401 | Who were the Canaanites? | Gen 24:3 | azurelaw | 224799
Dear marigold, Others may have a more comprehensive answer. Here is what I have come up with:- 1/ Canaanites are a cursed people (Gen 9:18-19) 2/ They are immoral and wicked (Gen 10:19, Gen 13:13, Exo 23:23-24, Lev 18:3) Shalom Azure |

403 | went to Seir or not | Gen 33:17 | azurelaw | 224787
Thanks Searcher, for your input. Yes, for sure God is in control of everything. I, such a fallen human and fallen mind, just could not help to express the "hindsight". Anyway, my point is: Did Jacob go to Seir? I think he did not. But some commentator said he could have gone there but stayed for a short while. Shalom Azure |

404 | went to Seir or not | Gen 33:17 | azurelaw | 224778
Does this verse mean that Jacob did not go to Seir and in V14 he was just cheating Esau for he was still afraid of Esau taking revenge? From what has been portrayed, Jacob seems to be a man of suspicious. Somehow, I would consider that if Jacob did go to Seir and stayed with Esau, the tragedy in Chapter 34 could be avoided. Thanks for your input and Shalom Azure |

405 | The error addressed in 2 Peter | Bible general Archive 4 | azurelaw | 224776
Dear Beja, I would say "yes" that the error addressed is about antinomianism. I remember someone (I forgot about the source) said that 2 Peter 3:14-17 is refuting those who wrongly considered Paul's teaching on saved through faith alone so that they might still live an immoral life. The examples (Noah and Lot) in the ancient time cited by Peter were used to address the moral issue clearly in harmony with his concern on the antinomianism. Just my bit of 2 cents:-) Shalom Azure |

Dear Rob, I am not a member of the Lockman Foundation, but a user of the forum for Bible study. 1st, as far as I know, I am not aware of such verse in the NASB or AMP version of the site provided. 2nd, I think it is the member at your church who should submit evidence of prove for such notion or verse because he (or she) is the person claiming such verse exists. 410 | 6 reasons the Lord abandon Judah | Isaiah | azurelaw | 224661
Dear mommyof2, I suppose you are referring to Isaiah 2:6-22. Please see the below reply I made earlier today to another 2 users asking the same question. Shalom Azure ***** Have you read the passage? The reasons are mentioned clearly in the verses. It would not be difficult to spot them out. This is my advice to you and Linda28:- 2 Tim 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. I always think that whoever joins a bible study class, he or she must be thirsty for God's word and eager to study and to know Him, thus will work hard by themselves in seeking the answer, reading the scriptures. I don't know what is the zeal in believers who rely on others to find the answer for them in their bible study wihout putting in their own effort. May God grant you the zeal in digging His treasure of His precious Words. |

417 | The true Gospel Jesus proclaimed | Matt 4:23 | azurelaw | 224547
Dear 00123 Had Jesus not reminded us about the tares already (Mat 13:24-30)? The point is not whether people agree with you (as per your post 224502) or not, but as believers, what should we do at our church among our fellow members/brethrens. We do not know one's heart, not even our own which is deceitful, too. (Jer 17:9) Please leave the judgment to our Lord. Our responsibility is to discern, admonish, PRAY and LOVE. (1 Cor 13) instead of holding a "holier than thou" attitude. Shalom Azure |
