22 | Isn't Baptism neccessary for salvation?? | Rom 10:9 | One | 73097
The thief on the cross is such a mute point. It’s like saying Adam and Eve was not baptized. Look at Romans 6 there is speaks of baptism as being symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ and it is our death, burial, and resurrection. So how could the thief be baptized into Christ death when Christ had not even die??????
23 | Servanthood? | Matt 20:28 | One | 73088
look at every thing Jesus did. When His disciples were fighting Jesus got down and washed there feet. Jesus teaching revolved around leaders serve. 24 | How can God change his mind? | Jer 18:10 | One | 73082
I have been married 15 years now and I have a daughter that is nine years old. My daughter is bad about leaving Barbie dolls around the living room. Once I told her if she left her Barbies’ lying around the living room I would put them up. Keep in mind I was 100 percent sure she would do this some time in the future. So why didn’t I just scoop up her Barbies’ and put them in the closet? I think the answer is obvious the warnings, admonishments, and punishments we give our children are not because we lack understanding it is because they do. It is not for our benefit but for theirs. Keep in mind the whole purpose in God saying I’ll do this or that is to change our behavior, just like parents do with are kids. |

25 | in John 21:15-17 What 3 words for love | John 21:15 | One | 73025
I think this hits it right on the head with what new creature said. To me Jesus asks about three different levels of love. 1. Do you love (agape) me "more than these?" Ie rest of disciples. 2. Do you love (agape) me? Or do you even have agape love for Me? 3. Do you love(phileo) me? Here I think is why Peter was sad Jesus finaly asks "Do you even love me like a friend? |

29 | Jehovah and YHWH | Bible general Archive 1 | One | 72474
Jehovah and YHWH are the same. Yhwh is Hebrew and Jehovah is the English equivalent. It is kind of like John and Juan. To the Jews YHWH was sacred and they never said it aloud. So when ever a Hebrew would come to the word Jehovah or YHWH while reading the Bible publicly they would say the word Lord or adoni. So while Jehovah is the true form of the word given the historical contest Lord is not wrong.
30 | Not praying for one's self? | Bible general Archive 1 | One | 71812
I agree to a point but look again at the prayer of Jabez that is a pretty selfish prayer. James point is don't ask for things we will only spend on our pleasures. Let me give a good example of this. I lady I new In Jackson Mississippi who gave the keys to their house to my brother in-law and sister who were missionaries vacationing states side. They were really impressed at this families hospitality (The house was really nice). The lady who gave her the use of her house said if you ever need to use our house again just call and if we are not home we keep a key hidden in s special rock in the front flower bed. My sister asked, "You mean I can stay her even if you’re gone." She said, "YES!" Somewhat surprised my sister said why do you do this? The lady told her how this was here dream home she said when they looked at it her and her husband prayed about it and told God if He blessed them with this gift that when ever the Lord needed it they would never refuse. I think this is a good example of asking for "Things but not to only spend it on our pleasure." |

31 | Not praying for one's self? | Bible general Archive 1 | One | 71765
Gen 24:12 He said, "O LORD, the God of my master Abraham, please grant me success today, and show lovingkindness to my master Abraham. Ps 86:16 Turn to me, and be gracious to me; Oh grant Your strength to Your servant, And save the son of Your handmaid. Ps 119:29 Remove the false way from me, And graciously grant me Your law. Neh 1:11 "O Lord, I beseech You, may Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant and the prayer of Your servants who delight to revere Your name, and make Your servant successful today and grant him compassion before this man." Now I was the cupbearer to the king. 1 Chr 4:10 Now Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, "Oh that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would keep me from harm that it may not pain me!" And God granted him what he requested. Please consider the following verses, specially the prayer Jabez. |

32 | Why does God bet with Satan in Job? | Bible general Archive 1 | One | 71716
James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone Keep in mind both Jesus and Job were tempted, not Just Job. Since God cannot temp anyone God allows Satan to tempt His people. Why? Look what Job said about his trial. Job 23:10 "But He knows the way I take; When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold. Consider also what James said. James 1:2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, James 1:3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. James 1:4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. God allows our being tempted to bring about spiritual maturity and strength. |

35 | What is the Link of faith and works? | Gal 5:6 | One | 71625
Well I as I said in the proceeding note Bible class teaching and preaching I believe are gifts, these gifts can be developed as well. When I say it’s a gift is like God made some people to be naturally good at public speaking, with a quick wit. I don’t think though for a minute this lets us off in our role to be a witness of what Christ has done for us. I remember a guy named Brad who attended a church with me in Indiana, Brad had the IQ of a ten-year-old child. Brad did not have the ability to do a Bible study or teach a class. However, Brad when out every chance he could with another man from church and offered to cut peoples lawn if the would listen about Jesus. Did Brad have the gift to teach, No! Did Brad teach others about commitment to Christ, Yes! Hope this answers you question, one. |

36 | What is the Link of faith and works? | Gal 5:6 | One | 71171
Im not sure what you mean by teaching. In some ways I see teaching as a gift that not all people have. Not every one can get up and teach a Bible class, although I do think every Christian should be a role modle and teach in this way. I would also say I would steer clear if you are trying to come up with a check list of I have to do X, X,X, and X before I can go to heaven. Well I am at work and leaving for the rest of the year, ha ha. I won't be back till Jan 6. |

37 | Praying to Mary isn't worship? | Bible general Archive 1 | One | 71169
Well I looked the web site you gave and we can agree to disagree, how any one can read Rev 5:8 and see in between the lines dead saints hearing our prayers and interceding on our behalf is beyond me. It just says it’s the prayers of the saints, I always have seen this as the living saints prayers. I will say this I think we do ourselves and God a great disservice when we focus on what can we do as Christians and not on what please God. When we pray to saints we are at best promoting a practice not clearly approved by God or the Bible.
38 | Praying to Mary isn't worship? | Bible general Archive 1 | One | 71164
To me comparing my saying to my brother or sister in Christ, please pray for me, to someone bowing to a statue and directing a prayer is like comparing apples and Fords. One you are praying to the other your not. So yes I would say that the problems arise in saying "praying to Mary." Also it adds to it when I know some of the high Maryology of the Catholic church makeing her a co redeemer with Christ. Now while I know and admit much of the practicing Catholics do not support some of the higher Maryology of their church. We must see how Higher Maryology has affected the laity in their veneration and prayer to her. We must look at the Big Picture. |

39 | do pets go to heaven? | Eccl 3:21 | One | 71159
Eccl 3:21 Who knows that the breath of man ascends upward and the breath of the beast descends downward to the earth? Eccl 12:7 then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it As a theologian I see from scriptures all dogs don’t go to heaven. As a pet owner, like your self, I can’t help but to think God may brink back for us our special pets to live with us in heaven. |

40 | What is meaning of Seek ye first ? | Gen 4:4 | One | 71157
Seeking first God's kingdom to me means we put God first in all things. In giving, in living, in loving etc. Think how many problems we could solve if we put God first. Jesus once said, "The poor you will always have." Think about that and ask why? Do we not have enough food? No, we have food in silos that are rotting so we have enough food. Do we not have enough money? In this country alone we have billions of dollars of disposable income we have enough money and resources to wipe out hunger and poverty many times over. So what do we lack, Compassion! People don't seek God first. We give not of our firsts but what we have left over, many more don’t give at all. We Christians are not innocent either, when I was a full time minister there were a couple of times I saw families break up because one or more of the partners found someone else. Once in counseling a couple told me they just were not happy any more and this other person made them happy. They added and I feel God wants me to be happy. To many times we put what we want above what God wants. I hope this helps peace one. |
