1443 | vision or physical or both | Ezek 3:14 | azurelaw | 200688
Dear Brother Doc, Thanks for your confirmation. I would have to admit that my question is not the focus of the entire chapter. As to your note about theophany (again, you taught me a new term, thanks) in your previous post with those scriptures, I completely agree with you. The Lord is Holy. Mal 3:2 "But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap. Shalom Azure P.S. Perhaps you could share something about your conversion with us ONLY IF YOU WILL. |

1444 | vision or physical or both | Ezek 3:14 | azurelaw | 200684
Dear Brother Doc, Thanks for your input. However, further help is needed. I have no problem with the power of the Spirit to transport anyone as in the case of Philip you cited. For the case of Ezekiel, he should be amidst of the exiles beside the river Chebar already (see 1:1) before the vision came upon him. So, do you mean that Ezekiel had been taken away to somewhere else (not recorded in the scripture) per v14 and back again to the riverside of Chebar (v15)? If that's the case, it might be much clearer to say "the Spirit lifted me up and took me away to the side of river Chebar" (I definitely have no intention to twist scriptures). Meanwhile v15 "Then I came..." is more in the sense of an active voice. So, to me, v14 and v15 appeared to be describing two individual instances - one both spiritual and physical and the other physical. (Well, this might not be a proper classificaiton, hope you understand what I mean). Perhaps I have missed something. Thanks again for enlightening this confused mind :-) Shalom Azure |

Dear booboo, You have asked the same question (post #200485) on 27 Feb. Is it a homework assignment? We would encourage students to first work on their own diligently instead of leaving it entirely to others. Shalom Azure |

1449 | vision or physical or both | Ezek 3:14 | azurelaw | 200633
If I understand it correctly, Ezek 3:14 is not a leading verse to v15. Verse 14 was describing a spiritual expereience of Ezekiel taken up in a vision where as after his such experience/vision, he went to sit beside the river Chebar at Tel-ab for 7 days in grieves. or (to my understanding, it is unlikely so) the Spirit lifted him up and took him away to sit beside the river Chebar at Tel-ab for 7 days in grieves? Thank you in advance for helping me to understand better. Shalom Azure |

Dear parpar, I am afraid you have wrongly directed your message to militaryguy. The quotes you cited were actually from user halroy. So, if halroy is still active on the forum, he/she could probably read of your post from the main page of SBF. Else, you might need to re-direct your post to him/her again. Hope you enjoy the forum :-) God bless and Shalom Azure |

Dear LSPS, Welcome to the forum. I tend to say it is Jesus' command to every believer instead of a calling. Whether you feel it or not, it is a must do mission. See Acts 1:8 and Matthew 28:19. Hope the above helpful. Shalom Azure |

1454 | modes in aiding meditation | Gen 1:26 | azurelaw | 200444
Dear Irene, Now let me try if I can explain it clear enough for you to understand how to make better use of the function and feature of the forum. 1/ When someone sends a post to you, you will be notified by an email from the Lockman system automatically. What you can do is either make your reply in response directly via the email; or if you want to view more comments from others on the subject before making a reply, you may log on the forum. 2/ When you want to post on a specific topic which already exists, just click on the subject heading, scroll down to the bottom of the screen, you will see those past posts within the thread. It is always advisable to read those past posts in order to grasp the idea of the past and current discussions so that we can make a proper reply or comment. I see that what you have written in your post (#200426) is irrelevant to my question (post #200340) nor any of the posts along the thread. It makes me suspect that you have no clues to the features and function of SBF. You said that I am charging you as screaming when write in cap letter. I am afraid it must be a misunderstanding on your part for I have not said so in any of my posts to you. Therefore, again, I sincerely invite you to re-read my posts which were addressed to you. If you find me wrong and offend you in anything what I said, kindly cite my exact wordings and the relevant post number so that we may communicate properly and effectively. All the blessings. Shalom Azure |

1457 | HOW DO YOU KNOW HE NOT A BELIEVER | Gen 11:6 | azurelaw | 200379
Dear Irene, You said: WHY EVERY TIME I GIVE MY ANSWER OR ? TO THE FORUM YOU PEOPLE TAKE IT IN STRIFE ... I read of your above accusation in several of your posts. Kindly please be assured that no one on the forum intends to give you a hard time. I am a Chinese living in a Chinese society (you might want to check on my profile for knowing me more). English is definitely not my native language. People around me usually don't speak English though most of them can. So, when I post on the forum, I will try my best to keep my message as clear as I can. At the same time, I would also consider at least 2 measures within the communication : 1/ Misunderstanding can always happen, an open mind for questions or even challenges with biblical ground should be anticiapted. 2/ You said it correctly, no one knows everything, we are here to learn. Therefore, through learning and interaction with one another, we can also be corrected. That's why I am not only anticipating challenging questions but also embrace them so that I can study His Word more diligently (2 Tim 2:15). I see quite a number of your posts with the statement "...IN THE BIBLE ITS SAYS I DONT REMEBER WHERE BUT IT SAY...". Like you, I always forget the exact verse but just can remember the general idea. However, only grasping the idea vaguely is not enough and could be misleading too, we have to search the Bible and study the verse within its context for its correct meaning. Remember when satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness, he also quoted scriptures (Mat 4:1-11), but out of its context. What a good demonstration it is to us that taking scripture out of the context is a remarkable tool used by satan to lead us astray! I hold high respect to see how you expressed your love towards our Lord in your profile. You are very much welcome to study with us together on the forum. We also show our love to one another and toward our Saviour when we handle His Word rightly. Shalom Azure |

1458 | modes in aiding meditation | Gen 1:26 | azurelaw | 200340
Lately, in a meeting to discuss about an up coming summer youth camp programmes, apart from introducing bible study method, we were considering how to encourage the young to have a consistent meditation/contemplation moment. One of the participants said that she wanted to introduce some meditation modes in the camp for the young so that they have more to choose to make their meditation more refreshing: 1/ The traditional one which is chewing on a chapter or two repeatedly for meditation. 2/ Interacting with the nature with scriptures. She said you can stand in front of a tree, a plant, an insect or facing the sky, etc. something of the nature to do your meditation. You can even talk to the creature and open yourself to let God reveal Himself or His Word through it. Perhaps, I am too ignorant. This sounds new and strange to me. So, I asked about the origin of this mode. She said it was not a new thing and could be originated from St Francis (Catholic). She said she will provide me some more information about it. I want to know if this kind of mode in aids of meditation biblical. 3/ Through performing arts (like painting or drawing, etc.) to express what has had in mind when meditating God's Word. Like No. 2, this is new and strange to me as well. This kind of mode is unlikely to be considered. Still I want to know if anyone on the forum aware of it and your biblical comments is appreciated. Shalom Azure |

Dear parpar, Thank you for your response and providing scriptures in balancing the discussion. In regards with "free will", how would you consider or understand "slave" as described in Rom 6:16-18? You don't have to answer me. By the way, pardon me that I prefer to shy away from the discussion which has been proven to be highly controversial among those forefathers and yet unsolved; and has also been discussed a lot in the past long before I join the forum. My further input is just redundancy (Prov 17:28). I believe you should know where I stand from my posts. There are a number of good (even hot perhaps) posts in past discussion on the forum. Just do a word search with : free will, predestination, Calvinism, Arminianism, etc. for your own further reading. Shalom Azure |
