161 | Discussion Question | Matt 19:24 | christian7 | 61469
Hi prayon: Thank you for answering my question on 1Tim. Now I will take a turn at yours. First question do I believe it is a sin for a Christians to have expensive things? NO. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple: And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre. And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout." A coat without seam was very expensive". They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did. I believe that God has always had wealthy and poor alike for His purposes. As to your question, do I feel God would consider me greedy if I had an excess of money in the bank? NO A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. With money comes great responsibility and I think if you put the Lord first in all things you will do well. As for me I have all the Lord trust me with (which is very little :)) and I am much happier without the stress or worry over having too much of anything. God Bless |

163 | Should a Minister marry non-christians? | 2 Cor 6:14 | christian7 | 61315
lefty1941 the only verse I see to support marriage for unbelievers is in Heb 13:45 . Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. at least it is honourable...I would strongly recomend Godly councel before I married them and leave the rest to God. 165 | How can anyone be saved? | 1 Cor 2:14 | christian7 | 61293
kalos...I only found once for all time in the NLT...I found once for all in the ESV,KJV,NIV,NASB,AMP,NKJV,ASV,AND DARBY... also look at HEB.7:27 27. Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.KJV who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.NASB I have to stay with the fact that Jesus died once for all...thanks and God Bless |

166 | How can anyone be saved? | 1 Cor 2:14 | christian7 | 61281
Thank you John for the reply: My thoughts on this main topic will be as follows: There are two types of spirit, the spirit of man and the Spirit of God or the Holy Spirit. When we seek what is our own interest and in the interest of this world or in the things not pertaining to God, but to what we want and care about God being out of the picture we are in the natural man. But when we seek after the things that are of God and are seeking to please Him or uplift Him only, or are seeking to know God and His ways: it is then that His Spirit is revealed to us. Not as being a natural man but as being one who wants to know God. Not as being concerned with what we may gain in selfishness but as being one that wants Gods will in our lives. God’s ways are meaningless to us when we don’t care a bit about God (the natural man). God’s ways are found out when we come to God in the Spirit of wanting to know Him and His ways. To be in contact with His Spirit and what He wants for us. Now I my be far off in left field here but I truly believe that when you come to God in the latter since of what I have written you are not coming to Him in the natural but in the Spiritual. That is why I think that the natural man cannot receive from God, and that when you are in the natural or carnal mindset that God doesn’t want to deal with that kind of spirit for it is of this world and also of Satan. But when you come to God willingly and in the trueness of wanting to know who God is and what God wants for your life from the heart, well that’s when I think God reveals the Spirit to you. Then salvations door is opened and the natural man, well he isn’t in the picture. Just the Spirit that God gave you and Gods Spirit. God Bless |

John Hebrews 10:10 by the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for "ALL"... the quotation is mine...Jesus paid the price for all..to say that it is just for whom God chooses would be saying that Christ just died for some special sect of people...with this I disagree...Its is by no mistake that missionaries are overseas preaching to whosoever will listen...for Christ Jesus died for every single soul that is on the face of this earth...the only choice I see is the choice we make when presented the message of salvation though Jesus Christ our Lord... Romans 12:3 God has dealt to "every man" the measure of faith God Bless |

169 | Law in the book of Roman what is it | Rom 7:7 | christian7 | 57856
Paul is speaking of the 10 commandments as in verse 7 he quotes the 10th commandment...but he also speaks of the law of being married... for a woman is not to marry another as long as her husband lives...but the understanding of what the law does is this...that if we did not know that we broke the law, we would have no need for a Savior to deliver us from our sins...thus the law shows us that we are sinners, in need of forgiveness, which comes through Jesus Christ alone... for I did not know that I was a sinner until God showed me that "thou shalt not" and it was something I had done...well if I had done what God said "thou shalt not" then I find that the law is good because it shows us a need for forgiveness...well because I want to die to the person who had done those things against God by breaking His law...how do I do this..I am seperated through Jesus by death to the old me,which alows me as a dead person who is still breathing, to be remarried...thus becoming a new person through Jesus Christ and giving my life that I now live to Jesus Christ...the old me is dead and the new me is alive and free from the law tha I had broken... maybe this helps you elayne...God Bless |

170 | just sit there and listen | 1 Cor 14:30 | christian7 | 57850
I was speaking of a revelation of or from the Bible not just from somewhere out there in left field...lol...now the verse says that if a revelation comes...then let the first one be silent...now...are you saying the scripture is speaking of revelation or illumination?...THe use of the term revelation or reveal(ed) in reference to one's own understanding or reaching implies the those teachings were directly from God and thus infallible...so when God gives you a teaching or understanding it is directly from God...a revelation...and the verse says if a revelation comes to another, then let the first one be silent...but there never seems to be the open chance to share this revelation which could be for someone in need of it and could possibly be the reason that God gave it to you...did I just say that...anyway I dont take offence to anything that is said to me as I well hope we are all in this together to help one another with the love of Christ in our words so please kalos dont think this is some kind of a reply that I am sending to oppose anything that you wrote as I always enjoy reading the work you are doing for the Lord...I am just caught up in this verse a little bit and was wondering when was the right time to speak about something the Lord has shown you or me...God Bless
171 | just sit there and listen | 1 Cor 14:30 | christian7 | 57699
