21 | Who is God referring to? | Gen 1:26 | Ric | 109
Genesis 5:1 This is the written account of Adam's line. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. 2 He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them "man. " (NIV) ................... Reading this verse rules out the idea that man has been created in the image of God and his heavenly court of angels. It does show us that man is created from the image of God alone, so there we have a plural reference of God being two or even three persons. I believe this is one of many supporting arguements for the Trinity of God. |

23 | Who Killed Goliath? | 2 Sam 21:19 | Ric | 12558
1 Samuel 17:51 Then David ran and stood over the Philistine and took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. When the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled. (NAS) 2 Samuel 21:19 And there was war with the Philistines again at Gob, and Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim the Bethlehemite killed Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver's beam. (NAS) Who Killed Goliath? David or Elhanan? |

(NAS) 1 Chronicles 20:5 And there was war with the Philistines again, and Elhanan the son of Jair killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver's beam. 26 | How best to translate Ps. 45:6? | Psalm | Ric | 565
Clearly the Jehovah's Witnesses are wrong again. I don't know if you know about their "Bible" the "New World Translation" or "NWT"? They (the Jehovah's Witnesses) change quite a few verses to suit their false teachings. Like in John 1:1 (In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [NAS]), the NWT changes the text to read something like this; "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a God." ..... That verse the JW's translate into their "Bible" is changed so that it reads like Jesus is not God. (sigh) Well, it sounds like the verse you quoted sounds like another "mis-translation", and most likely is that way to support their false gospel. I don't know if this helps any, but I see you are on the right track! In God's Grace, Ric |

27 | What will this song make people fear? | Ps 40:3 | Ric | 183
Fear stated here is the awe and reverence felt in the presence of a higher authority. Only for god.
28 | Is this dancing for joy? | Ps 149:1 | Ric | 1795
PS 149:1 Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints. PS 149:2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King. PS 149:3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp. PS 149:4 For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation. PS 149:5 Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds. (NIV) Yes, this is dancing for joy! This was stated in the NIV Bible Commentary: The resultant expression on the part of the godly can only be joy. They are portrayed as "dancing." The people of God regularly celebrated the Lord's victory and blessing in dance (cf. Ex 15:20; Jdg 11:34). Also at home "on their beds," they rejoice in the glory bestowed on them by the Lord. |

29 | Is this dancing for joy? | Ps 149:1 | Ric | 1819
No problem. I grew up in the Southern Baptist church and they frown on dancing. That is so sad, because that is pure human legalism. God frowns on legalism. We can dance for joy, with one's spouce, or to honor God any time we like. Go dance and have fun. Note, please dance in a good "clean" way to not offend anyone or not to offend God. And have some fun too! In God's Grace, Ric |

31 | Satan can't read minds | Jeremiah | Ric | 116
I don't know if Satan can read minds or not, but I know he will try to tempt you with all of his might. Just remember that God won't allow Satan to tempt you with something you can't handle. ................. 1CO 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it. (NAS) |

Daniel 3:25 He said, "Look! I see four men loosed and walking about in the midst of the fire without harm, and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods!" (NAS) ..................... Yes, Nebuchadnezzar did say that the forth person looked like the "son of the gods", but does the refferance of "gods" mean "God"? |

35 | Daniel: Son of man? | Dan 8:17 | Ric | 136
In Hebrew, "son of man" means an individual man. The Lord used this phrase in addressing Daniel, and over 80 times in addressing Ezekiel.
36 | Why "son of man"? | Dan 8:17 | Ric | 160
The phrase identifies Him with humanity (Heb 2:14-18) and with the heavenly Son of Man (Da 7:13-14).

39 | What does this verse mean? | Matt 6:7 | Ric | 125
Prayer is central to a believer's life. But Jesus said we should avoid meaningless, repetitive prayers offered under the misconception that mere length will make prayers efficacious. Jesus labels all those who pray repetitiously like this as pagan! Jesus is not forbidding all long prayers or all repetition, only meaningless prayer. Jesus himself prayed at length (Lk 6:12), and also repeated himself in prayer (Mt 26:44), but it was not meaningless prayer.
