2661 | Searching for the truth | Rev 1:1 | Mommapbs | 78100
Greetings FytRobert! See Rev 21:25 There will be no night - God is our Light - His Presence casts out darkness! Jesus paid the cost of admission for us - eternal life in Heaven is a free gift. The Church or body of believers is called the Bride of Christ. Does a wife "earn her keep?" We are called children of God. Do children have to "earn their keep"? Lastly, yes, I believe that we will recognize one another. I hope you find encouragement through your searching of God's Word! mommapbs |

2662 | Searching for the truth | Rev 1:1 | Mommapbs | 78238
FytRobert - "THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND WHICH HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM." 1 Cor 2:9 Dt 29:29 says, "the secret things of God belong to God." !!!! Have you ever planned to surprise someone you love? How did you feel in anticipation of their reaction to what you had planned? What could or would ruin the surprise? Have you been delightfully surprised by someone who loves you? Multiply this by infinity and that is what you can expect to find in Heaven! God has a plan for each of us that stretches out into eternity. I suspect that God is just as anxious as you are to see it all unfold! Blessings on your day! mommapbs |

See 1 Cor 2:10-16 God keeps secrets for many reasons, but He always has OUR BEST interests in mind. Anticipation can be a wonderful experience as it keeps us focused on what will be rather than what is. Paul reminds us that "these present suffererings are not worth comparing to the GLORY THAT WILL BE REVEALED in us!" (Romans 8:18) mommapbs |

John 20:14-18 Who did Mary Magdalene see? John 20:19-20 Who did the disciples see? "See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have." Luke 24:39 Who did Thomas see? After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; 1 Cor 15:6 When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, "Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, Rev 1:17 Who did John see? Jesus said to Thomas - "Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed." John 20:29 See Luke 24. " . . .these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name." John 20:30 Dear friend, you can not convince your brother to believe. Just keep praying that the eyes of his heart may be opened to receive he Truth. Blessings, mommapbs |

In this passage, instead of focusing on an individual "being," perhaps the word "messenger" is a better description of what these seven angels actually are. The message of the seven individual churches mentioned in Revelation has continued significance as each is broadcast across the centuries of time.
2667 | Leaving the church mad! | Rev 3:1 | Mommapbs | 84878
"By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:35 It seems to me that your church is not characterized by love for one another, much less even respect! Perhaps a return to the elementary teachings about forgiveness should be considered by the Pastoral staff. Corporate confession should follow personal confession of sin in the church. The members must first recognize the plank in their own eyes before they go about demanding that others remove theirs. (Seems to me that a speck is not what anyone is seeing here!) Jealousy is bred by a desire for approval or belonging from others. And when we don't get what we want, we get mad. But have we forgotten that we already have this (approval and acceptance or belonging) in Christ - seeking it from any one but God is sin! And you are right to be grieved over what has happened to your church as a result. If God has gifted you or granted you a blessing, it is yours. If others are jealous of what you have, it is because they do not realize what THEY already have in Christ - salvation for starters! Love them as Jesus commands. Remember that you are not alone in your hurting. I will pray that God comforts you in your situation and brings about a healing for the ministry at your church. mommapbs |

2668 | Leaving the church mad! | Rev 3:1 | Mommapbs | 94968
Greetings! Godly discipline is necessary and yet as you have pointed out, God is in charge of that! May you continue to grow in your relationship with Him, but do not forsake His body, the church, just because you have had a poor experience with one part of it! Blessings to you and yours, mommapbs |

2669 | wish you were hot or cold | Rev 3:16 | Mommapbs | 83245
Greetings! As I have been thinking on this sad state of affairs within the Church of the "last days", could we consider also this possibility of "lukewarmedness?" I suspect that as the Lord examines the heart, He sees the motivation behind the "deeds" of this "church." The Lord challenges us to be introspective here. "Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold. Mt 24:12 I suspect that the root cause of "lukewarmedness" is the result of apostacy (lawlessness) within the church. "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their OWN desires," 2 Tim 4:3. (EMP mine) (Psalm 37:4) When we delight in the Lord our desires will reflect the will OF the LORD! In what should we delight? "but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I DELIGHT IN THESE THINGS," declares the LORD. Jeremiah 9:24 - EMP mine! Seeking to know the Lord is to delight in Him. As a result,His desires will become OUR desires!(Psalm 37:4) THESE(God's desires, His will for us to know Him) are the treasures that we are to store up, these are the precious materials that will withstand the refiners fire.(1 Cor 3:13) As an illlustration: If you came to my house and looked around, you could have anything EXCEPT those things which my child made for me.They are the only things that have true value to me. It is the same way with God's children. Only the things that God's Son does through the life of the believer will be preserved. Those who "perform" to receive God's approval, have missed the message of Grace.(They have exchanged sound doctrine for lawlessness.) Their actions deny the workmanship of God (Eph 2:10)and the activity of Jesus Christ to live His life through us. Gal 2:20 These are the "lukewarm", those who love has "grown cold." For further study contrast Luke 12:21 and James 5:3 with Mt 6:19-21 and 1 Cor 3:11-13 mommapbs |

Great Scriptures - thanks. RE Hot or cold, yes I agree, it is the "lukewarm" that we are to reject. Just as a soda left out of the fridge will lose its coldness, so will coffee lose its warmth when removed from the pot! IN HIM! mommapbs |

2671 | Why woe the rich and well-fed? | Rev 3:17 | Mommapbs | 29733
Good question KamanUCI! Jesus tells us that HIS grace is sufficient for us (2Cor 12:9)and the He will supply all our needs . . .(Phil 4:19) All too often, according to this warning to the church at Laodicea, those who are satisfied by the fruit of their labor are blind. They fail to recognize that there is a famine in their soul. When we have no needs, it is difficult to see spiritual poverty. Jesus said to the rich young ruler, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God!(Matthew 19:24) Indeed it is much to mourn and sorrow over for those who trust in their own strength will enter eternity without God! No amount of "air miles" will take the rich (or the poor for that matter) to heaven! Jesus is the only way. Apart from Him,we can do nothing! |

2673 | What is this "open door?" | Rev 4:1 | Mommapbs | 30373
Greetings Nolan, Emmaus and Ray! Thank you for your insight. I am still chewing on this. After looking up some additional references (Matthew 24: 33-4; Matthew 25:10; John 10:9) I am getting a different view of this "Door!" I am reminded of the door on the Ark - God shut that one, will this door be shut too? How long will it be open? Thinking about the reference in Rev 3:20 to the door of our heart (which is closed until we choose to open it) and contrasting it to the heart of God which is OPEN, (God is patient , not wanting anyone to perish 2Peter3:9) is also thought provoking. (Further shows that we are createdin His likeness - each of us have a "door" of desire or a "will.") Yes, I know I'm stretching WAY out there! But this is how God seems to lead me along - with "object lessons"! Not being a Greek scholar limits my exploration, but having the Spirit of Christ I believe it is necessary for me to continue to seek until the truths the Lord wants me to know are revealed! (And I pursue His Truth with the full knowlege that this may not be until I get to Heaven, then of course it won't matter!)Blessings to you! Mommapbs |

2677 | What is this "open door?" | Rev 4:1 | Mommapbs | 133530
Greetings today Nobel - I enjoyed reading your post. Thank you for sharing these things with me. The "door" of Rev 4 is a reminder that it is only through CHrist that we enter into worship, which is one of our God-given purposes. Those who worship do so in Spirit and in Truth . . . John 4:23-24. Your post contines to reaffirm what God has been teaching me for many months now . . . "Apart from ME, you can do nothing!" (John 15:5) Indeed, He is the ONLY DOOR though which we find peace with God and fulfillment of who we are IN Him. Blessings, mommapbs |

2678 | The Broadcast Studio in Heaven | Rev 5:11 | Mommapbs | 48138
"The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show HIS SERVANTS (emphasis mine)what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw--that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near." Revelation 1:1-3 The phrase "then I looked" is used four times in The Revelation of Jesus to John. As I was thinking about how Revelation unfolds in such a jumbled way, a modern day example came to mind. Picture being in a broadcast studio. Before you are television monitors, each capturing a different scene. At times we might be intructed to watch a certain event and at other times our eyes might wander from screen to screen. We could report what we were viewing, but because it was all happening silmultaneously, it would be difficult to place each vista in its proper sequence. Without information and guidance, the viewer might not know if he was watching footage from the past or film of the present. (We know in John's case, all that he was seeing was in the future!) The Apostle John might as well have been in a similar situation as he watched the future unfold before his eyes! We residents of the 21st century have the ability to comprehend what John could only describe in first century language. (Perhaps, at times, even John chose to report his vision in a "politcally correct" manner!) Coupling the Old and New Testament prophecies, we are able to begin to recognize a pattern and perhaps even begin to establish an order of sequence for events of the future. I believe that if we would read The Revelation with this illustration in mind, we might have a better understanding of what is happening today as well as what will happen in the very near future. For as John recorded what he was seeing, he may well have jumped from "monitor" to "monitor" and then, he may have wandered back to ones he had already written about. This might be a possible explanation for the way The Revelation was recorded! As we read this womderful part of God's Word, I believe it makes no difference which "screen" we choose to watch - for all will bring a blessing as promised in Rev 1:3 . Therefore, let us, as HIS SERVANTS, to be thankful that we do not have to be really concerned about the order of events -for we know that they will happen, in God's way and in HIS timing. We can be assured on one thing - in the END, GOD WINS! (and so do we!) PS: Notice that the Conclusion of The Revelation is the same as the Prologue: "The angel said to me, 'These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent his angel to show HIS SERVANTS (emphasis mine)the things that must soon take place.' " Revelation 22:6 |

2680 | Rider -Jesus or Anti-Christ | Rev 6:2 | Mommapbs | 86677
Greetings! Notice that the rider has no arrows! (See Ps. 45:4-5) Please read the following taken Wrom: OQKEDOTWFAOBUZXUWLSZLKBRNVWWCUFPEGAUTFJM The second question fostered by the first seal concerns the identity of the rider. Out of the many possibilities offered, we prefer the person who will later be identified as the beast from the sea (Rev 13:1). As the primary antagonist and counterpart to the Lamb in the Revelation, the beast best accords with the description given in the first seal. First, the rider is mounted on a white horse. This is compared to the Lord who rides a white horse when He comes at Armageddon as detailed in Revelation 19:11-21. This has led some commentators to argue that the reader is Christ Himself. This can hardly be the case given that Christ breaks the seals. Equally, it is clear that the seals initiate events on the earth in connection with the end of the age during which the Lord will return to earth from heaven. During this period, there is no prophetic indication that the Lord will initiate this period by conquering on the earth. The white horse imagery is the first indicator of the rider’s identity. As the imitator of Christ and world-deceiver, the beast fulfills his destiny. The white horse is a part of his deception. The second descriptive detail associated with this rider is a bow. The bow is an ancient instrument of war. This rider is prepared for war. The third descriptive detail concerns a crown. The crown (stephanos) denotes rule or authority (II Sam 12:29-30). The fourth and final descriptive detail concerns the rider’s conduct—"he went out conquering and that he might conquer." To rule over others by conquest is the goal of this rider. As will be evident later, these are descriptive details related to the beast. The Lord Jesus predicted that the end of the age would begin with a dramatic increase in false proclaimers. These false proclaimers will proclaim one message, but have false motives (Matt 24:5). Do check out this web site! mommapbs |
