864 | New King Version | John 1:1 | Val | 197808
They are one God in three persons. I know this is hard to understand but if you do a study of the words God, Jesus and Holy Spirit when you study a book of the bible you will see the relationship of the three. Mark each one in different colors throughout the book and then write out each verse, first God, Jesus and then Holy Spirit. The bible will come alive as you see each one. Since you used the book of John, try using this book and do one chapter. When you see how wonderful it is you will want to do the second chapter and so on until you finish the book of John. It is fascinating how you get a different perspective on each one when you focus your attention this way. It allows you to slow down and really meditate on it. You could spend an entire week or more just meditating on the one chapter. Prayer is essential so start with prayer and ask the Lord to open your eyes so you may understand his glorious truths and ultimately to know Him better. He is a wonderful Lord and I pray that you will grow in the grace and knowledge of Him. May God bless you and Merry Christmas.Luke 1:30 The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. Luke 1:31 "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. Luke 1:32 "He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; Luke 1:33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end." |

865 | Scripture help for reasoning/decisions | Matt 4:7 | Val | 197715
Sometimes people need to get counseling for thoughts like this. Encourage her to get counseling and be sure to tell someone what she has said. Ask the Lord for wisdom in this situation. May God Bless you and Merry Christmas. James 1:1-6 James, a bond-servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes who are dispersed abroad: Greetings.Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance and let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be complete, lacking in nothing. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach and it will be given to him but he must ask in faith without doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. |

866 | Don't bring out past sins scripture? | Prov 17:9 | Val | 197713
Use this opportunity to witness for Christ Jesus. He has told us that if we confess our sins He is faithful to forgive us our sins and remember them no more. Tell this person or persons that the Lord promised to forgive you if you ask Him to and that is what you did. Tell them what you did was wrong and you have asked for forgiveness and the Lord has forgiven you. No more explanation is needed other than that. It is a sad fact that some people will never forgive us for our sins and that is a consequence we have to live with, but with Christ Jesus He has promised to help us to live through it with the power of His Holy Spirit. Ask for strength and wisdom and peace from Him. He is the One to whom we are responsible. May God Bless you and Merry Christmas. Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool. Isaiah 43:25 "I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins. |

This is the study method I use and have found it to be the best approach to bible study for myself and highly recommend it. This is what brought me to this website originally. Just focus on one book at a time. For instance, Matthew. When completed go to Mark. I am not omitting the Old Testament. I am providing a starting point. Its the best way to study and has been proven to be the best way for retention of what has been studied. I hope you will try it as well. You might try one of the short books that has only 1 to 5 chapters. Once you have done it let me know what you learned. God Bless. Oh by the way, do you know what God commanded the kings of Israel to do the first thing when they became king?
872 | Is this The Right Tongues?!!!! | James 1:20 | Val | 197674
Again I would direct your focus away from the gift and to the giver, our Lord Jesus Christ. Take your bible and mark every reference to Him. The next step is to write out by hand each of these verses. Start in Matthew and go through Revelation. Meditate on these verses and memorize them. Talk to Him in prayer. Use the verses you have studied in your prayers to Him. He will lead you in all truth through the power of His Spirit. May you grow in the grace and knowledge of Him. When you finish this exercise do the same with the Father God and after this exercise do the same with the Holy Spirit. Also mark pronouns and other words referencing them. May God bless you. When you finish these exercises let us know what He has taught you. Merry Christmas.

876 | Is this The Right Tongues?!!!! | James 1:20 | Val | 197649
Something is wrong with this picture you present. Do not exercise this gift again until you have your anger under control would be my suggestion. James 1:19 This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; James 1:20 for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. |

It is really hard to tell without futher information. It could be hormones, grief over some loss, etc. It is not a bad thing to show emotions when you think of what Christ Jesus has suffered and died and raised in victory giving us eternal life. Luke 7:44 Turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. Luke 7:45 "You gave Me no kiss; but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss My feet. Luke 7:46 "You did not anoint My head with oil, but she anointed My feet with perfume. Luke 7:47 "For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little." Luke 7:48 Then He said to her, "Your sins have been forgiven." Luke 7:49 Those who were reclining at the table with Him began to say to themselves, "Who is this man who even forgives sins?" Luke 7:50 And He said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace." |

878 | Can women preach in today's society? | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 197584
Matt 28:17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. Matt 28:18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Matt 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Matt 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Mark 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Mark 16:16 "He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. Luke 24:5 and as the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living One among the dead? Luke 24:6 "He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, Luke 24:7 saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again." Luke 24:8 And they remembered His words, Luke 24:9 and returned from the tomb and reported all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. Luke 24:10 Now they were Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James; also the other women with them were telling these things to the apostles. Acts 1:11 They also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven." Acts 1:12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey away. Acts 1:13 When they had entered the city, they went up to the upper room where they were staying; that is, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James. Acts 1:14 These all with one mind were continually devoting themselves to prayer, along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. Acts 2:17 'AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,' God says, 'THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS; Acts 2:18 EVEN ON MY BONDSLAVES, BOTH MEN AND WOMEN, I WILL IN THOSE DAYS POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT And they shall prophesy. Your question is can women preach in today's society? The answer is yes. Preach in society in the sense of proclaiming Christ the Messiah. If you are looking for women in the church preaching that is a different story. Hope this helps. May God bless. |

I am not in this discussion. I was encouraging New Creature for his excellent commentary. I see you have done the same in the past to those who you wanted to. The scripture I used is to me one of the most loved in the bible and used as an encouragment to New Creature.
