1782 | Explain Ephesians 3:5-6? | Eph 3:6 | azurelaw | 192714
Dear Grace, When you read through verse 1 to 6, it clearly talked about the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ has been extended to gentiles. The mistery of Christ lies in verse 6. Gentiles had no part in the Kingdom of God under the old covenant (see Ch 2 v 12). 1786 | What is Jacob's trouble? | Genesis | azurelaw | 192705
Dear Grace, Do you have any specific verses in mind to question? Starting from Genesis 25 and the following chapters record a lot of Jacob's life. Perhaps the below incidents are what you are looking for:- 1/ Took the advantage (or opportunity) to get the birthright from his brother (Gen 25:30-31) 2/ Cheat his father Isaac to get his blessings (Gen 27:11-29) 3/ Played tricks to get wealth from his father-in-law Laban (Gen 30:25-43) I believe Jacob's trouble is being too tricky or an opportunist. These are just my 2 cents. I think others on the forum would have more valuable input to your question. Shalom Azure |

1787 | Grace giving or tithing? | Bible general Archive 3 | azurelaw | 192696
Dear Grace, Welcome to the forum. Since you are a new comer and might not be familiar with how the feature of the forum works, I would recommend you to consider the below in search of an answer for most of your questions: 1/ If you have a question concerning a specific verse (e.g. Genesis 1:1), you can type that verse in the "Question/Notes on Verse" (on the tope of the screen) then click "Go". It will show you all the past discussed threads (if available) at the bottom of the page. 2/ If you have a topical question, type the keyword you have in mind in the "word search" box at your right hand corner. It will show all the posts containing the searched words. Then you need to find the relevant topic discussed in the past. Though you might (sometimes) find it a tedious task in going through so many posts for getting an answer, I can tell you from my experience that you will learn a lot better and some posts or dicussions are interesting (or humurous, you will enjoy a lot). I've always come across with many wonderful and witty posts apart from my search of an answer to my original question. You will also find very helpful website recommended by other users in their posts and many of the websites are helpful for our bible study as well. In case you could not find anything relevant to you question, of course you need to ask. Many of the brothers and sisters are willing to help. Hope you enjoy the forum. Shalom Azure |

It would be advisable to read throught the thread for better understanding before submitting a post or two. By the way, could you please provide us with sufficient scriptures for your logic? Finally, satin is a kind of fabrics for making clothes. :-) I cannot relate it to any product of sin. Shalom Azure |

1792 | 23Someone asked him, "Lord, are only a f | Luke 13:20 | azurelaw | 192539
Dear Hillary, Please find below Bible commentary which should be helpful for your understanding. Shalom Azure ---------- And one said unto him, Lord, are they few that are saved? It is likely that this question was asked by a Jew, and that the two parables illustrating the smallness of the kingdom's beginning suggested it to him. The Jews extended their exclusive spirit even to their ideals of a world to come, so that they believed none but the chosen race would behold its glories. The circumstances attending to the conversion of Cornelius, recorded in Acts, show how this exclusiveness survived even among Jewish Christians. The questioner wished Jesus to commit himself to this narrow Jewish spirit, or else to take a position which would subject him to the charge of being unpatriotic. 13:24 Strive to enter in by the narrow door: for many, I say unto you, shall seek to enter in, and shall not be able. Strive. Literally, agonize. To enter in by the narrow gate. The passage should be compared with that in Matthew 7:13. There one enters by a narrow gate upon a narrow road, indicating the strictness of the Christian life. Here one enters by a narrow door upon a season of festivity, indicating the joyous privileges of a Christian life. For many, I say unto you, shall seek to enter in, and shall not be able. Jesus answers that "many" shall be excluded from the kingdom, and that the questioner, and all others who hear, need to exercise themselves and give the matter their own personal attention lest they be among that many. -- McGarvey and Pendleton |

1793 | I had fainted | Ps 27:13 | azurelaw | 192488
Dear Raine, Please see below some background about David as to Psalm 27. To read more, you can go to : http://eword.gospelcom.net/comments/psalm/gill/psalm27.htm ------ [A Psalm] of David. The Septuagint interpreters add to this title, "before he was anointed." David was anointed three times, first when a youth in his father's house; but this psalm could not be written before that time, because he had not had then any experience of war, nor could be in any immediate apprehension of it, as here suggested; he was anointed a second time, after the death of Saul at Hebron, by the men of Judah; before that time indeed he had been harassed by Saul, and distressed by the Amalekites, and was driven from the public worship of God, to which he has a respect, Psalm 27:4; and he was a third time anointed, by the elders of Israel, king over all Israel; and between the death of Saul and this unction there was a war between the house of David and the house of Saul; but what is referred to is not certain, nor is it of moment, since these words are neither in the Hebrew text, nor in the Chaldee paraphrase. Theodoret is of opinion this psalm was written by David when he fled from Saul, and came to Ahimelech the priest. -- John Gill's Exposition of the Bible ---------------- Shalom Azure |

Dear Mike, Excuse me that I have no idea on the captioned programme. My post is to give you some encouragement (hopefully) in your situation. I have read your past posts and I can tell you that you are not the only person in the world experiencing numerous backslidings. When I open my email this morning, I received the below message from DaySpring Blessings which I would like to share with you: "God wants you to move through this day with a quiet heart, an inward assurance that He is in control, a peaceful certainty that your life is in His hands, a deep trust in His plan and purposes, and a thankful disposition toward all that he allows. He wants you to put your faith in Him, not in a timetable. He wants you to wait on Him and wait for Him. In His perfect way He will put everything together....see to every detail....arrange every circumstance....and order every step to bring to pass what He has for you." --Roy Lessin Isaiah 40:31 Shalom Azure |
