21 | Men and Angels | Bible general Archive 3 | Noveta | 160717
I have read your response. Thanks you and everyone for helping with my studies. You mentioned this scripture "Jude 1:6-7 "And those angels not having kept their first place, but having deserted their dwelling-place, He has kept in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of a great Day; 7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them, in like manner to these, committing fornication, and going away after other flesh, laid down an example before-times, undergoing vengeance of everlasting fire." You have given me many scriptures to research. I know I have more reading and research, but I needed to ask this question. Sorry, I am very confused. This does tell me that angels left their dwelling place. As many have done, many angels were sent to rely messages and communicate with humans. However when I read Gen 19. I get the impression the men were after angels(which are also called men interchangeably??), not the other way around. I am confused as to how this explains that it is possible that another species can be created in Gen 6. This would different be another species (angels and humans ) ?? That even though the desire for men to be with the angels was there, but it doesn't state that it happened. When I read Gen 19, it appears the angels were in control of the situation because they pulled Lot back in and Gen 19:11 says "And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness..so that they became weary trying to find the door". Thanks for your help |

22 | John 10:31 | Bible general Archive 3 | Noveta | 163015
Hello everyone, I am have tried to search before asking this question, but am not successful. I am reading the book of John and in Chapter 10. I would like someone to explain to me what does it mean to blaspheme. From what I have found, if you disrespect or break any of the laws of the ten commandments or if you have disrespected the Holy spirit? However in John 10:31 they are accusing Jesus to blaspheme because he is saying he is God and he is God's son correct? . 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30 I and my Father are one. 31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. 32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? 33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. 34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; 36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? 37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. Also, I do not understand Jesus response, "Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken" What does he mean, written in your law,Ye are gods? God bless Novie |

23 | Jesus response | Bible general Archive 3 | Noveta | 163019
I am sorry, but your reponse is way over the top of my Head. Are you saying Jesus was telling them he had authority to be called God because he is within the law and that he was the law. Because he said ", that the Father is in me, and I in him." Him and his Farther hold the same attributes (nature) and are equal therefore he is authorized to say he is God? He was using Their law as example, by saying are you allowed to call yourselves gods within your own law because you have authority within YOUR law. Well the same concept or rule holds for him and his farther? Thanks for your help. God Bless Noveta |

24 | Jesus responds | Bible general Archive 3 | Noveta | 163022
Yes this helps. Keeping it simple always helps me. But this leds me to this question. In the King James Version it says they stoned him because he was saying he is GOD. But Jesus response and says he is saying he is the Son of God. Calling your self the Son of God doesn't mean you are saying you are GOD. Many religions believe Jesus is the Son of God. But they don't believe he is GOD. But he is saying he is the Son of God in this verse, but later when he also says "that the Father is in me, and I in him." Which means he was saying he is GOD, correct? You know they say the important question to answer, is who do you say that I am? Many people say they are safe because they do believe he is the Son of God, but they don't have to believe he is God? Which they say is how Peter responded to this important question. How do I respond to that? Someone is asking me these important questions, thanks again for your help. God Bless, Noveta |

People who read the bible and believe. want to do God's will. It is a choice you make. Continue to read the bible if seek the truth. We are all sinners. Are you willing to be convicted of your sin Romans 1. I have sin, I acknowledge that it is a sin. I want to do God's will. Paul struggled with sin (not the same sin) Romans 7:14-25. The lasts verse say "O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God-through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin".. I am a new christian. I was baptized over 10 years ago. It is only until now, I see you have to change you life and read the Word.. A true believer lives a different life from the world. That is when you begin to hear his voice when you read the Word. He will direct you in the way to go. If you allow him.. |

Hello, I don't know how to ask this question with any biblical references.. So here goes. Where in the bible does it say Jesus has never change, he is the same? Jesus is God so he should have the same attribute, when it says God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. |

28 | What is considered an Idol | Bible general Archive 2 | Noveta | 140568
This scripture says clearly In Exodus 20:3-5, God gives Israel this command: "You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God." How do you justify wearing a cross? It clearly says do not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the either beneath or in the waers below. If I wear a cross I know in my heart I am not wearing it as an idol. And the is the point I try to make, even though this is a symbol that is in the form of something in heaven, I am not idolizing it. Meaning I am not placing it before God. However, I have to continuously explain myself to people who don't understand, which is okay. I just want to make sure I am correct. To me it is a symbol that reminds me what Christ has done for me. But some people feel I am going against God's commandment and it causes confusion. To me it welcomes communication and my chance to explain God's grace and his plan for our salvation. Is that any other scripture that says people have created heavenly symbols and it was okay with GOD. |

30 | Barak faith in Deborah or God | Judg 5:12 | Noveta | 177964
I am doing a bible study on the book of Judges. Topic of discussion is Judges 4 and it talks about putting your faith in a person and not GOD. It talks about Deborah chastening Barek for not going by himself to battle. I had this very question and wanted to know if there was anywhere else in the bible that confirms this scripture/chapter to be a scripture that teaches that a person who is commanded by GOD (through another person) and it displeases GOD. Or if this is not the point of the scripture let me know, I realize some scriptures are sometimes meant to give you a background or thorough knowledge of something bigger not necessarily there to pull something out of context. I mean it clearly states that Deborah was not pleased with his decision, but yet he was commended or used as an example of a person showing faith in Hebrews 11:32. If you are talking to a group of teenagers and telling them to have faith in GOD but they point out this scripture and say, the person was still commended for his duties in Hebrews 11:23, what is your answer. thanks for your help in my quest for biblical knowledge. God Bless |

31 | God spoke using Deborah | Judg 5:12 | Noveta | 177968
This is a little off the topic but your reply made me wonder about the salvation of the people in the Old Testament. If I need to create another link I will. But my questions is, how are the people saved in the old Testament. I am fairly new in being a Christain and started my studies in the New Testament, now I am seeing what great lessons to be learned in the Old Testament. So many lessons dealing with very detailed aspects of life. And you actually can appreciate what is happening in the New Testament after understanding what Isreal went through in the Old Testament. But when people were spoken too in the Old Testament, like Deborah was it through the Holy spirit like we are? I know there are times in the Old Testament where GOD physically spoke to Moses, etc. Thanks you have been a great help already. God Bless Noveta |

33 | GOD gives Jesus the power to save? | Prov 3:5 | Noveta | 151499
I was reading some commentaries on the bible and it stated "He is the only man who is now the Mediator between God and mankind (1 Tim. 2:5). It is Jesus Christ to whom God has given the power to “save to the uttermost” all who call upon his name, because he ever lives to make intercession for us (Heb. 7:25)." I believe that Jesus is GOD. For the most part I have many scriptures that support it. However, I sometimes run across some that I need explanation. For example the above one says GOD gave the power to save. Is this a correct commentary to say GOD gave Jesus. Since Jesus is GOD how is he given the power to save? I thought he always had that power. There were just many prophecies that need to be fulfilled before it was "actualized". Noveta |

35 | Jesus in the flesh | Matt 1:23 | Noveta | 132850
I have a question, regarding the following scripture: 1 John 1Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. What is meant by Jesus coming in the flesh. Does it mean, Jesus in human form? Many religions, teachers, leaders, people believe this but they have different views as to what he came as and what he left as. |

36 | Jesus in the flesh..what does this mean | Matt 1:23 | Noveta | 132855
What other scriptures can I use to explain what in the flesh means. Because I know someone very personally that says he believes Jesus came in human form. To him, this is what is meant by coming in the flesh, nothing more. He says to say it means "God came in human form". Is adding to the scripture. He just doesn't believe that Jesus is he God. He says he is the Son of God. And they point to scriptures that say believe Jesus is the son of God and you are saved. He says this should be good enough. He says Jesus did not make a point to mention he was God, so why force the point. Please help. God bless Noveta |

38 | Jesus called Good teacher | Mark 10:18 | Noveta | 131097
Thank you very much for your translation. I understand and agree with Philippians 2:5-8. This scripture is very important because it explains what some people think are contradictions in other parts of the bible. You have explained this very well.. These are the types of scriptures I must learn to read in context and in harmony with the entire bible. You are right.. people tend to take statements like this to prove their points. Thanks Again. |

39 | Understanding Mark 10 | Mark 10:18 | Noveta | 131270
Could you agree with this intepretation? First of all I believe Jesus is God. But I also believe that Jesus came to serve not be served Matthew 20:28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Honestly, My first impression (Mark 10) I would say that Jesus is saying, Why are you calling me God, God is the only one who is Good. Because if you notice, after that the child did not call him Good Teacher..anymore. But to read in harmony with other scripture. Jesus purpose is not to say hello I am God. His purpose is to teach that God is Good. Just as he teaches that God only can save in the next verses Mark 10:26-27 "The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, "Who then can be saved?" Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God." Saying Through God you are saved. We know Jesus saves..he is our God and Savior Titus 2:13 - "the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ" For me, this is an example of how important it is to read and study the bible in context. You read scripture in light of scripture. do you agree? Noveta Your sister in Christ |

40 | Is Jesus being called God or a God? | John 1:1 | Noveta | 129646
I have been talking to a Jehovah's Witnesses. We were discussing Hebrews 1. I was trying to point out the diety of Christ in Hebrews 1-9. As you know parts of this scripture reference the Psalms 45. My questions is: If the Psalms is addressing the king. Is the Psalms calling the king God. as in Hebrews. The Jehovah's Witnesses, say even though the king is being called a god doesn't mean he is the One True God as it in in Hebrews. He says that Jesus is being referenced as a God but not the one True God. Saying that God in this context means a God. And he goes on to say how can God, Your God ..be one in the same? |
