2 | Speaking in tongues...not saved? | Bible general Archive 1 | Sctt | 40185
Hello raven I don't believe that you have to speak in tongues to be saved , this is just one of the gifts that God gave unto man. But I do beleave in speaking in tongues as well as prophecy. You seem to take most of what you beleave from 1Co.13:8-10. I don't see where you get that which is perfect is come, is the bible (although I to beleave that it is perfect). Jesus also was perfect but after he left us he sent the Spirit which gave unto men the gift of tongues as well as other gifts. So as I see it to beleave that the bible is that perfect which is to come is saying that Christ was not that perfect which is to come. Are they not the same? the word of God.I beleave that that which is perfect is refering to the body of Christ, which Jesus was the head.as seen in Eph.4:11-16. This is still in the future as we have not yet been made perfect in Christ.(what I mean by perfected in Christ is that we have not yet put away all our sins). Read Acts 2:15-21 Its says in the LAST DAYS I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh:and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams. Are we not now living in the last days? I hope this is helpful to all. in Christ Sctt. |

3 | what does 666 and 777 mean | Bible general Archive 1 | Sctt | 40539
hi y2j I beleave number 666 is the number of man, anyone who does not beleave in Jesus Christ already has this number.Jude verse 10 calls man a brute beast because they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam V.11 1Jn.1:18-22 states that even now there are many anichrists and they are those that denieth the Father and the Son.
4 | Are we expected to keep the sabath? | Bible general Archive 1 | Sctt | 42241
Hi Elisah I look at it this way the commandment was written in stone, you cannot erase it out of stone. the only way to get something out of stone is to break it. So unless you are doing a work for God on the sabath, teaching, ministering etc.,you are breaking the commandment. Paster Scott brings up a good point Christ is our rest, but resting in Christ is doing His work. If you look in the OT the preists were exempt from the sabbath because they did the works of God.MT.12:5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. |

6 | How did sin originate | Bible general Archive 1 | Sctt | 43881
Hi new creature you asked How did sin originate? I look at it like this:GEN.3:1-7 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden. Who is this serpent that is so subtil ( crafty , sly , shrewd ) and has the gift of speech? Unregenerated man ( man without Christ in his life ). Who else but man has the gift of speech , and can reason. You may say a parrot can talk but can it reason? Balaams ass spoke but it was God that opened her mouth NU.22:28 And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam. Nowhere is it said that God opened the mouth of the serpent. This serpent has the gift of speech and can still talk and reason today. Now some have said that the serpent lost its gift of speech as part of its punishment , but nowhere in the bible does it say this. Therefore we must conclude that the serpent can still talk today. Who else is this then but Unregenerated man. Now this serpent ( man ) comes and reasons with the woman to deceive her into disobedience to Gods command. Now in order to understand how the woman was deceived we have to look at what God says concerning the tree of Knowledge of good and evil. GEN.2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. What is this tree that can bring death to man? Now we know that death comes because of sin RO.5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin. Therefore we can see that it is sin that brings death to man , but what brings us the knowledge of what sin is? The law. RO.3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Therefore the tree of knowledge of good and evil is the law for by eating of the tree death entered into the world. Now is the knowledge of good and evil ( the law ) sin RO.7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. So then if the eating of the law was not sin what was? Was it not in the breaking of the commandment THOU SHALT NOT, the fruit itself was not the sin , for after God created all the trees He saw that it was good.Gen.1:12 So then why did God command man not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil if there was nothing sinful in the fruit. Is it not because God placed a covering over man in the commandment THOU SHALT NOT , so that man would not see his sinful nature (remember man was created outside of the garden ) because when man sees himself though the eyes of a righteous God his sins overwhelm him and he runs and hides from God , just as Adam hid himself when his eyes became open. Where else do we find the phase THOU SHALT NOT is it not in the commandments that God set down for all men. (Ten commandments ) Therefore the phase THOU SHALT NOT is a commandment of covering , if we listen to it we do not eat of our sinful nature, but we have a foreshadowing of the covering that Jesus Christ gives us. Therefore it was not the eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil that was mans sin but the breaking of the commandment THOU SHALT NOT. Now as to Lucifer I have heard 3 differant points of view on who he was 1st Satan, 2nd Adam ,3rd the Antichrist. I think the scriptures rule out Satan because we no that by man sin entered into the world. So I think it to be the 2nd or 3rd option. I myself lean towards the Antichrist. |
||||||
7 | What do you base this on? | Bible general Archive 1 | Sctt | 44118
Hi Raven I'll try to explain the 3 options as best I can. The first 2 i'll just touch on as I myself lean towards the antichrist. The 3 opinion will be in more detail.Lets start by looking at who Lucifer is , he is called the king of Babylon Is.14:4 and he is said to be a man verse 16. Now if Lucifer is Satan how come he is called a man? nowhere in the bible that I know of does it call Satan a man. So this rules out Satan being Lucifer. Now as to Lucifer being Adam it is taken from Eze.28:12-19 says thou hast been in Eden the garden of God,and speaks of the day thou wast created. Now we know Adam was indeed in the garden of Eden, and we know that he was created. Now because the word created is used here and God only created Adam (all others are born, their reasoning not mine) It is believed that this can only be Adam. But God uses the word created for more then just Adam as seen in Ps.102:18, Is.43:7,21:30,and Mal.2:10. So you can see the reasoning behind those that believe this to be Adam. Now as to the antichrist which is who I believe this to be. Is.14:13-14 Lucifer says in his heart I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Now read 2Thes.2:3-10 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. Are they not speaking of the same person. Now lets look in Eze.28:11-16 I will give way to Adam Clarke on this part as he understands Hebrew far better then I. Verse 12. Thou sealest up] This has been translated, "Thou drawest thy own likeness."Thou formest a portrait of thyself;and hast represented thyself the perfection of wisdom and beauty." I believe this to be the meaning of the place. Verse 13. Thou hast been in Eden] This also is a strong irony.Thou art like Adam, when in his innocence and excellence he was in the garden of Eden! Every precious stone was thy covering] Verse 14. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth] The irony is continued; and here he is likened to the CHERUB that guarded the gates of Paradise, and kept the way of the tree of life; or to one of the cherubs whose wings, spread out, covered the mercy-seat. Thou mast upon the holy mountain of God] The irony is still continued; and now he is compared to Hoses, and afterwards to one of the chief angels, who has walked up and down among the stones of fire; that is, thy floors have been paved withprecious stones, that shone and sparkled like fire. Verse 15. Thou wast perfect in thy ways] The irony seems still to be kept up. Thou hast been like the angels, like Moses, like the cherubs, like Adam, like God, till thy iniquity was found out. From Adam Clarkes commentary on Eze.28:12-15. Now look at this in the light of Is.14:12-14 and 2Thes.2:3-10 do they not all point to the antichrist. All scripture taken from KJV. In Christ Scott. |

Hi kburgee look at my note to raven to see a differant view
10 | What do you base this on? | Bible general Archive 1 | Sctt | 44205
Joe my analysis is not flawed , you take 2 verses and say this is talking about Satan , but the rest is talking about a man. You break up the flow of the scriptures to make them fit to you own interpitation of what they say. You also say go with what historically has been held by the church. read what Adam Clarke , Jamieson,Fausset,Brown and John Calvin have to say about these verses. You may be suprised just what the historical church held.In Christ Scott |

I'm new to this site so i'm not sure how it all works. can you tell me if you can transfer something that you have written and saved on a disc to this site for others to read.I ask this because of some of the questions I have seen regarding the first few chapters of Gen. such as where did evil come from , cains wife and others.what I have written is a little different then what you maybe use to reading. I do not want to cause a division among Gods people with what God has shown me conserning this so I ask that you pray for and with me to see if it ok to show this here.

Paul i now this is an old note that you posted but i'm new to this site and just came across it. I've read the correspondences you have had with others. and would like to add my take on this subject. Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman ,Yea, hath God said Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden. Who is this serpent that is so subtil ( crafty, sly, shrewd) and has the gift of speech? 16 | Where did Cain's wife come from? | Genesis | Sctt | 44210

17 | Cain and Seth's wives descended from who | Genesis | Sctt | 44777
Hi linjmer You asked were did Cains wife come from? Lets look at what the bible says.Gen.2:7 says And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;and man became a living soul. 1CO.15:45 explains this to be the first man Adam , And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Now what else in verse 7 shows this to be the natural man , it says that he was formed of the dust of the ground. Now the word formed comes from the Hebrew word yatsar meaning to squeeze or mold into shape , it has the same meaning as the word potter in JER.18:6. Therefore you can see that we are to be molded as the potter molds the clay , but molded into what? The image of God. and you cannot obtain His image except though Christ. Lets look back to see when natural man was created.Gen.1:24 It says And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind , now this living creature is the natural man ( mankind with all the different races) for the words living creature and living soul have the same meaning , they come from the same Hebrew words chay (living)and nephesh (creature) , soul. Now the word nephesh has this meaning in the Hebrew , 1 soul, self, life, creature, person, appetite, mind, living being, desire, emotion, passion 1a that which breathes, the breathing substance or being, soul, the inner being of man 1b living being 1c living being (with life in the blood) 1d the man himself, self, person or individual 1e seat of the appetites 1f seat of emotions and passions 1g activity of mind 1g1 dubious 1h activity of the will 1h1 dubious 1i activity of the character 1i1 dubious Strong's lexicon Therefore you can see by this that the living creature and the living soul are both man. Now that we know that man was created a living creature and there were more then just one man and one woman created lets look at Cain and his wife. GEN.4:17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. Here we have another question that must be asked , where did Cain’s wife come from ? This is a question most commentaries skip over because of the problem that it creates. And that problem is that Cain’s wife must have been his sister , as there were only Adam and Eve to populate the earth. This then would indicate that incest was okayed by God , but we know from Lev.18:9 And 20:17 that we are not to have sexual relationships with our sisters. Other commentaries state that in the beginning before God gave his laws that incest was okey because there wouldn’t have been any polluted genes. But if God hates incest now he would have hated it then for MAL.3:6 says For I am the LORD, I change not... Now we can do away with this problem of where Cains wife comes from if we look back to what was said before concerning the living creature in GEN.1:24. and that is the living creature is all the different races of mankind. Therefore Cains wife comes form one of these different races of man. This not only takes away the confusion of where Cains wife come from but also takes God of the hook of being the originator ( by implication because he only created Adam and Eve ) of incest. In Christ Scott All scripture taken from the KJV. |

Hi Emmaus let me see if I can explain myself better.. GEN.2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. 20 | Cain and Seth's wives descended from who | Genesis | Sctt | 45149
Hi Kalos the laws were in place and we can see this in the following scriptures. 1) Gen.26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. 2)Ex.15:26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee. 3)Ex.16:26-28 28And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws? 29See, for that the LORD hath given you the Sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. 4)Gen.4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. 5)Gen.13:13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly. Jude:7 7Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. 6)Gen.39:9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? 1)2)These commandments laws and statutes were before the law at Sinai. 3) The law of the Sabbath was before the laws at Sinai, here is one that was repeated is this also redundant? 4)Why was Cain punished for killing Abel if the commandment thou shalt not kill was not in effect? 5)Why was Sodom and Gomorrha punished for fornication, and going after strange flesh if the laws were not in effect? 6Why did Joseph say to sleep with this married woman was a sin against God if the commandment thou shalt not commit adultery was not known to him? There are more but I think you can see were I am coming from , from these few I have quoted. The reason why they may have been written down at Sinai could be so that man would not forget or say they did not know this was one of Gods commandments. Also were they not given twice at Sinai? Was it redundant of God to have to give them twice because man is so slow to learn? |
