61 | What scientific discoveries match Bible? | Bible general Archive 2 | TommyS | 106331
Can anybody tell me what ligitimate discoveries science has made that have a "Scripture" to back it up? Also, I understand that there has been a number of Bible believing scientists over the centuries. I would like to know who they were and what they discovered or invented. Any imput will be appreciated. TommyS |

62 | Where ARE the four corners of the earth? | Is 11:12 | TommyS | 106318
THANK YOU TALEB. When I mentioned about from your discription of where the four corners were, cause it seemed to basically be over the oceans, it caused me to wonder how in the world can there be such on water. Now, I don't only understand, I too am excited that John was inspired to write such a statement in Rev. And I also read what you wrote to Tim Moran. Thanks for giving me more than I hoped. WOW!!Blessings upon you, Taleb. TommyS |

63 | Does Deut. 24:1 still apply? | Deut 24:4 | TommyS | 106201
BJH, you wrote: “When we look at divorce, we must take into account all the passages that speak about it.” Well, Jeremiah 3:6 says, The Lord said to me, “Have you seen what fickle Israel does? Like a wife who commits adultery, Israel has worshipped other gods on every hill and under every green tree. (7) I thought that after she had done all this she would return to me. But she did not come back. And though her faithless sister Judah saw this, she paid no attention. She saw that I HAD DIVORCED FAITHLESS ISRAEL and sent her away.” GOD DIVORCED Israel AND sent her away. If divorce is wrong, does this mean that God did something wrong? And IF divorce IS sin, then what does that say about God's divorce? Deut. 24:1-4 doesn't say divorce is wrong. It says after you are divorced and your mate marries another, and that other one dies or has a divorce, the FIRST "couple" can't get married again to each other. Which tells us that God will never "remarry" Israel again. TommyS |

Thank you Taleb for taking the time out of this busy season to share HOW the earth's corners were discovered. May God bless you abundantly for "going the extra mile". I'll be patient. :) TommyS |

65 | Where ARE the four corners of the earth? | Is 11:12 | TommyS | 105905
Taleb, is it possible for you to give me a few more details about what you provided about the earth's four corners? Does the article explain HOW they were discovered. I would appreciate it if you could fill me in. It sounds as though most of the corners are in the ocean. Thank you. TommyS |

I appreciate your comments, both on this topic and others involved with this forum. But, I must agree with Taleb. If you get a chance to read what he wrote, he never said anything about any box shape. He wrote to Hank about who discovered it and just because the bible doesn't say anything about man walking on the moon doesn't mean what we learned about that part of God's creation isn't valid information. Anyways, I somewhat received what I wanted to know, and appreciate what comments people have offered according to what they know or think. TommyS |

Makarios, sorry about that. I just now opened my e-mail and, lo and behold. Earlier this evening I came back to my computer, where the forum is on and happened to notice one from Taleb. I responded to his before I even knew you had dug up an answer. Taleb's was somewhat what I was looking for - in the "actual location" of the four corners of the earth. Very interesting, to say the least. While the info you provided is appreciated, I found it fascinating (is that spelled right?) that the earth actually does have four distinct corners. TommyS |

68 | Where ARE the four corners of the earth? | Is 11:12 | TommyS | 105608
Taleb, thank you for taking the time to locate an answer for my question about the four corners. I don't subsribe to any science newsletters so I doubt if that was where I first read about it. How it came to mind was I was reading about the four corners in Rev. and that reminded me. And you are correct. Most of what science has "proven" has a Scripture verse that explains it. Like the moon influences on the ocean to make rain and things like that. Thanks again, TommyS |

71 | Why not always wine for communion? | 1 Corinthians | TommyS | 105550
John15, thank you for the exhortation Paul gave us in Titus 3:9. I needed to "hear" that. Because of those words, I will simply drop the topic. TommyS |

72 | Why not always wine for communion? | 1 Corinthians | TommyS | 105412
Thanks for your response, John15. Sorry it took so long to get back to my orginal question. It dawned on me right after I asked it that I would be gone for an extended holiday over an extra long Thanksgiving. Should have waited. :) I REALLY am curious as to WHEN churchs started using grape juice RATHER than wine during communion. Your comment about "AA members being tempted or excluded", I don't follow. Surely - Paul wasn't thinking of some far-dated, secular organization that refuses to acknowledge the sole power of the only true God. Thanks anyway, TommyS |

75 | Why did Jesus MAKE John Baptize Him? | Matt 3:15 | TommyS | 102825
Hello, BradK I also saw it as "interesting" considering Jesus needed no purification. Now that you mentioned it, I recall another such instance. (Luke 2:22b-25) Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to Jerusalem to "present Him to the Lord, (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, "Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord") and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: "a pair of doves or two young pigeons". Wow, thank you sir! TommyS |

76 | Baptized in whose name before Matt 28? | Rom 10:9 | TommyS | 102819
Hello, Ray, thanks for offering an answer to my question. I'm sorry, but I failed to word it according to what I desire to learn. Allow my to reprase it, please. In John 4:1-2 it says that "Jesus was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John, although in fact it was not Jesus who baptized, but His disciples." This was at the begining of Jesus' ministry, and at the END of His ministry, Matt 28:19, He commanded those same disciples who had been baptizing all along to "Go into all the world, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the "name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." My question meant to be - if the disciples began baptizing a few years before, "IN WHAT NAME, or IN WHOSE NAME - did they do it? Seeing it wasn't until AFTER Jesus'resurrection that "this addition tidbit arrived". Any comments that might help? TommyS |

77 | Why did Jesus MAKE John Baptize Him? | Matt 3:15 | TommyS | 102814
John's baptism was a "baptism of repentence" so why did Jesus "make" John baptize Him? Why did Jesus NEED for them to "fulfill all righteousness"?
78 | Baptized in whose name before Matt 28? | Not Specified | TommyS | 102751
With all this talk about whose name one is suppose to be baptized in, what about all those people who were baptized BEFORE Matthew 28's command? And, in what "name" was Jesus Himself baptized? |

80 | HELP ME PLEASE...I am not content! | Rom 12:1 | TommyS | 102589
I spent a lot of time reading through this topic. It has changed coarse from its origin, yet I feel I must write something. Cajam, your obvious frustration, anger, bitterness, and self-righeousness sounds very familiar. Also you denial about the same things your words display those same traits. Did you use to pastor a church in North Dakota? If so, I see you have slipped back into that hideous pit, and you continue to refuse His Holy Spirit opportunity to snatch away those bad habits you apparently allow to keep a firm grip your life. Apparently, you are that "fired pastor", or else you have the same blind spots. If, so, I know you are still in that area, you can ask my uncle to have me call you. We need to have "another talk". If you are NOT that pastor, I apologize. It's just your attempt of a litgitimate argument has the exact same holes as that pastor. He also claimed the Holy Spirit was the only one who could correct him - no matter how wrong he always was too. I'll pray for you, either way. TommyS |
