51 | Inmature babes unskilled in righteusness | Heb 6:4 | cloud | 97656
To understand Hebrews 6:1-6 you have to back up to Hebrews 5:12-14. The writer says here that Christians that need to be reminded of the first principles of the orcles of God are inmuture babies and still need milk because they are UNSKILLED IN THE WORD OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. According to Romans 10:1-4 a person can have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. According to v.3 you can be IGNORANT OF GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS and be seeking your own. Our righteousness is like filthy rags. You need to submit to God's righteousness which is clearly a gift. Romans 9:30-33 says that the Gentiles obtained righteousness simply by faith, but the religous people miss it. To the religous mind the truth that we are freely justified is a stumbling stone. To the religous mind Jesus is a stumbling Stone, a Rock of offence. Be carefull not to stump your tow. The writer of Hebrews is saying in v. 6:1-6 you have already laid the foundation now MOVE ON TO MUTURTY. REPENT FROM DEAD WORKS. Dead works means striving to obtain your own righteousness. Dead works are the deeds of the law by which no flesh shall be justified. Submit to the righteousness of God by faith. You have already laid the foundation. Settle the issue of righteousness and move on to muturity. |

52 | What is happening to me? | Heb 11:6 | cloud | 99330
I don't know what you are going through, but you are a child of God and God is unfailingly faithful to His children. Numbers 23:19 points out that "God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?" He expects nothing less than faithfulness from His people, but he knows that mustering it up on our own strength is as hard as squeezing water out of a rock. The good news is that God empowers His children to be faithful through the filling of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit invites us to drink from His cup of faithfulness and taste the sweet juice of His fruit. Let's turn our attention toward the faithfulness of God's people. One chapter in scripture, above all others, extols God's faithful servants. Heb 11 cites many heroes in the "Hall of Faith" and clearly defines what faith is - "being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see"(v.1). Every one of the faithful was honored by God for having believed what they could not see over what they could. Heb 11:5 tells of one man named Enoch who pleased God so much by his faith that God did not allow him to taste death, but took him away. Verse 6 says "and without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and the He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." Revelation 4:11 says, "for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created." God created us to bring Him pleasure; therefore, when we read that Enoch "was commended as one who pleased God," we realize that he fulfilled his calling. It seems Enoch so enraptured God that God raptured him! What was it about Enoch's life that pleased Him so vividly? Enoch walked with God (Gen 5:22) and that's what God calls each one of us to do. it certainly takes faith to wald with God, and Enoch did so for 300 years. Second Corinthians 5:7 says, "for we walk by faith, not by sight." Faith is an absolute necessity in the life that pleases God. If we are faithless, we are not fulfilling our calling to please Him. The moment the church was born, the Book of Acts referred to Christians as "believers" We were called believers long before we were called Christians. The term means "the faithful" or "those who believe God." If we refuse to keep believing God after salvation, He has no pleasure in us. Love for us? Yes. Pleasure in us? No. Pray this prayer, "My Father, you are worthy of all my faith and hope. I depend only on you because your faithfulness is perfect. I can have complete confidence in your character because your word tells me you are truthful and unchanging. Manifest your faithfulness within me, that i may walk with you and please you for all my life. How i love you, my Lord. Amen. |

53 | What is the AKJV? | 1 John 5:7 | cloud | 152904
What is the AKJV? I have spent alot of time with Mormans and they come up with an arguement for every scripture you show them. I had one stumped one time and he said, "well the Bible ain't perfect but the book of Morman is." I showed them 3 Nephi 11:36 and I said it sounds like Joseph Smith believed in the Trinity. Mormans believe in Jesus but not His diety so will they go to heaven? |
||||||
54 | What is the AKJV? | 1 John 5:7 | cloud | 152913
I believe that is true. To deny the diety of Christ is to deny Him and the Father. To me the Bible is clear on that but Mormans can't see it because it makes no sense. Spiritual things make no sense to fleshly people.
55 | What is the AKJV? | 1 John 5:7 | cloud | 153183
That's true. The righteousness based on faith [imputed by God and bringing right relationship with Him] says, do not say in your heart, who will ascend into heaven? That is to bring Christ down; or who will descend into the abyss? That is to bring Christ up from the dead [as if we could be saved by our own efforts]. Romans 10:6-7 I believe this scripture is saying don't judge based on someones goodness. What I question is their doctrine. I'm not convinced you can go to heaven if you don't believe Jesus is God. |

56 | unconfessed sin - loss of salvation? | 1 John 5:13 | cloud | 83465
THAT IS A FALSE TEACHING. Some people teach that at the judgement seat of Christ, God will punish believers for all the sins they commit after they accept Jesus Christ and Savior. This concept implies that when an individual accepts Christ, the blood of Jeus washes away all sin from the time of birth until that moment. However, from that moment on, he must answer to God for every sin. WE MUST CAST OFF THIS TEACHING BECAUSE SCRIPTURE PLAINLY TEACHES THAT GOD DOES NOT BLOT OUT SOME OF OUR SIN AND LEAVE OTHERS FOR US TO FACE ON JUDGMENT DAY. See: Isaiah 44:22, Ps. 103:12, Jer 31:34, Heb 8:12 John 5:24 Another false teaching about the Lord's judgement seat is that if a believer confesses his sins, he's forgiven the sin he confesses, but if he refuses or forgets a sin, God will punish him ofr it at the judgment seat. We must reject this concept as well, for the reasons metioned above. IF CHRIST IS GOING TO PRESENT ME WITH A LIST OF SINS AT HIS JUDGEMENT SEAT, HIS DEATH ON THE CROSS WAS MEANINGLESS. CHRIST TOOK ALL MY JUDGEMENT AT CALVARY. IF HE TOOK MY JUDGEMENT THER IS NO SIN JUDGEMNET TO FACE AT THE JUDGEMENT SEAT OF CHRIST. This is taken from John Haggee's book "Knowing the Secrets of God" You also got to know what judgement it is taking about when you are reading the Word. There are I think 7 judgements of God. Some of them are not even for believers. After we are born again God declares us righteous (Rom 3) by faith. We are not righteous because of anything we do or anything we don't do. So it is possible to do something and not be it. It is possible to do something unrighteous and still be righteous, because we are only righteous because God declared we are. THE BORN AGAIN EXPERIENCE IS AN ETERNAL THING. WE ARE ETERNAL SONS OF GOD. WE POSSESS ETERNAL LIFE RIGHT NOW. READ 1 JOHN 5:13 AGIAN. IF WE COULD LOSE IT, IT WOULD NOT BE ETERNAL IT WOULD BE TEMPORAL. BUT IT IS EVERLASTING IT HAS NO END. |

57 | Love Him then work for Him | Rev 2:5 | cloud | 72034
The lamstand does not mean your salvation. Here Jesus is telling them to do the works that they did when they first new Him. But we cannot be saved by our works. 1 Corinthians 3:15 says that our works wll be tested, and if they are not good we will lose our reward but we will still be saved. So the lampstand could mean our rewards or it could mean the light that we are supposed to shine into the world. They were not lazy. They had been working hard. (verse 2 and 3) The work He was talking about was loving Him.(verse 4) We must remember to not get so involved in working for the Kingdom and forget about God. When we spend time with God in prayer we are loving Him. Then He places the lampstand in our life and it shines into the world. The only way we will be effective in God's Kingdom is by His anointing. 11 Cor 3:5 |
