221 | Bible version can become an idol? | Bible general Archive 2 | WalkingTalkingBible | 117766
Definitely, a Bible version can become an idol especially if the particular version strays away from the truth of the Word of God and is used for personal motives. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 says, "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." There are many versions of the Bible and just as many stray far away from the truth. This surely is not God's motive, but man's doing. The Bible was written in two languages: Hebrew and Greek. In studying, along with the power of the Holy Ghost ("Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come." John 13:15), use a concordance that breaks down the Hebrew (Old Testament) and Greek (New Testament). However, to answer your question, there are souls out there that would rather believe what a man has written in the recent past than what the Spirit of God has spoken in eternity past. Anything, or anyone, you put before God is idolatrous. WalkingTalkingBible |

225 | when was lucifer kicked out of heaven | Genesis | WalkingTalkingBible | 117653
Satan is an angel, or spirit, created by God. How does Job 1:6 prove that Satan was not kicked out of Heaven? He came to present himself like the rest of the angels. The angels ascend and descend all the time (John 1:51). Satan is not in control, he has to also submit to God. WalkingTalkingBible |

226 | WTB Show where is the devil kicked out. | Genesis | WalkingTalkingBible | 117652
In Genesis 1:2, we see that the earth, a creation of God, being without form, and it was void (emptiness) and darkness was present. One may question if God made the earth like that. Remember, God is perfect, having all power, and Holy - how could He create something formless and void? As God moved across the face of the deep He saw the potential for informity in His creation. Why, because the devil and his followers had been expelled from Heaven. Now in verses 3-5, we see that God created light. This light was not the sun, moon, or stars (which were not created until the 4th day). If this darkness had been simply natural darkness, then those natural lights would have been sufficient. However, the darkness that "was upon the face of the deep" was a darkness that only the light of God, better know as the Shekinah glory (Exodus 40:34-35) could separate. The light, which is the presence of God was divided, or set apart, from the darkness, the presence of the devil. I believe the devil was kicked out before the completion of the first day of creation. Revelation 12:4 also shows the devil and a third of the host of heaven being expelled from heaven. But since we know that God created everything in the beginning, then the expulsion had to have taken place before, or during the beginning of the creation of the earth. Revelation is not just a prophesy of the last days, it is the actual revelation of Jesus Christ, in whom all things were made (John 1:1-3,14). God doesn't have a beginning or end and Jesus is our beginning and end (which is God, His Word). Revelation 12 is a very good example of the summary of the beginning to the beginning of the tribulation period. The woman is the nation, Israel. The crown of twelve stars symbolizes the twelve tribes of Israel. The child is Jesus. This chapter tells us what went on in the beginning. Before the earth and heavens were created, all this had taken place, thus taking us to Genesis 1:2 where the devil had already been expelled from Heaven, he and a third of the host of heaven (Revelation 12:4).
228 | Job 1:21 why does he refer to God here w | Job 1:21 | WalkingTalkingBible | 117635
During Job's dispensations, God dealt with man via conscience and law as opposed to our dispensation which is Grace. It wasn't until Jesus that the devil was exposed. Job, and the other O.T. people didn't deal directly with the devil. They had no power against him because this was before the Day of Pentacost. Job knew God as having all power, he didn't know that God had a conversation about him with the devil. God had to fight the enemy for them as oppose to us, being given power via the in-dwelling of the Holy Ghost and the acknowledgement that we are not fighting against flesh and blood. In our dispensation, God has given His believers power (authority) over all the power of the enemy. For the second part of your question, 3 John 2 tells us that God wills for His believers to prosper and be in good health, even as our souls prosper. God loves to bless His children. When it's time for us to be taken to a higher level in faith, He may move some things out of His way. When we are giving more attention to the things and people He has blessed our lives with, and He's not first in our lives, He will move those out of His way. But as far as giving and taking, God has a loving motive behind all that He does. Whatever He permits to happen in our lives, it's for our own good. 229 | But do we have to sin? | Job 1:21 | WalkingTalkingBible | 117633
God doesn't allow evil so that He can get glory. He gets glory only we choose to do His will over our sinful ways. (Sorry, I forgot to put this in the last answer)

232 | But do we have to sin? | Job 1:21 | WalkingTalkingBible | 117625
Hi, I'm new here and I'm enjoying your discussion. I would like to comment on the "sin showing off God's glory." Yes, He tolerates evil and sin because of His love for us. Remember when He created the world? God created the world and man without sin. The devil had been expelled from Heaven (which was the darkness and lack of form and emptiness). The only way evil enters into the world is through sin. Man chose to sin against God and lost dominion to the devil. God is not glorified in evil. Because evil enters into the earth via sin, God gets glory when we return to Him through accepting Jesus and do His will. Sin glorifies His adversary, the devil.
