561 | what does god say it takes to be a man | Gen 1:26 | azurelaw | 230528
Dear Jarrett, Men are to live for God's glory because we are made according to His image (Gen 1:26; Romans 3:23, 1 Corinthians 10:31). Men are to rule over other creatures on earth (Gen 1:26). Men are to prosper and to bring up godly offspring (Gen 1:28; Malachi 2:15). Shalom Azure |

562 | Why does God say "us" in Gen 3:22 | Gen 1:26 | azurelaw | 231887
Dear MichaelN, You may check for the cross reference and the 1st verse (Genesis 1:26) bearing the trinitarian concept (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit) in the Bible. ***************** "There is but one only living and true God, who is infinite in being and perfection, a most pure spirit, invisible, without body, parts, or passions, immutable, immense, eternal, incomprehensible, almighty, most wise, most holy, most free, most absolute, working all things according to the counsel of his own immutable and most righteous will, for his own glory, most loving, gracious, merciful, long-suffering, abundant in goodness and truth, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin; the rewarder of them that diligently seek him; and withal most just and terrible in his judgments; hating all sin; and who will by no means clear the guilty." "In the unity of the Godhead there be three Persons of one substance, power, and eternity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. The Father is of none, neither begotten nor proceeding; the Son is eternally begotten of the Father; the Holy Ghost eternally proceeding from the Father and the Son." ---- Westminster Confession (1647 A.D) Shalom Azure |

563 | Is It Human to Sin? | Gen 1:27 | azurelaw | 188086
Dear John, Greetings to you. I can understand your feeling (for I feel the same as in doubt with his sincerity). However, may I offer you these scriptures (I believe you know pretty well): Eph 4:26-27 Be angry, yet yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity. James 1:19-20 This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. My reading of this user's questions arouse my memory of the below scripture not out of sarcasm but "sadness". How true is our Lord Jesus Christ's Words. Matt 7:6 Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces. Shalom Azure |

564 | Is It Human to Sin? | Gen 1:27 | azurelaw | 188087
Hi,John It's me again. I forgot to end my post with a story told by my elder few weeks ago. Here it is: One day, a christian met a beggar in a street. Out of pitty, he invited this beggar home for a meal. After the beggar finished his meal, he started complaining about the food and cursed God as usual for his poverty. This christian was very angry with this beggar's unthankful behaviour, thus said to himself that he deserves to be a beggar. However, at that very moment, God said to this christian: "This beggar curses me EVERY single day and I still give my provision to him not leaving him hungry, why can't you just tolerate him for ONE single day?" Hope you enjoy the story. While we are enjoying the forum, let's keep praying for the forum and all the participants as well. Shalom Azure |

565 | Is It Human to Sin? | Gen 1:27 | azurelaw | 188094
Dear Jeff, It's very nice to hear from you again. Frankly, I had a moment of feeling annoyed by his unreasonable(?) questions. However, I believe that there are brothers or sisters here who are more loving, patient and able than I to answer his questions. And I also believe that what we need is to preach and God will do the rest through his Holy Spirit. The bible also said that for those who think they are wise and behave proud in front of our God, they will be humiliated. (Sorry, I forgot the relevant scripture) Their words just expose their foolishness in the face of our Almighty God. I love what Jesus said as below: John 12:48 He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the WORD I spoke is what will judge him at the last day. Shalom Azure |

Hi John, What I heard within my society "woman is made of water". By such application (or imagination), when dust mixed with water, man and woman become one flesh as well as a clay in the Potter's hand ......Just my unbiblical fancy thought :-) Gen 2:22-24 Shalom Azure |

567 | another try | Gen 1:27 | azurelaw | 198963
Oh..my... I'm muddying the forum :-( But don't you think God's formula is perfect that we are not mud but clay? Shalom Azure |

568 | another try | Gen 1:27 | azurelaw | 198967
What I can think of is that how awesome is our God who glorifies us (dirty, muddy and filthy sinners) by making us righteous in Christ and that we may glorify Him even though we were so m-u-d-d-y. Thank you very much for the sharing, Brother Doc. :-) Shalom Azure |

571 | Remember... | Gen 2:2 | azurelaw | 220959
Dear Rick, You should have also read the below in the TOU: You must abide by the following rules in connection with your use of the Forums: - Postings must be Biblically based and not opposing the Bible's sole authority (sola Scriptura), Christianity, or the deity of Jesus Christ. This is, I believe, exactly what Brad asked you to comply with in his post to you. Shalom Azure |

572 | Right there with you... | Gen 2:2 | azurelaw | 220983
Dear Rick, As a new user, you might not be familiar with how the postings organized as I see you are posting follow up posts as "questions". Just want to inform you that when you make a follow up post/note/question, you just need to "mark" it as "note" so that it would not be occupying the "primary question" section on the main page, and yet it can still be read and answered. Shalom Azure |

Dear Hank, I thank you so much for your great help in providing me such a resourceful and remarkable information. I did not expect such a simple question in my mind (which just pop up suddenly when I read the bible) could be an immense and deep one as you stated. I will try to find out more with the information you gave and hope that Dr. Morris's study and writings would not be too difficult for me to understand. God bless you always. |

576 | God wanted to give Adam a helpmate | Gen 2:18 | azurelaw | 201544
Dear queendee, Scripture : Gen 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." Furthermore, I found Metthew Henry's commentary helpful in answering your question. *** … Every beast of the field and every fowl of the air God brought to Adam, … that he might name them, and so might give, 1. A proof of his knowledge, as a creature endued with the faculties both of reason and speech, and so taught more than the beasts of the earth and made wiser than the fowls of the heaven, Job 35:11. And, 2. A proof of his power. It is an act of authority to impose names (Dan. 1:7), and of subjection to receive them…. But he [God] gave Adam leave to name the beasts and fowls, as their subordinate lord; for, having made him in his own image, he thus put some of his honour upon him. An instance of the creatures' insufficiency to be a happiness for man: But (among them all) for Adam there was not found a help meet for him. Some make these to be the words of Adam himself; observing all the creatures come to him by couples to be named, he thus intimates his desire to his Maker:—"Lord, these have all helps meet for them; but what shall I do? Here is never a one for me." It is rather God's judgment upon the review. He brought them all together, to see if there were ever a suitable match for Adam in any of the numerous families of the inferior creatures; but there was none. Observe here, 1. The dignity and excellency of the human nature. On earth there was not its like, nor its peer to be found among all visible creatures; they were all looked over, but it could not be matched among them all. 2. The vanity of this world and the things of it; put them all together, and they will not make a help-meet for man. They will not suit the nature of his soul, nor supply its needs, nor satisfy its just desires, nor run parallel with its never-failing duration. God creates a new thing to be a help-meet for man—not so much the woman as the seed of the woman. Metthew Henry *** Shalom Azure |

577 | baptism | Gen 2:21 | azurelaw | 236204
Dear Susan, How would you come to the conclusion that Eve was also Adam's daughter? Could you please explain? Thank you. Shalom Azure |
||||||
578 | baptism | Gen 2:21 | azurelaw | 236210
Dear Susan, Since then as you have rightly put that she was CREATED, and as is in Gen 1:27 recording "God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.", and as is in Gen 2:24-25 that Eve was regarded as the wife of Adam, it could not be said that Eve was also Adam's daughter. Shalom Azure |

Dear escar, If I read you correctly, you said "Who's image God and the angels we were made in their likeness..." for your interpretation of Gen 1:26, do you mean that man was made in the image of God and angels? If so, please explain where in the bible said that man was made in the image of God and the angels? Shalom Azure |
