Hello Searcher, Thank you so much for your kind note. If you have read most of the thread...you are aware of the opposition that I came up against in this thinking. Briefly, it is not so much my son's choice to join that concerns me...rather, my concern is for him being involved in a war that is unholy...for lack of a better term. I will continue to pray for my son and for all the people who are serving in the armed forces. I am also counting on the prayers of others, like you, as well. I just have found nothing in the bible under the teaching of Jesus that allows war, even with our enemy. Everything is to the contrary. Thanks again for your note. Peace be with you. coop1 |

Hello charis, I invite you to read back over some of the responses to my message. And if by chance you do this...please do so with an open mind. I have been burnt at the stake here. Reported for posting my messages and told, "Arrivederchi, Coop1". Those messages have been restricted from the homepage and I have heard loud and clear..."we don't want to hear it". Why? Because I do not believe christians should uphold war, and took the time to explain...with scripture back up, why I felt that way. And yet, I was said to be the one who didn't want to hear another's veiw and was ranting about some political agenda. Their are many spiritual people out there who agreed with me however...and I thank God for them. I ask you to imagine God in heaven looking down upon us ripping at each others flesh and polluting His earth with smoke and fumes and noise and confusion...and His church accepting it and in some respects condoning it...without doing all they can do to end it and bring peace. We can pray and fast, we can speak up when the opportunity arises...we can take back our country and return it to God by getting involved in governing issues. We can nominate and elect those who profess God, and pray like crazy that we get more of God's people in office. We can vote "no" for issues that we know are against God. We can teach that war is wrong, show biblical evidence of it, and lead the way to victory. We can turn away from those who partake in blood shed, even if it is our own. And we can let our leaders know that we disapprove. We can go into the harvest fields with the breath of hope and faith and encouragement showing a new way to victory. A man cannot take his next breath with out the will of God. Why then would we need a weapon? Is not our God greater than the terrorist or the evil that drives them? Why NOT trust Him to do away with them and their evil agenda? All we need do is put on the armour of God, and that does not include any weapons of destruction. I am finished. May God bless All nations and peoples...coop1 |

4 | Do you think US has these people? | 2 Tim 3:5 | coop1 | 24787
Hello again charis, And greetings to you. You still don't understand. This is NOT a rant about America. This is in NO WAY political. I know that America is a democracy. I understand all that just fine. I am not running for office here. I have come with a message that has been given me, and I am speaking to the church. I am going to let it rest, because I see that know one is hearing. First, I must respond to your comments. While I very much agree with most of what you said, I regret that you said it with such a distasteful attitude. I am serving the church, or trying too...I am submitted to the land, but I cannot sit idely back while the elect of this nation is sucked into a spiral of hate and vengence. It is like this..if you want to condone fighting and war it is your choice. But you have been warned that there are others ways. I have spent 4 or 5 days here trying to get the message through...the message that all we have to do is turn to God. I would not want to be standing next to someone who has a gun or a bomb or any weapon of destruction in his hand and ready to strike, even his enemy, when the wrath of God is poured out. And if you are condoning it in spirit, your hand is at the handle already. We do not have to corrupt ourselves by violence against even our enemies. We do not have to raise the weapons of man nor are we called as Christians to do so. We must continue teaching the Kingdom of Heaven as it must grow from our earthly realm. We must walk with the gospel of peace shod about our feet. We must stand JUSTIFIED BY FAITH. We must lean on the promises of God in these evil times, that He will take care of us. That He will protect us from evil and be prepared to stand on that faith when we are given over for persecution. And when we come against our evil persecuters, we still have no need to strike back nor worry about what we should say, because God will give us what we need say. Except the trials you are going through as God's will and count them as dung in comparison to your rewards that wait for you in so doing. We need not fear evil, for our weapons are layed before us. We can overcome all matter of evil with our spiritual weapons. We do not have to fight as the heathen do. Our battle is against the principalities of evil not with flesh and blood. Pride goeth before a fall. I am sad that so much of it exist among us. To much even to learn from one another. To much to back down from a fight...which has been my point all along. We can not continue seperating the church from the governing laws. They are intertwinded no matter how hard we try to make them not. And while an important part of this equation is to abide and watch our personal lives...the other part of the equation is that together we are a nation, which needs spiritual tending too. For how can you care for the whole vehicle by only oiling one part? and ignoring the mass. Please do not forget, through ONE man sin entered in and through ONE man many suffered death. Evil grows. Bad character corrupts good character, not visa versa. You can kill the terrorist with your bombs, but you can't kill the evil with them. All you will do is bloody your hands. The fields are ripe for harvest. Pray for laborers. I for one will not be carrying a weapon of destruction on my heart, into those fields...only to taint the harvest. As for my "unkind" words to our president...I did not say a single word. I quoted a single scripture...Romans 2:3 And as "for peace for my soul"...that will come when the job is done, evil has been destroyed, and I am home with my Lord. coop1 |

5 | Do you think 2 Tim. 3:5 is nations too? | 2 Tim 3:5 | coop1 | 24732
Hi Waldo, I just wanted to elaborate on the point I was making that you responded to earlier. I am enclosing a response from another to that post. Please read further. You ask me if when the going gets rough in my own life, do I doubt God? The answer is a very solid NO. Nor do I doubt God in this situation in the least. That is exactly my point. I am troubled that we as a nation, collectively, have not turned to God in our response to the attacks. I would have been so much more comfortable with all of this, had I seen our leaders at some point, in some way...get down on their knees with us and for us...and have looked upward and cried out..."oh God, how would you have us deal with this attack? Forgive us our unrighteousness O Lord and guide our actions against our enemies." If I had the assurance in my heart that this was a God commanded physical fight...that "He" wanted us to pull out planes and bombs and guns...then I would not be having these doubts about our actions. But I don't have that. All of my reading of the word and praying and listening tells me that we are not doing as God would have us do. That is the part that concerns me, because if we are not acting as God would have us to...we are in a very dangerous place. And that we no longer live as 'one nation under God', but we are now more 'one nation under compromise' is a problem. It is a problem because, as we seek to issue justice out to the world...from what barrel do we get the right to do that...are we truly justified before God ourselves...with the righteouseness to do that job? I argue that by faith in the promises of God we are justified only, both personally and collectively. Therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ...by whom also we we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice and hope of the glory of God. Where is our faith? Does our nation truly have it's faith in God, obeying His word, waiting for His promise? Or is our faith in OURselves and OUR might? You are very right when you say this is a spiritual battle. It is evil that we are fighting here. Even if we were to kill Bin Ladin with our bombs...the evil spirit that drives him would live. And God will protect us from that evil if we look to Him and rest our faith in Him and His promises to protect those that truly belong to Him. It is the wrath of God that we need fear...not the evil, not if we are right with God. We shall be saved from the wrath of God through Jesus. By following His teachings. As a Nation under God, we need not fear terrorism or evil or Bin ladin or anything! If God be for us, who can be against us? In all these things, we are MORE than conquerors through Him that loved us. For the warth of God is revealed from heaven against ALL ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. Because that when they knew God they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God, into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beast, and creeping things. Wherefore God gave them up to uncleanliness through the lust of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the creator, who is blessed forever, Amen. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetouesness, maliciousness; full of murder, inventors of evil things, disobeying parents, unmerciful. And if I could say one thing to our President, it would be this: And thinkest thou this O man which judge them which do such things, and do the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? (Romans chapters 1 and 2) I pray you understand. coop1 |

6 | But What is it? | Deut 7:2 | coop1 | 24717
No I have never spoken in tongues. But I have heard people who have and I remember their being a great feeling of peace, (I was very young) As I too believe tongues is a gift, and probably reserved to the highly spiritual ones. I have resigned that I do not have it. However, my grandmother did and I know beyond the shawdow of a doubt that she was a true christian and worshiped God in spirit and in truth. But even if I had never had any experience with tongues, the Bible tells me that it actually does exist. I absolutely do not see how anyone could have the authority to determine that it was a one time thing, since there is no mention of this in the bible. coop1 |

7 | But What is it? | Deut 7:2 | coop1 | 24714
From whence come wars and fighting among you? Come they not hence even of your lust that war in your members? You lust and you have not: you kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: you fight and war, yet you have not because you ask not. You ask and you receive it not because you ask amiss, that you may consume it upon your lust. You adulterers and adulteresses, know you not that friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (James 4:1-4) |

Hello Martha, Again, I encourage you to "READ" 2 Corinthians 14, and the Book of Acts: "Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. For he who SPEAKS IN TONGUE DOES NOT SPEAK TO MEN BUT TO GOD, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries." 2 Corinthians 14:1,2 (NKJV) Please do not discredit anything that is spoken of in the Word of God because of a few rumors or untruths that you have heard. You must pick it up and READ it yourself and ask God for enlightenment. If you read these recommended pages and still do not believe in tongues...then you are in a postion to state your beliefs and why the Word spoke to you that they do not exist. Until then...you should stay quiet on the subject. Respectfully, coop1 |

11 | Do you think US has these people? | 2 Tim 3:5 | coop1 | 24643
Good evening Nolan, Very well said! It is not that I have a leading to abandon the United States...and like you...I am doing what I can do to change hearts with the help and grace of God. It is just that our self righteousness, as a nation, has been laid upon my heart very heavy. What I mean is, (and it is very hard to use constructive critisim on this issue without sounding like a trader or communist or nut case or something...I'm not doing a good job here), but what I mean is...well this new sense of forceful pride that we are seeing coming out of our nations tragedies. I see it as kind of...well, a snake...waiting to turn on us and devour. Please, let me try to explain. On one hand, the fact that we all have come together is very good. I think the terrorist attacks came as a much need wake up call and caused many to reconsider their priorities. Which is all good. I see another element taking effect here that concerns me deeply. We seem to becoming a more forceful, powermongering kind of people. And we are labeling it with titles like, 'good' and 'justice'. I truly believe that we (speaking generally) are really enjoying these attacks and bombings. We are enjoying war! Listen...My son is in the Air Force. And I am very proud of him. I feel as though we are contributing greatly to this cause. In all honesty, I could pay a very high price and my son...the ultimate price. I have him in God's hands, but God's will may be different than mine, ya' know? I am not afraid...but deeply concerned that he is partaking in something that is becoming very sinister. When this all started, I cautiously and soberly hung my flags out to show my support for my country and my son. But as time went by, and I listened closely to our government officials and to people at work and family and neighbors and my son...I realized that we are just taking to much pleasure in this violence and chaos. I mean everyone, including the blue haired lady across the street is practically parading and chanting..."kill 'em, kill 'em...yaaa!" While they wave their flags high. Every bubba in the nation has the American flag on one side of their truck and "kill the s-o-b's" on the other...speeding through town, slinging beer cans and shouting yahoo! I mean, this is suppose to be about "justice" and what is right....issued by a peaceable, Christian founded nation. And while that is all still being professed, I see underneath that is not really the case anymore. Now the American flag is a bit tainted to me. It no longer stands for all the things it use to stand for...to me. It is becoming something else. When I see the flag now, I wonder if like the majority seems...that person is so filled with anger and pride and revenge, they even have thought of how God might want us to deal with all this or a care of the death that will arise. Maybe it is like they all say and we must do away with him...although just writing that caused me some uncomfortablness...but should killing be so...joyful? I don't think taking someones life should be a pleasurable experience. Do you? I mean, would right hearts actually take pleasure in the fact that another human being, a creation of God must be killed? Please don't mistake that for a sympathy for Bin Ladin or his out fit or causes. But more a sympathy for mankind. And we are operating out of this...place, that I have described...and presenting ourselves like we are the purest people on the earth! I am deeply saddened by the death of our enemy and very, very saddened by the fact that our young men and women may loose theirs in the process. I really do believe that all we need to do is turn to God. He will take care of it. We can trust Him...and should He bellow down from heaven, "GO TO WAR"...than so be it. I do not feel like parades or waving flags around in celebration or even bragging up our country. I am ashamed of it in some ways. I am a native American. My grandfather was born on a Cherokee Indian reservation. And while the blood line has been removed a couple times..my roots are here on this land, and this land a part of my body. I don't know that there is a point to this. I just maybe needed to express it all. I have taken my flags down from my mail box and porch. And the ones in my heart are at half mast. I hope you understand. coop1 |

15 | Do you think US has these people? | 2 Tim 3:5 | coop1 | 24614
Hi Nolan, Thank you for your quick answer. Let me say first, I am sorry about your family...I have very similar stories and I think their are many people who have shared similar experiences. I know that helps ease your pain any...but sometimes it helps to know that "we are not the only ones". The good news is...as a Christian, you now have a new family, with a very bright future! I tend to agree with you that this could mean families and nations as well. I noticed when you were talking about nations you distinguished between those who persecute Christians or who have no resemblance to Christianity, but did not mention those who do practice Christianity? When I read back over the passage 2Tim. 3:5...I saw that it said; highminded, lovers of self, boasters, lovers of pleasure, unthankful, disobedient to parents, unholy ect...but did not see anything in that passage to indicate that this may only include nations that deny Christianity. What I am saying is, I think even nations who allow Christian worship can also contain people like these passages descibe. Would you agree? Look at America, we allow Christian worship...but we also allow no worship and the worship of false gods. We certainly have our fair share of boasters, and prideful people, lovers of pleasure and disobedient children, ect..wouldn't you say? I think that would be a hard point to question. Therefor, I would ask you...Do you think America could be one of those countries (in it's present state) that we could be called to turn away from? I know this is a hard question because it brings about feelings of treason on some level, and then there is the whole "submitting to the governing authorities thing"...but if you can, please answer honestly and from a spiritual stand point. And if you agree with this...than how do we do both? Turn away from a country...where we must obey the governing laws? Thanks...coop1 :-) |

Hi Tim... I know you just couldn't wait to get back to your computer and see my lovely name up there, huh? :-) I understand and agree with most of what you said, but I am a little confused in how you distinguished between, the Holy Spirit 'having us' and 'us having' the Holy Spirit? If all Christians have the Holy Spirit, where did they get it? Do we have to get it twice? Once upon salvation and then again as a gift? I am sorry...I am just a little confused. Just to pacify me...could you please take a sec to elaborate on that just a bit? I would greatly appreciate it...Thanks...coop1 |

17 | Do you think 2 Tim. 3:5 is nations too? | 2 Tim 3:5 | coop1 | 24601
Hi Nolan, Thank you for your response. I agree with your answer, also that the term 'end times' refers to the time period since Jesus ressurection. I would like to focus in on verse 5, if I may... we are commanded here to turn away from such a people as described in the above passages. "...having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof; from such turn away..." My question to you then is this...do you believe this could also mean our own family? And to extend that question just a bit further...do you believe it could also mean nations and peoples, opposed to just individules? I look forward to your comments. Thanks! coop1 |

18 | Is 2 Timothy describing modern people? | 2 Tim 3:5 | coop1 | 24593
Hello, In 2 Timothy, chapter 3...there is described the type of people that will arise in the end times: 1)This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2)For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3)Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4)Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God; 5)Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof; from such turn away... (KJV) My question is; Do you suppose this could be describing people right now in America and in the world? |

19 | But What is it? | Deut 7:2 | coop1 | 24589
Tim, We agree! I actually agree with you on this one! Well what do ya' know! :-) Sorry Hank, I thought you were Radioman...I mean I thought Radioman was you...well, you know what I mean, (he is mad at me anyway) Ok, so what about the other part of that? (ie: under 29, Well, first speaking in tongues...)My response to Martha. The baptism of the Holy Spirit. How do you see that? I tend to believe it actually is a two part process. The believeing and then the filling...which covers all three entities. Where by, we first believe on the word of God by Jesus and then become filled with the Holy Spirit. And ye shall RECEIVE POWER after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you,...and you shall be a witness to me in all the world...Acts 1:8 I am aware of the different veiws on this also, but was wondering about yours. Jesus said that in the end times they would have a form of religion but would deny the true power. That they would honor with their lips but their hearts would be far from him. I am thinking this denial is actually a denial of the Holy Spirit...which would explain why there are a lot of powerless Christians out there with a lack of the signs and wonders following them as described in Luke and in Acts.(don't get your feathers in an uproar, I say this repectfully) Was wondering about your veiws on this subject. Could it be that we, (as I believe are the latter generation and seeing the beginning of end times events take place quickly), could it be that the ones Jesus was refering to as denying the TRUE POWER is us? (which takes me back to whole point on this war...but we won't go into that) And that we are actually denying the Holy Ghost and the TRUE POWER of God? Tim, we have instant everything in this world now. Instant coffe, instant mail, and instant salvation. What IF it is not that instant, and we are denying the Holy Ghost in some way. What then? Do you suppose it is possible that God would actually want us to show a willingness to obey His word that we have believed on, BEFORE giving us the power to use it? Just a thought... coop1 :-) |

20 | But What is it? | Deut 7:2 | coop1 | 24576
Tim, I know that you were supporting my point. And I understand that the word 'unknown' has been added. But these words were not added lightly, and there for I do not dimiss them. Like your last note said, it is clear in the rest of the passage that this is a language used in speaking to God. Please understand my defensiveness, I am posting straight from the bible, and some would still find cause to argue. Last night, Hank posted a note, in what seemed like an effort to discredit that very verse. Seemingly insinuating that this 'unknown' language was actually others known languages. And well I understand that this does happen also, but it is two seprate things. And then Martha just said she outright don't believe in it. How can you not believe something right there in black and white in front of you? Anyway, I do enjoy these conversations non the less. coop1 |
