Actually your answer contradicts the following: 1 Cor 2:15 But the spiritual man tries all things [he examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him]. 1 Cor 2:16 For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart And yes Jer 17:9 is true but it is in reference to the old nature..not the new .. we are Born Again.. 1 Pet 1:23 You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God. And we have a new heart.. that is NOT deceitful.. Ezek 11:19 "And I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them. And I will take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, The new birth experience is fulfilling the above scripture.. Titus 3:5 He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His own pity and mercy, by [the] cleansing [bath] of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit |

nope, nothing to fix.. the scripture is fine.. I was refering to his comment.. as we know God's Word is never in contradiction.. while on the other hand people depending on where they are in their walk with God may.. :)... none the less 2 Pet 1:20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, 2 Pet 1:21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. |

I would hope that neither of us intend to in anyway patronize the other on this topic or any topic.. I really think I may have mis-understood or interpreted the original post.. But in light of your comment " I may be too dense to grasp your argument very quickly"..I think I know where this is going so.. If you gentlemen feel your position is well represented then fine.. I have nothing to add .. |

4 | the waters above the heavens | Gen 1:7 | armond888 | 95058
Prior to the flood the sphere of the earth was covered with water ... there was the sky.. which is basically the lower atmosphere in which we live and then.. above the lower atmoshphere was a layer of water. The pre flood environment was very oxygen rich.. and because od the water layer.. the temparature throughout the earth was even. Water serves as a conductor of heat. 5 | Where does the bible condemn witchcraft? | Deut 18:10 | armond888 | 193375
Deut 18:10 "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 2 Deut 18:14 "For those nations, which you shall dispossess, listen to those who practice witchcraft and to diviners, but as for you, the LORD your God has not allowed you to do so. 3 2 Kin 9:22 When Joram saw Jehu, he said, "Is it peace, Jehu?" And he answered, "What peace, so long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?" 4 2 Kin 21:6 He made his son pass through the fire, practiced witchcraft and used divination, and dealt with mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD provoking Him to anger. 5 2 Chr 33:6 He made his sons pass through the fire in the valley of Ben-hinnom; and he practiced witchcraft, used divination, practiced sorcery and dealt with mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger. |

6 | Do all men belong to God? | Job 33:6 | armond888 | 131917
It is clear throughout the Bible that indeed ALL men do NOT belong to GOD.. not an easy pill to shallow.. puts a big hole in the "free will" concept.. Rom 9:16 So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy. Rom 9:17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "FOR THIS VERY PURPOSE I RAISED YOU UP, TO DEMONSTRATE MY POWER IN YOU, AND THAT MY NAME MIGHT BE PROCLAIMED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE EARTH." Rom 9:18 So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires. John 8:44 "You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Rom 9:22 What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? Rom 9:23 And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory, Rom 9:24 even us, whom He also called, not from among Jews only, but also from among Gentiles. Matt 13:37 And He said, "The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man, Matt 13:38 and the field is the world; and as for the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the tares are the sons of the evil one; |

7 | Do all men belong to God? | Job 33:6 | armond888 | 131918
I should add.. your question is a somewhat ambiguous one .. since we know..Psalms 24:1, A Psalm of David. The earth [is] the LORD’S and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.. Then yes all MEN are under God’s ownership and or sovereign rule..However I assumed you were referring to are all men OF God.. and again the answer would be no..
8 | Do all men belong to God? | Job 33:6 | armond888 | 132150
Hello Angel Thanks for the comment.. I am not saying anything I am simply listing scriptures in reference to the question.. I consider My own personal opinions worthless . .. The Bible speaks very well for itself.... 2 Pet 1:20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, 2 Pet 1:21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God I always say that If you read something and would like to know the intent of the author , you have to ask the author, anything else is only conjecture.. Fortunately for us we have the Holy Spirit and He will lead and guide us into all truth John 6:44 No one is able to come to Me unless the Father Who sent Me attracts and draws him and gives him the desire to come to Me, and [then] I will raise him up [from the dead] at the last day. John 6:45 It is written in [the book of] the Prophets, And they shall all be taught of God [have Him in person for their Teacher]. Everyone who has listened to and learned from the Father comes to Me--[Isa. 54:13.] |

9 | Do all men belong to God? | Job 33:6 | armond888 | 132267
Ok let me list a few more scriptures that might bring clarity to the issue at hand. John 15:16 "You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. Rom 9:11 for though the twins were not yet born and had not done anything good or bad, so that God's purpose according to His choice would stand, not because of works but because of Him who calls, Rom 9:12 it was said to her, "THE OLDER WILL SERVE THE YOUNGER." Rom 9:13 Just as it is written, "JACOB I LOVED, BUT ESAU I HATED." Rom 9:14 What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? May it never be! Rom 9:15 For He says to Moses, "I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOM I HAVE COMPASSION." Rom 9:16 So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy. John 1:13 Who owe their birth neither to bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!] Rom 9:18 So then He has mercy on whomever He wills (chooses) and He hardens (makes stubborn and unyielding the heart of) whomever He wills. Rom 9:19 You will say to me, Why then does He still find fault and blame us [for sinning]? For who can resist and withstand His will? Rom 9:20 But who are you, a mere man, to criticize and contradict and answer back to God? Will what is formed say to him that formed it, Why have you made me thus? [Isa. 29:16; 45:9.] Rom 9:21 Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same mass (lump) one vessel for beauty and distinction and honorable use, and another for menial or ignoble and dishonorable use? The references above address your question ..other that what is in black in white out of the WORD of GOD, I prefer not to comment. |

10 | Do all men belong to God? | Job 33:6 | armond888 | 132379
I was not out to prove anything.. I didnt write those scriptures .. they are authored by the Holy Spirit..You had to completly ignore all the scriptures I listed to come up with your reply.. If you choose to ignore them , thats between you and the Lord.. I do hope this ends the discussion , debate or whatever it is.. 2 Tim 2:23 But refuse (shut your mind against, have nothing to do with) trifling (ill-informed, unedifying, stupid) controversies over ignorant questionings, for you know that they foster strife and breed quarrels. |

Isiah 61:1 and Luke 4:18 Is 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives And freedom to prisoners; Is 61:2 To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, Luke 4:17 And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written, Luke 4:18 "THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED, Luke 4:19 TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD." Luke 4:20 And He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him. Luke 4:21 And He began to say to them, "Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing |

14 | Are blessings based on mataterials? | Is 53:5 | armond888 | 136553
Please not the scriptures below.. clearly.. blessing can be apart from material goods..otherwise why would the scripture say you are blessed regardless of your outward condition.. Matt 5:3 Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous--with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions are the poor in spirit (the humble, who rate themselves insignificant), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven! 2 Matt 5:4 Blessed and enviably happy [with a happiness produced by the experience of God's favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His matchless grace] are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted! [Isa. 61:2.] 3 Matt 5:5 Blessed (happy, blithesome, joyous, spiritually prosperous--with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the meek (the mild, patient, long-suffering), for they shall inherit the earth! [Ps. 37:11.] 4 Matt 5:6 Blessed and fortunate and happy and spiritually prosperous (in that state in which the born-again child of God enjoys His favor and salvation) are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God), for they shall be completely satisfied! [Isa. 55:1, 2.] 5 Matt 5:7 Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous--with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy! 6 Matt 5:8 Blessed (happy, enviably fortunate, and spiritually prosperous--possessing the happiness produced by the experience of God's favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His grace, regardless of their outward conditions) are the pure in heart, for they shall see |

15 | once saved always saved? | Jer 32:40 | armond888 | 128575
Please know that I do not wish to cause a debate just think you should consider the following scriptures I have referenced.. Rev 3:5 'He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. If you can not lose your salvation there would be no need to say "I will not erase" Rom 11:22 Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God's kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off. Saved eternally??? yes you will receive eternal life.. but you can be cut-off... Col 1:23 if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister. There are many more references but I pray you get the point and use reason.. The doctrine of eternal savation is a dangerous one indeed.. |
||||||
16 | once saved always saved? | Jer 32:40 | armond888 | 128604
well again with my intention to strongly avoid debate ..or cause contention of any sort I respectfully say that this doctrine implies we can live anyway we choose and that is not the case at all. I leave you with this scripture reference and hopefully we can close the matter honorably , although we disagree.. to God be the Glory.. Col 1:22 yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach-- Col 1:23 if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister. James 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity). |

17 | Grace AND? | Matt 6:20 | armond888 | 120222
Rom 11:6 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace
18 | Grace AND? | Matt 6:20 | armond888 | 120223
2 Tim 1:9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; Eph 2:9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. Clearly we can NOT be saved through works.. however as a result of being saved .. our behavior changes so that we pursue works of righteousness that God has ordained that we should live out... Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. James 2:18 But someone may well say, "You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works." 9 James 2:20 But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? 10 James 2:26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead. |
||||||
19 | Grace AND? | Matt 6:20 | armond888 | 120234
I will have to read your post.. I am late to this discussiom .. however , it is clear that works can not save you .. I am sure you agree that after you become a Christian or "Born Again" that one of the ways of recoginzing the transformation is through the evidence of fruits of righteousness . Matt 7:20 "So then, you will know them by their fruits. John 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. |

20 | DICIPLES BELIEVED jESUS TO BE | Matt 16:13 | armond888 | 193377
Jesus was showing that who He is can only be known as revealed through GOD HIMSELF.. Revelation knowledged.. Man can not reveal Jesus it is an act soley by GOD Himself... Matt 16:17 Then Jesus answered him, Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are you, Simon Bar-Jonah. For flesh and blood [men] have not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in heaven. |
