1 | Solomon the wisest man? | Not Specified | Shlomoh | 59484
Solomon the wisest man? Greetings my fellow brothers and sisters In 1 Kings 3:12 God says to Soloman "I will give you a wise and dicerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be." So does that means that there is no one who will be wiser than Solomon? Cause one good counter-example is Jesus Christ. Since Jesus is fully God and fully man. I am not trying to point out any inaccuracy(ies) here as I believe the Word of God to be God breathed and God inspired. In Proverbs 30:5 "Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. 6 Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar. " I would think that there will be someone wiser than how God annointed Solomon but I would need help finding scriptures to prove it. The way I see it is what 1 Kings 3:12 is saying is that assuming God made Solomon's IQ (or a standardized means of measuring wisdom) to be 200. Then no other man will be 200. They can be greater than or less than 200. Am I right to say this? I certainly do not want to add to His words. I am just curious not that knowing the answer would help in any way to my spiritual walk. Thanks for your time. :) |

2 | Proverbs 30 meaning? | Not Specified | Shlomoh | 59487
Proverbs 30 meaning? Greetings my fellow brethen, I am reading the chapter of Proverbs 30 and is having some trouble understanding it. Well the NIV version starts off like this "Sayings of Agur 1 The sayings of Agur son of Jakeh-an oracle:" Like the rest of the book, Solomon seemed to write it but for chapter 30, it looks like Solomon is quoting another person Agur. So who is Agur? The rest of the chapter has a few interesting constructs to it. Like ... three things that ... four that ... But after these contructs, they are always the four things. So what are the three things? An example: 18 "There are three things that are too amazing for me, four that I do not understand: 19 the way of an eagle in the sky, the way of a snake on a rock, the way of a ship on the high seas, and the way of a man with a maiden. So what are the three that are amazing? Anyone care to enlighten me? Thanks. Best Regards, Luke |

3 | what age does a boy become a man bibica | Bible general Archive 3 | Shlomoh | 157412
There is a Jewish custom that celebrate the child coming of age. It is called the Bar mitzvah or "rite of passage," a crossover from childhood to adulthood; a milestone in a Jew's life. Judaism deems a boy a "bar mitzvah" when he turns 13 and a girl becomes "bat mitzvah" when she turns 12. At that point the child, who is no longer a child in the eyes of Jewish law becomes responsible for his own deeds, spiritually, ethically, and morally. |

4 | What is the righteousness of God? | Bible general Archive 1 | Shlomoh | 59489
Greetings. Rom 3:22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. Rom 4:3 What does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." Rom 4:4 Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation. 5 However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness. 6 David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works: 7 "Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him." To me righteousness of God means that I believe in what His word says I am. I am a child of God. I was made righteous because of what Christ did on the cross. I am justified thru faith (Rom 5:1) not by my own works but by the obedience of our Lord Jesus Christ. I am dead to sin. Sin no longer has control over me. I am now slave to righteousness. (The whole book of Rom 6) Best Regards, Luke |

6 | Confused of the 10 Commandments. | Rom 13:8 | Shlomoh | 157411
God is not the author of confusion. Jesus came to fulfill the law (as in 10 Commandments) so it's the righteousness of Christ that we are to have faith in. The law is given to bring us to an end of ourselves so that we know that none of us can fulfill or keep the law as if you break one, you are guilty of all. Hence only Jesus is able to come and fulfill it. Once we know that we can never justify ourselves via the law, there really is only one way, which is THE way and that is via Christ. Believe on Him and what He has done for us. This is the gospel. |

8 | Solomon the wisest man? | 1 Cor 1:24 | Shlomoh | 59700
Ya I do like to keep God's word the way it is. I dun think I am contradicting myself. I am very clear on this. The bible said that "so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be" it never did say there will never be anyone better than you or worse than you. That's the point I am getting at. I am asking for verses to show that Solomon is the wisest man. :) Thanks for replying though. |
