Has anyone ever studied the Tabernacle in the Wilderness? If not, I highly recommend the following website. It is awesome! You will see Jesus and the plan of redemption is every single part of the Tabernacle - from the threads in the door coverings to the Ark of the Covenant itself. This site has pictures of each item which makes it even more vivid for you. Hope you enjoy this as much as I have! http://www.domini.org/tabern/ Be blessed in our Lord Jesus Christ, Mrs B in Georgia |

2 | Need info on Strong's Concordance | Not Specified | MrsBinGA | 62862
Concerning Strong's Concordance: does anyone know if James Strong, the author-compiler of the concordance, was a Greek scholar? The abbreviations following his name on the title page are S.T.D., LL.D and I have no idea what they mean nor how to find out. Also, Thayer's Greek Lexicon: does anyone know if Thayer was a Greek scholar? And how would I verify it? Any help will be most appreciated. |

3 | Shepherd's Chapel t.v. cult - need info | Not Specified | MrsBinGA | 114495
Shepherd's Chapel - does anyone have material on this t.v. cult? My husband and I have a dear friend who, we have just learned, is an avid viewer of Arnold Murray's (founder and teacher on S.C.) "teachings". But without documentation from Shepherd's Chapel "ministry" our friend will not listen to our refutations. We have found a wealth of info on the internet which "says" what Mr. Murray teaches, but the so-called documentation is either tape #s and/or t.v. broadcast dates; nothing in writing and nothing tells us how to order these tapes or broadcasts. Shepherd's Chapel website doesn't even have material for sale; just a free "Mark of the Beast" audio tape. Any help/suggestions will be most appreciated. Donna in Georgia |

4 | Bible teachers/pastors-help! | Not Specified | MrsBinGA | 134495
Do any of you Bible teachers/pastors experience overwhelming discouragement and/or depression prior to you teaching/preaching? This has been an ongoing battle for me from the first of August when I truly believed the Lord wanted me to have a Bible study in my home. We are doing Beth Moore's study on the Fruit of the Spirit. Then last Frida, 3 days before the class, I developed a "sty" on my eyelid! I've never had one in my entire 57 yrs. of life! I'd appreciate honest answers and how you deal with this. I'm fully aware these are attacks of the enemy, but I can't seem to press through to victory. I end up cancelling the studies, which is so wrong, I know. |

6 | PRICE30 PIECES OF SILVER | Bible general Archive 1 | MrsBinGA | 38612
Approximately 18 dollars in U.S. coin, or a little over 3 pounds ten shillings, English. Thirty pieces of silver was the price of blood when a slave was accidentally killed by an ox (Ex. 21:32). Taken from the book "Manners and Customs of the Bible" by James M. Freeman, p. 384, section "Pieces of Silver." |

8 | Meaning of the name "Gethsemane". | Bible general Archive 1 | MrsBinGA | 48553
Gethsemane is of Aramaic origin and means "oil-press". In Matt. 26:36 it was called a "place" or farm (Greek word "choorion") to which probably the "garden" was attached. It was the favorite resort of our Lord with His disciples (John 18:2), the shade of its trees affording shelter from the heat and the privacy so congenial to Him. Gethsemane was situated on the Mount of Olives just east of Jerusalem, across the Kidron Valley and opposite the Temple (Mark 13:3; John 18:1). From its name scholars conclude that the garden was situated in an olive grove that contained an olive press. Attempts to locate the exact site of the garden have been unsuccessful. Many Christians have agreed on one site-the place which Constantine's mother Helena designated about A.D. 325. But at least two other sites are also defended by tradition and have their supporters. The gospel accounts do not provide enough details to show the exact site of the garden. (Taken from Fausset's Bible Dictionary and Nelson's Illustrated Bible Dictionary) Hope this helps. |

10 | IN THE BIBLE WHAT DOES REVEREND MEAN | Bible general Archive 1 | MrsBinGA | 48731
It doesn't. The only place the word "reverend" is used is Psa. 111:9: "He sent redemption unto His people: He hath commanded His covenant for ever: holy and reverend is His name." (KJV) The Hebrew word here is yare' (yaw-ray') and means "to fear; morally, to revere; caus. to frighten." If you call your pastor "Reverend" it would be a title of respect, meaning you "revere" him or his position. I, personally, address my pastor as Pastor, which means "a shepherd" (see Eph. 4:11). This title truly characterizes him. |

Angelface, you have asked this question before. Also, you can find the answers to all your questions by researching them yourself instead of depending on this Forum to do it for you. And by doing so you will learn the Word much better, which I'm sure is your goal in the first place. (smile) If you don't have a concordance or study aids, here are two excellent on-line sites you can use: http://www.biblegateway.com/ http://www.blueletterbible.org/ |
