1 | Did Jesus actually crown his mother? | Not Specified | cherylmartel | 119843
Recently I visited Montreal Canada and saw the Basilica de Notre Dame. There is a statue there of Jesus, placing a crown on Mary's head - my DEVOUTLY catholic friend insists that this event actually took place in the bible and I disagree. Can you give me the scripture where it is found - if it exists? thanks ! |

9 | When did the catholic church go wrong? | Bible general Archive 1 | cherylmartel | 119871
I don't really think the Catholic church has gone WRONG.........there is just so much they do that I don't think has scriptural basis - their worshipping of Mary, infant baptism (which I believe started when children had a high mortality rate and they were afraid they wouldn't go to heaven) and confession....how could a priest take on that much responsibility??? just a comment...that Basilica in Montreal was amazing - I wish I could remember the dollar figure............and it has made me wonder about some of these things. I'm not sure when this all started........but my feeling is that discontent started....and SOMEONE started actually READING the bible.
10 | Is creamation right? | Bible general Archive 1 | cherylmartel | 119874
guess the only thing that comes to mind for me are a couple of scripture......I personally don't think God wishes this but that's just my opinion. Gen 2:7 Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. 2 Gen 3:14 The LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, Cursed are you more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you will go, And dust you will eat All the days of your life; 3 Gen 3:19 By the sweat of your face You will eat bread, Till you return to the ground, Because from it you were taken; For you are dust, And to dust you shall return." |

11 | Is creamation right? | Bible general Archive 1 | cherylmartel | 119902
How nice to meet you Hank. My personal belief that cremation may be wrong, is based upon the scriptures I quoted which all say that we came from the ground and should return to the ground. I don't believe that something naturally returns to the ground when it is are burned......but maybe I'm wrong about that. I'm enjoying this very informative site. I hope that it is the type of place where people are treated kindly and with respect. It is of course, very useful and necessary to support our beliefs with scripture, however since we are all such individual creatures, there may be some stretch as to the understanding of certain passages. I have always found it useful to try to remember 1 Cor 13:13 whenever dealing with other people because God made us all so very different. In God's Love |

15 | Where is "You shall be known as you are | 1 Corinthians | cherylmartel | 120184
I believe it means that even as we are known inside and out by our Father, so shall we know all and understand all, when we get to heaven.
