look at Matt 16:16. This is where simon Peter responds to Jesus' question; "Who do you say that I am?" Peter answers "You are the Christ, The Son of the Living God." Jesus tells Peter that it was God that showed that to him and warned His disciples not to tell anyone.
171 | Jesus waited until 30 to minister | Luke 3:23 | following him | 121571
The reference you gave in Numbers refers to the levites not the actual priest. The priesthood is from the house of Aaron not the house Kohath. Both are from the tribe Levi, but only Aaron and his sons can hold the priesthood. Besides Jesus is not a priest after the order of Aaron but after the order of Melchizedech. There is great deal of difference between the two. See Heb. 5:6, 8-10; and especailly Heb 7:11-28.
172 | Old testament proofs/prophesy of Christ | OT general | following him | 121551
You can start at Genesis chapter 3. It details the fall of man and also promises deliverance. In talking to the serpent God said He would put inmity between the woman and the serpent and between her seed and his. His seed will bruise her seeds heel but her seed would bruise his seed's head. This is in reference to Christ destroying Satan. But there are many others. Many are in the form of prefigurations ie prophecies acted out see Gen 22 for example.
173 | 40 Days | Bible general Archive 2 | following him | 121550
Luke 3:23 states that Jesus was about thirty when He started His ministry. We often take that to mean He was thirty years old. We know the He died in the year 33 AD so that makes Him 33 Years old when He was crucified. But the word thirty in Luke 3:23 actually mean the decade of thiry in other would it realy means He was somewhere in His thirties when He started. The Jews in John 8:57 may be supporting this when instead of saying you are not yet 40 they say you are not yet 50. These guys were adversaries and I can't imagin them giving Jesus the benifit of the doubt. John 8:57 is a weak example though to support Jesus as being 40. Lets go to the history books. We often assume that Christ was born in the year 1 AD; but Herod the great who was the particular Herod involved in the execution (murder) of the children in Bethleham, died in the year 4 1/2 BC. When looking for the child he assertained from the magi that the child was already about two years old. This is supported also by the meaning of the word child in Matt 2. Also the only census to take place near the time Christ was born took place in 7 BC. This was when Christ was born in a manger while his parents were registering for the census. If you count from 7 BC to 33 AD (do not count the year 0 there was no such year) you get 40 years.
174 | 40 Days | Bible general Archive 2 | following him | 121532
It is not just 40 days. It is the number 40 that seems to be significant. 40 days of rain, Israelites in the wilderness 40 years, 40 years of king Saul, 40 days of Jesus in the wilderness, 40 years of Christ living on earth. You will notice that after all these 40's there is deliverence or the fulfillment of promise. Noah is delivered (the rain stopped), the Israelites go into the promised land, King David begins to reign, Jesus is ministered to, we are delivered from the bondage of sin. There are many other examples. It seemsthe the number 40 is a number of deliverence. |
