1921 | what does it really mean to love God? | NT general Archive 1 | azurelaw | 189922
Dear selcheng, I suggest you do a word search on the Get Bible Text on your right hand side of the screen. You just need to type "love" and select New Test. from the Search Range, then you will find numerous scriptures that talk about love and I believe your question should be answered. If it is too much for you to start with, you may want to begin with the book of John. Hope this helps. Shalom Azure |

Luke 7:36-50 - Clarification needed As per my understanding, the Simon mentioned was a Pharisee not the apostle Simon Peter. Am I rignt? However, the sermon (concerning the captioned scriptures) given by a pastor on last Sunday service, he referred this Simon as Peter (Simon) the apostle which I am in doubt. Thanks for your help. 1925 | when were the angels created? | Gen 1:1 | azurelaw | 189895
Dear Bill, Thanks for your reply. Yes, I agree that angels were created prior to man. However, I am afraid I cannot agree that angels should be included in the 'Us'. Please read the below scriptures which do not support 'Us' is inclusive of angels. Gen 1:26-27 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.....God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." (NASB) AMP version v. 26 God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. [Ps. 104:30; Heb. 1:2; 11:3.] AMP version v 27 So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them. [Col. 3:9, 10; James 3:8, 9.] Gen 9:6 "Whoever sheds man's blood, By man his blood shall be shed, For in the image of God He made man. 1 Cor 11:7 For a man ought not to have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man. Only God (the father, the Son, the Holy Spirit) is the creator. Nowhere in the bible mentioned that man was created in the image of angels. Hope this clarifies the issue. Enjoy the forum and let us learn together. Shalom Azure |

1927 | occupations of the apostles | Matthew | azurelaw | 189838
Welcome, leta4christ: --quote: Who were the disciples? "And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him (Mt. 10:1-; see also Mk. 3;18; Lk. 6;14). " All of the twelve disciples were Galileans except Judas who came from Kerioth. Of the twelve: four were fishermen, one a publican (or a tax collector), and another a Zealot (or revolutionary). The occupations of the other six are not known. --unquote Source: Dr. Lee W. Warren at http://www.plim.org/Web articles96/What happen to 12 Disciples Apr96.html Shalom Azure |

1931 | Is it a sin to be cremated after you die | Psalm | azurelaw | 189797
Dear Blessedman, "The Bible actually does not give any specific teaching about cremation. Cremation was practiced in Biblical times, but it was not commonly practiced by the Hebrews or by New Testament believers. Some believers object to the practice of cremation on the basis that it does not recognize that one day God will resurrect our bodies and re-unite them with our soul and spirit (1 Corinthians 15:35-58; 1 Thessalonians 4:16). However, the fact that a body has been cremated does not make it any more difficult for God to resurrect a body. The bodies of Christians who died a thousand years ago have completely turned into dust by now ¨C and God will be able to raise their bodies. Cremation does nothing but ¡°expedite¡± the process of turning a body into dust. God is equally able to raise a person¡¯s remains that have been cremated as He is the remains of a person who was not cremated." (source:http://www.gotquestions.org/cremation-Bible.html£© I believe it is subject to personal preference. I have my will written and saved in my computer that cremation be exercised after all my usable organs be donated when I die, and the ash be used for plantation. No need to keep my remains anywhere. :-) P.S. The customs of burial for Chinese is to keep the whole body, we (not me) are quite tough with this. Hope your doubt has been clarified (at least on the Chinese part). Enjoy the forum. Shalom Azure |

1932 | Is it a sin to like people unwillingly? | Gen 19:1 | azurelaw | 189793
Dear AbuYohan, Welcome to the forum. You mentioned that : ...get some one 2 annoint and pray for u. The anointing breaks every yoke that comes against the written word of God. Per my understanding, the purpose and function of anointing render the idea of sanctification or sacred separation for God, and it usually comes along with ordination, sacrifice and offerings as we see in the OT. The anointing task was also not performed too casually. Could you please explain further on your above idea that : 1/ who do you mean by someone 2/ "anointing breaks every yoke that comes against the written word of God" with scriptural support in order that I can learn more. Thank you and Shalom Azure |

1934 | How old was Matthew when he died? | Amos 1:1 | azurelaw | 189726
Dear Tasia, Welcome to the forum. Pardon me that I don't quite your point. You post a question and answer it yourself. Did you mean that you finally get the answer yourself? That is great, but please provide scriptural backup or source of such if possible. It is very much appreciated and I am also interested to know the source and the answer, too. Shalom Azure |

1935 | Am I still Married "in God's eyes"? | NT general Archive 1 | azurelaw | 189705
Dear ChristianMom, I feel extremely sorry for what you have encountered in your marriage. However, I would like to join with brothers BradK and Hank's advice to you. However, I would like you to know that you are doing fine in keeping yourself and your children safe from being physically abused. You mentioned that you are now focusing on your kids, church and God, which I think you are doing perfectly right. Keep it up. Put your faith in Him. I think, when you really focus on God, will you bother whether you are still married in God's eyes? Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want.... Keep you in my prayers. Shalom Azure |

1939 | was Jude JESUS's brother? | Mark 6:3 | azurelaw | 189664
Dear Tinah, In Mark 6:3 listed some of the names of Jesus' brothers. "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James and Joses and JUDAS and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?" I am not sure if Jude is identical to Judas. Hope this is helpful. Shalom Azure |

1940 | handing one over to Satan | Not Specified | azurelaw | 189656
1 Tim 1:20 What does Paul mean by "....handed over to Satan, so that they will be taught not to blaspheme."? The idea seems quite repugnant or contradicting. Similar idea was also found in 1 Cor 5:5 but with different context and targets. Does this refer to Church's disciplinary action on sinning and non-repenting church members? In 2 Tim 2:17 and 4:14, both Hymenaeus and Alexander did not seem to repent finally. Does it mean that such kind of reprimand might not always work? But at least we are able to keep the church pure and clean? Hope that my questions do not appear confusing. Thanks for your help. Shalom Azure |
