1621 | living in sin(out of wedlock) ministry? | John 3:16 | azurelaw | 196759
Dear delivered, I agree with you that we are His witness thus we should be mindful to our behaviour. Speaking the truth in love (Eph 4:15) though sometimes difficult but necessary. We have to be careful not to give devil any opportunity (Eph 4:27) - although this verse talks about handling of anger within the context, I think it can also apply to all situations to remind us stay away from temptation. Here are some more scripture to admonish your christian friends:- We are His witness (Mat 5:13-16) We live for the glory of the Lord and the good of his neighbour. (1 Cor 10:23-24, 31-33) Watch and pray that we do not enter into temptation. (Luke 22:46, Mat 26:41, Mat 6:13) Shalom Azure |

1623 | Knowledge of why they are in torment? | Luke | azurelaw | 196528
Dear Brother CDBJ, This is an interesting question. Let me try if my answer helps. I believe the unbelieve do not know the reason of their torment until the judgment day. Scripture support is Matthew 25:44 when Jesus talked about the judgment between the goat and sheep. Shalom Azure |

Eph 5:8-10 for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. I will pray for you. Shalom Azure |

1626 | unpardonable sin in Ex 20:7? | Ex 20:7 | azurelaw | 196421
Dear Brother Doc, Thank you very much for the answer. Yesterday (Sunday) was a very busy day and a great day for our synagogue as we have to attend the pastoral ordination ceremony for our teacher in the afternoon right after our Sunday service. Now I have the time to re-read your answer and have a better understanding in concern with Exo 20:7. God bless and Shalom Azure |

1627 | unpardonable sin in Ex 20:7? | Ex 20:7 | azurelaw | 196363
Matthew 12:31 talks about unpardonable sin. Can Ex 20:7 also refer to unpardonable sin? John Gill's commentary mentioned that the punishment if not in this life but the next life to come in the great judgment day (Targum of Jonathan). Thanks for your help for better understanding. Shalom Azure |

Before I would forget, welcome to the forum. Which country are you from? It would be good to let us know you better if you could fill in your user profile as I did. Hope you enjoy the forum and share with us. Shalom Azure |

Thanks again for sharing. Shalom Azure |

1631 | Fornication mistranslated? | Matt 5:28 | azurelaw | 196327
Dear libraudr, I can tell you that Jesus' standard is much much higher. Show your christian(?) friend Matthew 5:27-28. It would be good to ask him to read also v29-30 and 1 Cor 5:1-5 as well. Rom 12:1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and HOLY sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Shalom Azure |

Dear Apacheezkool, Welcome to the forum. You can find your answer in v 23 and 24. He was crying out from afar (in Hades / Hell) to Abraham. 23 "In HADES he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and *saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom." (NASB) And in Hades (THE REALM OF THE DEAD), being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far away, and Lazarus in his bosom. (AMP) And in HELL he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. (KJV) Shalom Azure |

1636 | Are there any scriptures in the New Test | Acts 11:9 | azurelaw | 196263
Yes, Chinese say: even the Buddhists (I guess only the Chinese Buddhists) cannot resist the tempting flavour. :-) Shalom Azure Eph 2:3 Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. |

1637 | Are there any scriptures in the New Test | Acts 11:9 | azurelaw | 196255
Dear Brother John, Yes, we must be reasonable. You know, we (Chinese) almost eat anything. I remember when I was a little child, a close relative was very fond of eating dogs and cats which I felt horrible. He tried to reason his such behaviour with a Chinese saying "those with the back facing the sky are edible". I could not help to talk him back asking "Then do you eat people who are hunchbacked?" (that's what I could do at that age) - silence was the answer I received. Shalom Azure |

1638 | Was the Bible written by astrologers? | Rom 1:19 | azurelaw | 196235
Dear tonyp, I think your focus of discussion should not be on the fortune telling or astrologers. Lead your father to the Word of God. Read with him the book of Gospels and Paul's epistles. I would recommend you show him Rom 1:16-25. Pay attention to v22. When a person is blind and deaf, how can he see and hear (therefore, is he capable of making sense?) see what Jesus said in Mat 11:25. Let God's Word speak to him. I understand your concern on your father's salvation. I will pray for you. Shalom Azure |

1639 | Fellowship with God or man? | Acts 2:42 | azurelaw | 196218
Dear Mrs. Dean, Welcome to the forum. I join with brother John to encourage you that you will be under the perfect care of our Lord. Who knows what is the best for us, but Jesus. It is extremely important to engage in a church with biblical sound doctrines and to have fellowship with God for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:1-5). A true church of God is also a church of love for this is the command of Jesus to love one another. So, please no haste. Pray, seek and ask, God will give according to His appointed time, means and will for His glory and for your (and your husband's) good. I will pray for God's strength and comfort in your (and your husband) time of difficulties. Shalom Azure |

1640 | AMm I UnTeachable? | James 1:19 | azurelaw | 196178
Dear Rapture, Welcome to the forum. I am a bit cautious to encourage you to stand firm in face of the comments from your fellow member as we do not understand the whole story or background. However, Bible teaches us not to believe every spirit but to test if they are from God (1 John 4:1). So, this constitutes to our discerning of the false prophet. And if you will stay with the forum long enough, you will notice that many of the forum users quote 2 Tim 2:15 as this verse is very important for reminding believers to rightly handle the Word. While, as what you have said you would always verify teachings by God's Word, I think this is a correct and biblical attitude. However, if your issue is not something about false prophet (we would never give way to false prophets) but just a different attitude hold within fellow members toward the handling of teaching received, I would prefer to raise your attention to your own attitude (this I mean could it be possible that you have been misunderstood as being arrogant or pride by your fellow members?) when you have your fellowship with your brothers and sisters. You have to understand that God has granted each of us with different gifts (Eph 4:11) and with which we are required to build up the body of Christ. We have to also trust those God has ordained, even sometimes we might find the problem of mishandling of the Word - and this we should speak the truth in love (Eph 4:15). And with this unity through sincere fellowship (Eph 4:2-3), edification through those with different gifts, we can grow together and will no longer be children as easily deceited. (Eph 4:14) Well, I might not be much helpful. Just my 2 cents to share with you. Keep you in my prayer. Shalom Azure |
