2 | Question for Rowdy.... | Acts 2:38 | adonia | 133782
Greetings prayon, I have spent about 30 minutes reading all the replies and debates.Salvation is by Grace, Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;.Baptism is a outward sign of a inward change. Mark 1:4 John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. The first century Christians where basically signing their own death warrents by public Baptisms as a way to profess their Faith in our Lord.I was baptisted 12 years after i accepted the Lord and i know that during that time the Lord was with me,guiding, loving, and instructing me.please do not let those who are set on the letter of the law keep you from seeing or experincing the spirit of the Gospel and Our Lords Deep love for you. In Him who is always Faithful |

3 | Predestination VS. Free will? | Eph 1:5 | adonia | 133302
This debate has been going on for hundreds of years and i have found for my self that it is something that i go to the Lord with and seek his peace and understanding.I read a very good quote from C.H. Spurgen, he could not balance the two views in his heart, but said it was an area that he would trust the Lord with. If you are interested, i will recommend where you can find his quote.as for verses, there are many on both sides. i use the Naves topical Bible and start looking up the related verses. 4 | Baptism or No? Our Forefathers said... | Eph 4:9 | adonia | 134305
Please consider this Verse from Romans 12:3 "For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith" In Him
5 | Baptism or No? Our Forefathers said... | Eph 4:9 | adonia | 134324
I Apologize that i did not make myself clear.I was bring up the issue of faith and where it comes from. The idea that we must be baptisted to be saved is not one that i agree with.Yes i belive it is important to be baptisted as a sign of obediance and love to Our Lord, but not for our salvation.I brought up Romans 12:3 because it is a good reminder to me not to get to puffed up about myself. Faith is also something the Lord gives us and then asks us to trust Him. Heres hoping you get what i am trying to convey. In Him who is always Faithful |
