21 | Love your enemies(Satan?) and pray for.. | Matthew | SSprln | 38959
When Jesus says to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, He means exactly what it sounds like! We are to love everyONE and to pray for the people who DON'T love us. I don't think we should love the devil, because in James (chapter 5, I think!), it says to "resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
22 | But Satan is our enemy, so how? | Matthew | SSprln | 39075
I'm not sure, but I think Satan fits into another category, because he is not human! Because if we love our enemies, we can win them to Christ by showing them the example that Christ gave for us.
23 | Heaven | Matt 22:30 | SSprln | 2185
I don't mean to be nasty or offend anybody, but will we be able to have sex in heaven?
24 | Non-denominational theology? | John 3:16 | SSprln | 1740
I'd like to know a little about Non-denominational theology *in comparison* to Baptist theology. Thanks!
25 | what is baptized in the Holy Spirit | John 14:16 | SSprln | 2180
The baptism of the Holy spirit is when we are initially "filled" w/the Spirit upon believing in the Son of God and receiving life through His name and grace.
26 | what is baptized in the Holy Spirit | John 14:16 | SSprln | 2249
Yes, I agree w/your "amendement." :) I guess I failed to make that clear.
27 | Ques. for Grace andTruth | Romans | SSprln | 51454
The Plan of Salvation goes something like this: (1) Realize you're a sinner. Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (2) Know that the penalty for sin is death. Romans 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." (3) Understand that Christ died and rose again for you. Romans 5:28 says "And God demonstrates His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (4) You can be saved through faith in Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 says "For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast." (5) Saying a prayer doesn't save anyone, but it is a vital part of accepting Christ as your saviour. You need to tell Him that you realize you're a sinner, and that He died and rose again to take your sin away. Ask Him for His forgiveness, and tell Him that you want to live for Him. |

28 | How have the offices changed? | Eph 4:11 | SSprln | 2181
Ok, I'm sure someone's already answered like this, and I'm just adding my 2 cents. To give you some advice, hopefully good, I would contact a well-known Christian leader--like Charles Stanley or Adrian Rodgers (or Tim LaHaye or Jack Van Impe, just to name a few)--of your denomination, not that *your* denomination has the right view point, but...). Anyway, I think for every gift that has gone "out of office," there's a secondary for it. Exp. tongues used to be speaking a language w/o previously learning it. Now, I believe that the gift of tongues is God giving you a passion/talent for speaking another language. See what I mean? This is just my opinion, so take it or leave it. I hope I helped you!
29 | Sabbath because it is a rule? | Col 2:16 | SSprln | 2182
I didn't even read your whole note/question/reply/whatever it is, but I don't think we have to honor the ten commandments any more. I don't know the verse, but it says that we should esteem every day the same, and that we should live for the Lord every day. The Bible says that the letter (law/10 commandments) killeth. We are in the new covenant so we should be living according to the new testament. Hope I helped.
30 | Sabbath because it is a rule? | Col 2:16 | SSprln | 2615
Gosh...I did not *mean* that the 10 commandments should not be obeyed. I simply stated, to the dismay of *some people* :(, that under the new covenant we should obey what the NT says, *if*, and *only if*, it contrasts to what is stated in the OT.
31 | Why must I go to church? | Heb 10:25 | SSprln | 51450
Other christians are positive influences on your life. Hebrews 10:25 states: "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
32 | another hypothetical, applied ethics | James 4:7 | SSprln | 47779
I would do nothing and let him die. My reason: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. |

34 | Only 144,000 virgins in heaven? | Revelation | SSprln | 1245
I don't really know much about the Muslims, and I haven't brushed up on my JehoWitTheology lately, but I don't think that the Jehovah's Witnesses believe that only 144,000 people are going to heaven...I think they rank people sort of. I KNOW that they believe that the most faithful 144,000 will be the 144,000 mentioned in Revelation, though.
35 | What are the seven seals? | Revelation | SSprln | 1246
The 7 seals are the first set of judgements in the Tribulation Hour, which tech. also include the Trumpet Judgments. According to my understanding and interpretation, they are to occur during the first quarter of the Tribulation Period. By the way, I reccommend reading either REVELATION UNVEILED (Dr. Tim LaHaye) or REVELATION REVEALED (Dr. Jack Van Impe).
36 | Good study guide for Revelation? | Revelation | SSprln | 1247
REVELATION UNVEILED (Dr. Tim LaHaye), REVELATION REVEALED (Dr. Jack Van Impe), COMMENTARY ON REVELATION (Dr. J. Vernon McGee).
37 | Good study guide for Revelation? | Revelation | SSprln | 1248
Right. I read this book too: "Revelation: God's Word For the Biblically Inept." I agree whole-heartedly that it is a good book for new-comers to the book of Revelation, and it made things like the one-world religion and the 7 hills of Rome, etc. very easy to understand. I also agree, though, that it did leave me asking a lot of questions.
38 | BEST COMMENTARY ON REVELATION? | Revelation | SSprln | 1249
Jack Van Impe: REVELATION REVEALED. Not because of his writing talent, but because of his near-perfect theology.
39 | Entertaining? | Revelation | SSprln | 1406
Exactly what did you mean by "entertaining?"
40 | read and understand the question | Revelation | SSprln | 1407
The best commentary on Revaltion (not "Revelations") WOULD be one that is easy to understand for new-comers and one that is accurate. I've already given you 3 titles.
