341 | Why replace a wolf for a lion | Is 54:10 | Val | 196699
Its the leopard and the goat in this passage. That was her point that the lion and lamb are lying in a pasture in peace. The lion is not trying to eat the lamb but someone told her it is a wolf and a lamb. Anyway the point is peace - there will be peace even among the animals. Hope this helps, John. Is 11:6 And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, And the leopard will lie down with the young goat, And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little boy will lead them. |

346 | A prophet | Jeremiah | Val | 196050
It really depended on the King whether to listen to God through His prophets. When we look at the kings they are listed as evil or good. God protected His prophets. The king and people at this time wanted to hear only good things and not bad things so the true prophets were probably hated by many.
347 | Is Jremih 30 about the finl days an trib | Jeremiah | Val | 210258
Dear Alishe: there is an interesting article that you might read that covers this topic called EXPANSION OF JERUSALEM IN JER 31:38-40: NEVER, ALREADY OR NOT YET? at tms.edu/tmsj/17b. Blessings Val
348 | Is God refering to eternal things? | Jer 12:5 | Val | 199982
In context which means look at the events happening around the verse, such as chapter 11 and chapter 13 along with the complete chapter 12 and ideally read the entire book; you will see that Jeremiah is called the weeping prophet. Pick up a book on a survey of the Old Testament and you will see what the book is about. Jeremiah is sad because his people are disobedient to the Lord. He is God's mouthpiece to them and they will not listen and are mean to him. Things are going to get worse before they get better. Go to a local christian bookstore and in the reference section you will find many helps to show you what this time in history looked like. Look for reference books on Jeremiah. It is always about eternity. Obedience and Disobedience is something the Lord takes very seriously. Blessings Val

It also gives information on the interpretive approaches individual commentators use. This helps to understand their approach. Hope this helps.
353 | Philistines still survive today | Jer 47:4 | Val | 199229
Genesis 10:14, Genesis 10:6,13 Noah,Ham,Mizraim,Casluhim from which came the Philistines. The land of Israel has only been referred to as Palestine since A.D. 136, when the Roman emperor Hadrian renamed the Roman province of Judea "Syria Palestina" as part of his effort to rid the region of a Jewish presence after the Bar Kochba revolt. Palestina is the Latin (language of Rome) equivalent to "Philistines." God gave the land to Israel in Exodus 23:31-33. Precept upon Precept I Samuel |

354 | God's decree on His elects - oppression | Jer 50:33 | Val | 199575
Azure, we know the reason that the people were oppressed was that they were suffering for their years of disobedience. However, the Lord always gave hope of restoration. And we see that as they did return under Cyrus. Since I interpret God's program for Israel separate from the program for the church I would say no to your question. Blessings, Val
355 | Discernment | Lam 3:40 | Val | 221519
Do a word study on the word "examine". Punishment as you call it is not always as a result of sin but it is best to talk to the Lord about it. |

356 | Will Sodom be rebuilt in the future? | Ezek 16:53 | Val | 214200
The 1000 year reign is centered around Jerusalem. You might do a word study on Sodom. The Ezekiel passages does not seem to address this question. Sincerely, Val
357 | A answer cut short? | Ezek 16:53 | Val | 214214
Yes I did read it and its context and looked for commentaries on it. I am wondering if Sodom stands for the southern kingdom. I don't know for sure and didn't immediately find anything on it. That is why I suggested a word study on Sodom. I believe you are talking about the city that was destroyed with fire. If you will note my first answer I said the 1,000 year reign will be "centered" in Jerusalem. I agree Christ will rule over all but his rule will center in Jerusalem. The nations will come up to Him there. I didn't say He wouldn't rule the whole world. I do study the whole bible and have studied both Revelation and the Kings and Prophets. I am thinking Sodom will never be restored until the New Heaven and New Earth. Maybe someone else has a better answer for you. The regulars who read this forum usually read through the threads so the question is not cut off. They will add to the thread if they want to. A word study will tell you if God says Sodom, the geographical city will ever be restored. Word studies are good things and I think it will require further research which I believe you can do on your own. If it is figurative language referring the the southern kingdom which had divided after Solomon then I think it is talking about the people. Since it says I will restore them from their captivity I am thinking it is talking about the people returning to the land. Maybe someone else on the forum has some insight for you. Sincerely, Val |

360 | where is daniels book | Dan 1:1 | Val | 213329
Dear crk5150: You can go to Preceptaustin.org and read to your heart's content. Just use the Bible reference to searh for Daniel 12. There are many good ones. I would recommend John MacArthur's commentary. The book is Daniel and is located in the bible. Its not a separate book. Daniel wrote down the revelation that was given to him and therefore we have the Book of Daniel located in the Holy Bible. Sincerely, Val |
