121 | antichrist | Luke 10:27 | WalkingTalkingBible | 124754
Hi, c marengo, are you a new convert? I ask because of your zeal and thankfulness for Christ in your life! There's nothing wrong with that, in fact, I admire it. But the truth must be given to a couple of points you made in your post. You say, "antichrist is not a person unless you are speaking of yourself apart from christ." The antichrist is an actual person. Because Satan will use him to mock Jesus, he will be a man just like Jesus (except he is not God, like Jesus). He will be empowered by Satan and work miracles and signs to deceive and lure people from God. This is in the books of Daniel (7) and Revelation (13) and throughout the four Gospels. The antichrist will erect an image of himself and demand people to bow down and worship him (abomination of desolation in Matthew 24:15 and Mark 13:14). This is important to acknowledge because the very souls we are to witness to and win (or warn) will be heading for the Tribulation period if they live, and eternal separation from God if they die before the Rapture. We do have a battle. Jesus defeated Satan spiritually. He overcame everything the enemy could ever bring our way. But the devil didn't go away. Yes, we have the victory if we believe. However, we are still in this world system and are still in this flesh. As believers, we walk in faith that the enemy is defeated, because he is, but that doesn't make him stop trying to kill, to steal, and to destroy (John 10:10a). If we walk with our heads in the clouds and pretend like the devil is gone away, we walk in ignorance. We are exhorted to "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." (Ephesians 6:11) If we didn't have a battle, why would we need spiritual armour? "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7) Jesus' redemptive work on the cross took the dominion and power that man lost through sin and gives it to those who are fully committed to and accepts Him as Savior (born again). Yes, we have the victory, but we have to keep ourselves in subjection to the will of God and since we are still in the flesh and in this world system, Jesus has given us what we need to successfully stay saved until He returns for us. 122 | antichrist | Luke 10:27 | WalkingTalkingBible | 124956
Hi, c marengo, what's SBC? I believe that things in the spirit have happened in eternity past, but that certainly doesn't mean that it has already happened on earth. I can't make you believe in the person of the antichrist, but I just pray that you're not around when his time comes. In no way should any Christian be scared of the devil, he's defeated and God has given us power over him. But like I said before, that doesn't make him null and void. So, do you believe that the devil has no affect on your life? The tribulation has already come? My friend, there is so much error in your understanding that I can only pray (I say this out of love and concern). Please don't think I'm being mean, but it's true. What concerns me most is that you may be (or are) teaching others to believe what you believe. Being aware of our enemy is not following Christ out of fear, it's following Him out of wisdom. Please ask God to fill you with the Holy Ghost. He will help you understand the Word of God. WalkingTalkingBible |

124 | when is the antichrist coming | Luke 10:27 | WalkingTalkingBible | 125016
Hi, hefourgvs, to understand God's word you must have the Holy Ghost dwelling within (not saying that you don't) to help to rightly divide the word of truth when you study. However, I will be very, very brief for now: Daniel was given a message from God. The message was to the Jews. After dealing with them for 69 weeks (God's time, not ours), He turned His attention to Gentiles, saving all (not just Gentiles) who will accept Jesus as Savior. But He promised to deal with the Jews, so in the last week (70th), He will deal with the Jews again. But prophesy will be fulfilled. The Jews will return to Jerusalem to rebuild the city, the Antichrist will make a 7 year peace covenant with the Jews and he will break it half way in, the Antichrist will have the temple destroyed and he will put his image there for all to worship him (known as the abomination of desolation), Satan will be bound for a thousand years, the New Jerusalem and Christs returns to reign. All of this can be found in the book of Daniel, Revelations, and throughout other parts of both the O.T. and the N.T. Sorry for being so brief, but it is better to study these event by event. 125 | antichrist | Luke 10:27 | WalkingTalkingBible | 125057
Hi, c marengo, do you believe in the Rapture (not a word in our Bible, it comes from a Latin verb meaning "caught up")? I don't view it as an escape as you say some do, but I do know it's going to happen. God says that we are not appointed to wrath (1 Thessalonians 5:9). So,when the Tribulation period comes, we will not be on earth. The Rapture marks the end of the Church Age. Allow me to explain: In 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, we are told that the dead in Christ will be caught up and all believers that are alive will be caught up together with them. This is the end of the Grace Dispensation (Church Age). Who will be left? The unbelievers: the Jews that did not accept Christ and all unbelieving Gentiles (you know, non-Jews). Christ dying on the cross for the sins of the world was the end of God's dealings with the Jews (Daniel 9:26) and Salvation was opened to all (Matthew 27:51-53 the renting of the veil symbolizes that all have access to God through Christ). Since God had promised the Jews Salvation (deliverance), He has (is going) to keep His word. Christ's death on the cross marked the prophetic 69th week, with one week left. Even though the Jews rejected Christ, during the Tribulation period (the last week - 70th) they (and the Gentiles but the main focus is on the Jews) will be given a final chance to accept Him (the 144,000 and numberless multitude in Revelation 7:9 will). These are real events that will happen to fulfill God's prophesy. For example, all Jews will return to Jerusalem, 10 nations will yield their sovereignty to the Rome (Daniel 7:7 and Revelation 13:1 - ten horns), the Antichrist will be rise (little horn in Daniel 7:8 and Revelation 13:1) and defile the temple (abomination of desolation). He will make a peace treaty with the Jews and break the covenant in the middle of the "week" (Daniel 9:27). Some of these things have not happened, so we know that they will come or else we make God a liar! I'm glad to hear that you have the Holy Ghost because He can teach you these things, also. Thanks for responding. WalkingTalkingBible P.S. Do you believe in dispensations? Maybe I'm misunderstanding (and I'm sorry if I am) but when I speak of Tribulation, I'm talking about the time that will occur after this Grace Dispensation (Church Age). I don't mean that anyone professing Christ won't face tribulation and trials - these are for the refining of our faith (Romans 5:3). |

126 | y is it harder for a rich man to enter.. | Luke 13:24 | WalkingTalkingBible | 130868
Hi Empty Me, the answer you gave your step dad is a good one. Jesus says, "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." (Matthew 16:24) Of course this doesn't mean that all rich people will be denied access to the kingdom of God. It simply means, as you and others have said, that a rich person will most likely be bound to his/her riches and will not be so easily persuaded to put God above all for the sake of salvation (or anything else). I see how hard it is for not-so-rich people to accept salvation. Lust and pride keeps them from being able to accept Jesus as Savior. "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." 1 John 2:16 Keep praying for your step dad and continue to be a Godly (Christian) example and you will draw him to Christ. 127 | Is remorse necessary for forgiveness? | Luke 17:3 | WalkingTalkingBible | 119662
For a Child of God, remorse is not necessary for forgiveness. Matthew 5:44 says, ". . . bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you. . ." The perpetrator may be evil, but sin is sin. God let's us know that "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)." Just as God saved us, He can save someone who is yet unsaved. When someone is unsaved, they are, of course, not of God and do things that are ungodly, there is no limit as to what evil to expect of them (nothing surprises me anymore). This is a soul that needs Jesus just like the rest of us and that's why God says we have to love them regardless of their unrighteousness (which is longsuffering). Forgiveness is a conditional promise: if you forgive, you will be forgiven; "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses (Matthew 6:14-15)." Just as God had compassion on us, we are to have compassion on others. Jesus gave His life even when we were not remorseful. Forgive this person, for your sake, and pray for him/her. I hope this helps, WalkingTalkingBible |

128 | Is remorse necessary for forgiveness? | Luke 17:3 | WalkingTalkingBible | 119683
Hi, CDBJ! You have to do a little more than forgive to be saved. . . Jesus died so that we can be reconciled back to God, for the remission of (or deliverance from) sin (Matthew 26:28). Jesus is the only one who was worthy to die for the sins of the world. Therefore, look at remission/forgiveness, in Jesus' case, as deliverance. You (or none of us) can forgive, or deliver, others from sin. We are not God, so the sin is not against us, even though we are affected by it, sin is against God. You are not saved because you forgive (pardon, excuse) someone who did you wrong, one is saved because of repentance, accepting Jesus as Savior and doing the will of God. How could we, being forgiven of sin not forgive others who do us wrong? See Jesus' answer to Peter's question about forgiveness in Matthew 18:21-35. You're right, God did not change, but how He deals with us did change. Before the Day of Pentecost, God did not live in man (with few exceptions like John the Baptist). So there was no power to forgive. But in our dispensation, those who are filled with the Spirit of God are empowered to bring themselves under the subjection to the will of God. Forgiveness and Salvation are not the same when comparing ourselves to God. Check your post again, I didn't use Romans 6:23. WalkingTalkingBible |

129 | Is remorse necessary for forgiveness? | Luke 17:3 | WalkingTalkingBible | 119774
You imply that "before the day of Pentecost there was no capacity for God to save people." In the Old Testament, the souls were under the law. The law didn't give them power over sin, the law showed how sinful man is and how much man needed a Savior (Galatians 3:24). They couldn't keep the law. But Jesus, fulfilled the law (Matthew 5:17). The Old Testament souls had to ". . .Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." Ecclesiastes 12:13 You're right, O.T. people were believers by keeping the Law. Salvation, or deliverance (from the bondage of sin and eternal separation from God), didn't come until Jesus gave His life and resurrected. A lot more is expected of us, who are saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. We have the Spirit of God dwelling in us guiding us to do so. God, only, has the power to forgive sins. We have the power to do what is right, which includes forgiving others who treat us wrongly. Not the same as forgiving sin. Look at some of the Old Testament laws concerning, killing, stealing, homosexuality, beastiality, incest, adultery, etc. They were told to kill these "offenders." Not very forgiving, huh? We have the same spirits dwelling in people today, but God says love them anyhow. We can forgive (pardon, excuse) because God is living in us. Does this help a little more? WalkingTalkingBible |

130 | Is remorse necessary for forgiveness? | Luke 17:3 | WalkingTalkingBible | 119794
Sorry, I didn't know that you were asking me if I believed that. . . Anyway, I stated that the O.T. people were believers by keeping the Law. I guess I could say that a little better: The believers in the O.T. were to keep the Law. I believe the O.T. people were saved by faith in God. Whatever He said, they believed Him, and that pleased Him. Paul's epistles to the Romans and the Galatians were explaining to them, in short, that the law could not save them (probably because there were Jews around, like the Pharisees, still trying to teach people the old way). When I read about Abraham, I believe he looked for the promise. But I truly believe, as the Holy Ghost leads me, that the O.T. believers were saved by faith (Hebrews 11:1-39). When I look at people like Moses, Joshua, and King David, just to name a few, they had tremendous faith in God. So, if I say that they had faith in the will of God, and the will of God is His Word, then I guess you can say they did have faith in Jesus, Who is the Word of God! Thanks! You've helped me see things clearer concerning the believers from the O.T. time! God bless you! WalkingTalkingBible |

132 | What is the answer to this question? | Luke 20:4 | WalkingTalkingBible | 123346
Hi, mommapbs, I've enjoyed the discussion about baptism between you and Rowdy. Your question at the end of your post especially got my attention. I have a similar question to some of those I fellowship with: If a person who never spoke in tongues got up to teach, would you be so bold to say that he/she isn't filled with the Holy Ghost?) This is something I'm facing today - the "tongue speakers" seem to believe that those who haven't spoken in tongues are not filled with the Holy Ghost. This is so discouraging to the new converts. Thanks for your question at the end of your post, it makes me wonder how different ones would answer. I thank God for the truth! WalkingTalkingBible |

133 | What is the answer to this question? | Luke 20:4 | WalkingTalkingBible | 123355
Thank you, following him, for your response. I needed your input as I am deciding not to support the ministry that believes that (I've been a supporter for almost 3 years) because I've learned the truth and I see the new converts dropping like flies. . . The truth is, and there's no way to tarry for tongues, that God gives the utterance. The new converts are told that if they don't speak in tongues they don't really have "it (I wouldn't call the Holy Ghost an it.)" This is such a lie. Thanks, again, for your response as I really would rather hear from "Tongue Speakers" on this matter. P.S. English was one of my worse classes also! WalkingTalkingBible |

134 | What is the answer to this question? | Luke 20:4 | WalkingTalkingBible | 123357
I am asking God for direction in this situation. The person who makes the announcement is being obedient. I said to myself when I heard the statement being made that if they would focus on love more than tongues, the new converts will be able to understand tongues and all (not the gift). Love is most important. Thank you for your response. WalkingTalkingBible |

138 | Temple | John | WalkingTalkingBible | 119679
The temple (tabernacle in the O.T.) is a place of Holiness. God had the children of Israel to build Him a temple, which is where the ark of the Covenant was kept. The ark of the Covenant was a typical figure of the presence of God. The temple was built so that God could dwell among His people (Exodus 25:8). God is Holy and nothing unholy can even come near Him. Jesus says in Matthew 21:13, "It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves." The purpose of the temple (for us, church) is to praise and worship God, and His "house must be reverenced. In this dispensation, the Grace dispensation, our bodies are also the temples of God. We know that sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2), so that's why we have to die daily, repent, fast, and pray to keep ourselves worthy of the presence of God (Holy Ghost, anointing). God will not dwell in anyplace unworthy or unclean. 1 Corinthians 6:19; Romans 12:1 WalkingTalkingBible |

139 | who can explain to me? | John 1:1 | WalkingTalkingBible | 120333
Eveready2004, I just want to encourage you to continue to participate in the forum. You have been given the truth to your good question. We are not all on the same faith level, so there are going to be all kinds of questions - it's up to God's people to be patient and to rightly divide the Word of God (2 Timothy 2:15, 24-26). You seem to be seeking the truth and I don't want you to be discouraged from doing so. Please continue to visit the forum with your questions and concerns as you grow in God. There are all kinds of souls here in this forum just like in the world. Some know God and are filled with the Holy Ghost, enabling them to teach, some have theology and denominational backgrounds only, some are living in error and some may even teach what they think they know. We have to love them all. Remember, we are helpers one to another and just like our heavenly Father doesn't wish for any to perish, we have to be the same way. Continue to seek God for all of your needs and He will supply you. With the love of God, WalkingTalkingBible |

140 | Trinity | John 1:1 | WalkingTalkingBible | 160615
Hi Trinity, God is one God with three manifestations: John 1:1, 14 - "In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God. . . And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. . ." 1 Timothy 3:16 - "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." 1 John 5:7 - "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." Isaiah 43:11 - "I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour." It's like a woman who's a mother, a daughter, and a wife; or a man who's a father, a son, and a husband - one person, three different 'positions' so to speak. WalkingTalkingBible |
