Thank you Jeff I think I let my aggrivation get the better of me. I do love all my brothers and sisters, I will not try to block him. Your kindness is so very appreciated from the new 'cuddle' on the block ha ha I did post a question, do you think it would be one that would spark a reply from you? I need as many verses and historical ref. as you may have to support whichever side of the fence you are on. Cuddle |

I was replying to what is the church... Please hear me out, this was the very first thing I posted when i logged into the forum. I do value the need to book chapter verse when answering any question It was my opinion the person asking the question neede an answer that would not 'beat them up with Scripture' It was a mistake I now know not to post Scripture along with my response. I do feel the list of verses would have been a long one. My post in answer to "what is the church" was as follows: THe gathering of a group of believers who teach each other and others the Word of God in Love. now I am sure this not word for word, otherwise I would have copied and pasted, I merely want you to understand I was not trying to break the rules of the forum, I was to trying to answer with love. If you think I should refrain from this forum, please simply email me in private and I will chris@christinlogan.org In His Service, Cuddle |

I took your advice and went back into the logs searching women... I revised my question about women and now I wish I would have put a specific book chapter verse in the question...LOL In His Service, Cuddle |

Forgive me in seeming hostile....I am anything but. I did not express my response in a clear and loving manner. My only exuse is the newness to participation in forum discussion online. I am in agreement, I believe I should observe a bit longer, and ask qestions only, rather than respond, until I have a better understanding of the forum and how it 'works' In His Service, Cuddle |

I wish I could narrow it down to one, but I cannot. I think one word could cover everything...LOVE. What makes it difficult, is that even those of the world love.(Luke 6) The depth of LOVE when we beign to experience love from the Lord covers every aspect of life. Our thoughts, actions, habbits, what, who, where; it,love, is consuming. When we act outside of the experience of His Love and we give way to our flesh we realize more and more our NEED for HIM. Paul discusses this battle, and when I first began to study, I did not understand what he meant, and I am not sure I fully do today, but I do feel like I have experienced the struggle. I could list all types of things I have learned that are applicable, logical, and even awesome topics for discussion, but once they have been examined the common denominator will be LOVE. I know it use to anger me when I would hear people talk about the God of anger in the OT and the God of love in the NT. (those who believe the NT is the only one that matters) This would bother me because I do not believe God enjoyed destroying Sodom and Gomorah or drowning the earth or the death one human in battle. If we are going to accept ALL Scripture as beneficial(2 Timothy 3), we need to see that He did give chance after chance, discipline after discipline(or as I like to explain to my teenage daughter"grounding after grounding"). These were all in love. It was and is the human free will that chose and still chooses these measures of detruction. (Habakkuk 2:12-14) The justness of God would be a lie if He did not enforce His expectations. Love would be incomplete if it were not just, and the Lord is NOT in-complete. My rambling may seem child like and I am sorry if my response is not as deep or theoretical as a response some of the other people on this forum may give you, but my approach to Bible study is child like. I am HIS child, and while I do learn from the words and examples of people, the TRUTH I learn is from the Holy Spirit. 47 | OCuld not get to post as a note, help | NT general Archive 1 | cuddle | 180881
CDBJ, I know this is another simple and child like response, but I have only been a part of the forum for a few days; I got off on the wrong foot, and I am trying really hard to observe from the side lines to learn "how deep" I can go in answering questions, how much of my "opinion" I can include in my answers, and so forth, without being offensive to others in the forum or being offended myself to a response I may get from a post. I am not a "scholar" (though I am working on it) so until I am more comfortable with what is expected in this forum, my answers may not be what you would like as far as depth. I like being asked and asking, but again, I am still getting a feel for things. With all of that said,...John 3:16, and if you have a concordance or Greek to English dictionary, or some tool such as this(assuming you are not fluent in Greek), do a word study of the word BELIEVE. This I feel is a beginning at least, to answering your question. Please keep them coming. This way I get to participate in the forum and "get my feet wet" I will say It is strictly opinion, that we each experience a comfort and confidence in our relation with the Lord during different seasons of our life. Our experiences are what usually shape that comfort and assurance in our relationship with God. When we study His Word we gain a higher comfort level and dependance on His promises to those who BELIEVE. If you choose to take my advice and do a word study, please remember to check the tense of the word BELIEVE. I know it is sometimes time consuming to reflect on grammer as far noun, verb, adverb, etc., but it is worth it when we realize how much more we understand of this grand love letter of spoken communication to each of us from our Heavenly Father. 48 | reply | NT general Archive 1 | cuddle | 180906
Okay then you asked for it ! and if I get any nasty replies because of what I say I want all to know up front to send their comments to CDBJ...lol YES, I believe I have eternal life. I do not believe in once saved always saved, but I do believe that I am saved. I know because of my faith and that I believe Jesus Christ is the son of God and He died and rose again. I also believe that Heaven as we are taught from the pulpit is not accurate from what I understand the Scriptures to mean. I believe that if I were to die tomorrow, (unless Jesus has already returned before tomorrow)my soul will return to the dust and my spirit to the Lord where I will sleep until resurrected. I believe that I will live in the New Jerusalem as long as I do not forsake GOD. I know and believe this because that is what I understand from His promises in the Holy Scriptures. It is this active belief that keeps me from forsaking the Lord. When my belief, my faith, stands still that is when I will doubt my security in eternal life. So Heaven, NO (at least not awake) the new earth when Jerusalem comes down from Heaven? YES I can break all of this down with Scripture if anyone would like for me to, I would prefer not because anytime I get into this conversation face to face it is hard enough, I can only imagine how it would be in this forum. In His Service, Cuddle PS I keep trying to post my replies as a note instead of a question, but the system will not allow me. HELP |

49 | Luke 23:43....TIME? | NT general Archive 1 | cuddle | 182914
In Luke 23, when Jesus says "today", do you think He was saying you will be today in Paradise with me; OR do you think He was saying, "I am saying this today" I know this has been a topic before, HOWEVER we have many new peeps to the forum, and perhaps a fresh look an old question could be entertained? |

What was the origianl question posted about nephlium and sons of God? I have tried to trace the thread, but am not able to find how this discussion was started again. I know it has been discussed several times in the forum. I have done some research since the last I remember it being posted and would like to give my two cents :) I just want to make sure it is relevant to the discussion first |

55 | Genisis 6 man life expencty is 120 years | Gen 6:3 | cuddle | 182716
I am not sure if this is the answer, but I think it could be the way I understand the thing. I am not a scholar, and am constantly learning, and being corrected. With that said ...compare this verse in Genesis with 1 Peter 3:20-who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water. NASB Let that sink in for a minute..."during the construction of the ark." Noah did not build this thing in a day or two, it took time! Maybe it took 120 years. I mean, imagine it. These people had never seen rain before. God in His mercy was giving them some time to see He was not happy and something BIG was about to happen. I thank and praise Him He gives us time. I am even more thankful we can use the time to study His word together in this forum. Remeber, this question does not depend on your salvation, and I am sure there may be someone who can give you a more sound answer than I. (you and me both a more sound answer) It is a good question...made me use my noggin! In His Service, Cuddle |

57 | I disagree, I think we can glean much | Ps 68:11 | cuddle | 182305
Verse 11. Great was the company of those that published it. hammebasseroth tsaba rab; "Of the female preachers there was a great host." Such is the literal translation of this passage; the reader may make of it what he pleases. Some think it refers to the women who, with music, songs, and dances, celebrated the victories of the Israelites over their enemies. But the publication of good news, or of any joyful event, belonged to the women. It was they who announced it to the people at large; and to this universal custom, which prevails to the present day, the psalmist alludes. See this established in Clarke's note on "Isa 40:9". This is taken from Adam Clark Commentary So I do think the verse has something to offer to the women of and to the Body of Christ as whole today. This is a foundational verse for a talk I am giving in a few weeks. You would be surprized as to how many verses (both OT and NT) that connect to the thought of this verse implication. I think when we do a word study and pay attention to the root, gender, and tense we discover a whole new depth to much of GOD's Word. It is so exciting! |

58 | I enjoy reading his work, but.... | Ps 68:11 | cuddle | 182338
Thank you Doc! I have been reading and could not put my finger on what it was I found strange about about some of his writing. I have not read any biographies on him, I guess I was just too lazy! I just read, compare with what I understrand from the Holy Scriptures and go from there with my limited knowledge of original language. I usually spend more time on the same verse than the average bear, but I feel that is how I learn best and it stays with me. Thank you again for that tid bit of info about him though. Like I said I could not put my finger on it with some of the stuff I have read I just knew it was a little "colorful" for lack of a better term that does not slander. ha ha |

59 | Learning from one another in LOVE | Prov 27:17 | cuddle | 181108
Thank you to all that have participated in the 2 Thes. discussion. I love this forum. I am learning so very much. I can tell from several of the post that I am on the bottom of the 'scholar' food chain. I hope my comments remain to be "a breath of fresh air" for some of you. It is not my intention to mis-use Scripture by taking it out of context, please forgive me if that is what I have done. I have learned a lot during this discussion, and I will continue to examine the Scriptures (Acts 17:11) I cannot wait to see what the next challenging verse will be! In His Service, Cuddle |
