1 | Was Adam and Eve's fall a good thing? | Bible general Archive 2 | bboyd | 108957 | ||
If I get it right, your husband is saying that to "be fruitful and multiply" was inherently sinful. But nakedness was natural to them before they ate from the tree, and they knew nothing of good and evil; they were innocents. Doing what God asked of them could not be inherently sinful-that would be to deny His nature....From my perspective, your husband's view also denies a crucial part of our relationship with God. Especially in His relationship with Adam and Eve, God made clear the concept of free will. He made us free, but we chose sin with that freedom. In Christ He once again set us free from sin, giving us the second chance we needed to choose Him... As much as it hurts Him, because He made us to be with Him, He gave us the precious gift of free will. Hope this is helpful in any small way- great fodder for thought and reflection! |
