Isn't the fact of the GATHERING more important than the supper? Deuteronomy 30:3 That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee. Deuteronomy 30:4 If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee: Matthew 3:12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. Mark 13:27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. Ephesians 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: Matthew 16:9 Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? John 6:13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Mark 13:27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. the angels/disciples are sent to gather those who are LEFT. The flood took all the others away, Noah and the 8 were left. G-d loves leftovers (Study the words took and taken and left and remain and remnant.) When isreal was invaded, and all were forcefully caught up/carried into captivity, the poor were left to inherit the kingdom Luke 6:20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. Job 5:15 But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty. Jeremiah 52:16 But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left certain of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for husbandmen. Jeremiah 40:7 Now when all the captains of the forces which were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed unto him men, and women, and children, and of the poor of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to Babylon; Jeremiah 39:10 But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, which had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time. Luke 14:13 But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: Luke 14:16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: Luke 14:17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. Luke 14:24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper. Revelation 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. Revelation 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; Deuteronomy 30:4 If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee: Isaiah 54:7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. Isaiah 43:5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; Jeremiah 23:3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. Jeremiah 31:8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither. |

Sorry bible believer, I probably posted in the wrong place, I'm new to this forum, and unfamiliar with all of this format/ program, I formerly posted at theology forums consisting of only Messianic Jews after giving up on most "Christian" boards years ago due to their bickering. Mot of my family have been Pastors here for I don't know how many generations, but before America became independant. I guess my only point was that it is the gathering, rather than the marriage supper, that I look forward to most.
23 | Blessed are the poor in spirit | Matthew | SomeOtherName | 201801
the parallel verse to that is Luke 6:20 which lacks the addition of "in spirit" but, in a nutshell, He judges and comforts and takes care of the needs of the poor, whether in spirit or in other ways. KJV Luke 6:20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. 25 | Why bring a sick to Jesus? | Mark 1:30 | SomeOtherName | 201773
but He had previously stated to the croud in Luke 4:17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, Isa 61:1 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Isa 61:2 20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. So, they knew he could heal people. |

27 | Finished and Done? | John 19:30 | SomeOtherName | 202236
Has anyone compared or done a study on "it is finished" and "it is done?" Are they the same incident; or a foreshadowing or fore-type? I'd like your thoughts please. Revelation 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. Revelation 16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. Revelation 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. John 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. Hebrews 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. |

28 | Jesus and the "good" theif at the | John 19:30 | SomeOtherName | 202237
Remember, the original texts didn't contain that comma. I told my daughter once, "I'm telling you right now, you are going to college." She was 5 years old at the time. She wasn't going to college right now, I was telling her right now. I believe "Verily, I say unto you today" was a common saying, as "I'm telling you right now." |

29 | Which commandment was he talking about? | 1 Tim 6:14 | SomeOtherName | 201775
Which commandment was he talking about? The 613 commandments, summarized as the 10 commandments, Deuteronomy 6 further summarized in 2 commandments, Mark 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. and finally in THE commandment (actually the one NEW commandment is the same as if you kept all 613 in SPIRIT) if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 1 Timothy 1:5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: 1 John 2:7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. 1 John 2:8 Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. 1 John 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1 John 4:21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. 2 John 1:5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another 2 John 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. So THE commandment, in one word (rater than 613 commandments, or ten commandments, or 2 commandments, or even one commandment, summarized as 1 word is .... LOVE) 1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. Love |

30 | Which commandment was he talking about? | 1 Tim 6:14 | SomeOtherName | 201786
1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. a "natural desire" for money or sexual impurity is not "Love" God IS Love 1st commandment is put Him first 2nd is Love thy neighbor as thyself Jesus stated that. If you do those two, you have fulfilled ALL 613. God IS Love, and shouldn't be equated to a desire for a thing or action. nothing changed. |

31 | Which commandment was he talking about? | 1 Tim 6:14 | SomeOtherName | 201795
True, Love requires either action or a refraining from something (which restraint is also an action) That is why the 613 are divided into two groups, positive mitzvot aseh (such as )Exodus 20:2 - To believe in God and negative mitzvot lo taaseh (such as Do not trust in any power but Yahweh. "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."(Exodus 20:3) ), each complimenting the other. Each of the mitzvot aseh is a 'to do' list, requiring action to do a thing each of the mitzvot lo taaseh is a "SHALT NOT or do not do this, requiring the "action" of restraint each of the 613 , whether to do, or a shalt not, shows an example of loving God and neighbor, however, Jesus exemplified that it is not an all-inclusive list, so if it isn't an ox in the ditch that needs returning to its master, but rather a lost bracelet or wallet, it needs to be returned to the rightful owner. |

"Isn’t it proper to understand the moral law fulfilled and adhered to" exactly, please examine the following "Jesus had no children." Actually, if we believe John, nothing was created without Him, All things were created By him, therefore, He created adam and is not only the father of the human race, but spiritually the father of all of G-d's children. ----------- "Jesus Touching the unclean" Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. Have you knowledge of the ashes of the red heiffer and the living water of separation/purification which was kept in the laver? Jesus was sacrificed outside the camp (the red cow was the ONLY sacrifice outside the camp) the ashes were stored in a clean place which was nigh (Jesus buried in a new tomb, because it was close) the ashes were added to "living water" (water which moved)9Jesus says He IS the living water. this water was used ceremonially in CLEANSING lepers People TOUCHING the cleansing living water of purification/separation were made clean, rather than the water being made unclean. Numbers 19:13 Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him. It was required that if Jesus IS that living water, that he touch the unclean, as that was the only way to cleanse them. Matthew 9:20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: Matthew 14:36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole. Mark 6:56 And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole. NOTE there is no mention of Joseph of Arimathaea, being made unclean by touching the "dead" body of body of Jesus, he didn't need to wash in the water of separation and stay outside the camp.. Mark 1:44 And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. jesus cleanses and sanctified us, we didn't make him unclean. if a dead thing falls in a small pot of water, the water is unclean, if it falls in a well, spring, lake ocean, the water is not unclean, Jesus is a fountain, not a small limited non-flowind dead body of water, but the Living water. IF JESUS touching the dead HAD made HIM unclean, HIs sacrifice would nOT have been accepted. Hebrews 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. Hebrews 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; It was common practice to try to touch the hem of a priest's garment, in effect that woman was acknowledging He was a priest, and the leper acknowledging that He IS the Living water of separation-purification by their attempts-requests. The ONLY time jesus was NOT supposed to be touched, is the same time a High Priest was not to be touched, while carrying the sacrifice TO the alter. John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. 1 Corinthians 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. -------------------- "Jesus had no wife." Yes he does. You are essentially married once you are betrothed (engaged) He will return to get his bride. |

Mark 7:15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. Matthew 14:36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole Matthew 9:15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. Leviticus 11:36 Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: Numbers 19:17 And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the burnt heifer of purification for sin, and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel: Numbers 19:20 But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean. |

"not what our Lord was referring to when he said He fulfilled the law" Jesus made a point that it is the spirit of the law, rather than the letter of the law that counts. Jesus may not have rescued a wayward ox and returned it to it's master, but He rescued the lost sheep. :) Please advise me of any part of the law you believe Jesus has not or will not fullfil in spirit. thanks |

35 | Which commandment was he talking about? | 1 Tim 6:14 | SomeOtherName | 201810
no one of corruptible flesh can "achieve perfect holiness. It must be imputed. 1 Samuel 2:2 There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. Romans 4:11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also: Romans 4:24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. belief requires a subsequent action, (faith without works is dead) John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; Titus 3:8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. Acts 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call. Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. So, the key words are believe g-d and believe ON him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead. (doesn't say believe IN, nor just to believe He existed at one point in time) |

Numbers 19:2 This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke: 3 And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face: 6 And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer. Numbers 19:9 And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin. Numbers 8:7 And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean. Numbers 31:23 Every thing that may abide the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of separation: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make go through the water. Exodus 40:7 And thou shalt set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and shalt put water therein. 9 And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin. 10 And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever. 11 He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days. Leviticus 14:5 And the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel over running water: Leviticus 14:6 As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water: Leviticus 14:8 And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent seven days. Leviticus 14:50 And he shall kill the one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water: running water is living water, as opposed to landlocked stagnant dead sea type water Joseph, who touched Jesus was cleansed, not defiled. Leviticus 11:36 Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcass shall be unclean. Jeremiah 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. John 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. |

Agreeed :) (Though I prefer The First London Confession of Faith (1644) to the Westminster Confession of Faith (1646). This document predates the Westminster Confession of Faith (1646). A second edition was issued as the London Confession of Faith (1649). I personally prefer to only cite scripture as proof texts, rather than anything written 1,500 years later. however, I don't disagree with you :) |

Very well stated. And, see, try as we might, we can't fulfill the comandments I adopted the omission of the vowel years ago in order to "not offend," and in so doing, I have offended, my appologies. |

39 | Which commandment was he talking about? | 1 Tim 6:14 | SomeOtherName | 201849
Question:Out of curiosity I ask, "Offend whom?" Answer: Since about 1996, I posted almost exclusively to Jewish forums or Messianic Jewish forums. I agree, God is not His "name" anyway, but a title. Romans 14:21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. If my brother was offended by me eating meat, I would refrain in his presence. I imagine that here I'll use the vowels here :) It is now a habit, formed over about 11 years of writing, so forgive me if I omit it accidently here. |

Correct, that's why it says "thy brother" I assumed we are all Christian brothers here, as we were on the Messianic boards which I used to post. It is the "brothers" I didn't and don't want to offend, that's why on this board I'll try to do as asked. |
