2441 | Flesh of Jesus admit and separate? | Heb 10:20 | Mommapbs | 155576
Is the veil Christ's flesh or do the words "that is" refer to "a new and living way?" In reading the Amplified, might it be both? Does the flesh of Jesus admit and separate? |

2443 | Who is guilty as charged? | Heb 10:29 | Mommapbs | 94980
According to this verse, WHO is guilty of trampling "under foot the Son of God and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace"? |

2444 | Who is guilty as charged? | Heb 10:29 | Mommapbs | 95053
Greetings, you wrote: "The ones who are trampling on Christ are the ones who are rejecting his sacrifice and death on the cross for them. He being Christ was crucified one time for all sinners." Yes - this is an important truth, one that we must remind ourselves of daily! Jesus died for me - He took the punishment that I deserved and satisfied the wrath of Holy God - be cause, while I was His enemy, He loved me! (and you too!) We would do well to apply this truth in relationships with others that are difficult. Blessings, mommapbs |

2445 | Who is guilty as charged? | Heb 10:29 | Mommapbs | 95056
Greetings and thanks for your reponse! Isn't deliberate and willful sin (rejection of Christ's atonement for our sin) uncomprehensible? Each of us knows that we are "deficient" in some way, we know in the core of our being that we don't measure up . . . now let's place what we know about ourselves in the Light of God's Holiness - woe is me! Throughout Scripture we see the record of God's response toward unbelief - indeed it is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God! And all that wrath against sin was poured out upon and satisfied by the death of Jesus. Now, did Jesus die for the "godly" or the ungodly"? Romans 5:8 tells me that while I was a sinner, an enemy of God, Jesus died for me, the ungodly. So, when I am offered the forgiveness and righteousness that come to me by faith, how could I persist in unbelief (deliberate and willingly sin)? How glad I am that I didn't, and yet the sad reminder of this verse is that there are those who do - they reject the Truth, not only about themselves, but about the free gift of grace - the Supreme love of God . . . ddemonstrated ONCE for ALL - no wonder Jesus said, "It is finished!" Greetings New Creature! You wrote: "So I don't see how this could refer to unbelievers." I guess I am a Forum participant who has a different opinion! First of all, the word "punishment" is a tip off. Christ took the punishment for our sinfulness upon Himself at the cross - His death was the "propitiation" for our sins and for the WHOLE WORLD. (1 John 2:2) As believers, we have no fear of God's wrath or punishment for our sins. Those who are guilty, are those who reject Christ - and the punishment for those who have a knowledge of the Truth and deliberately refuse to believe can expect to be punished even more severely - my opinion based upon this Scripture. Jesus died for the ungodly, (which we all are)- Romans 5:8 - yet from God's eternal perspective, Jesus also died for the godly (which many ungodly will become by faith in Him). If we say that this Scripture is for believers, we deny the "finished" work of Christ" and if this is so, then there is no sacrifice for sins left! Well, this is how I am led to believe. Consider this - we are saved from God's wrath by Jesus' atonement for our sin on the cross - this knowledge will not free us from the fear of punishment - but our faith in this will! Romans 8:1-3 Blessings, mommapbs |

New Creature - there are many who will also agree with your position, for a time, I too was living under fear of punishment for the sin I recognized in my life - all that it did was to rob me of the joy of my salvation (my complete and total forgiveness in Christ) and kept me focused on MY performance (rather than what God in CHrist is doing through me 1 Cor 2:10). Remembering that Jesus died for ALL, changes the way that I respond to those who mistreat me - their sins as well as mine were paid for, how dare I harbor ill-will toward them!? (And yet, at times I still do . . . does this mean that I "trample" what Christ has done for me - of course not, for I have accepted/received His gift and He will not take it back. I am secure in His hand.) Consider Felix in Acts 24: 22-27. He knew the Gospel message, he was even frightened by the result of its rejection - judgement - yet did he receive it? Are there not many folks today who listen politely to the gospel, they may even regularly attend our churches, Bible Studies, sing in the choir, etc and go about their lives in an orderly and moral manner . . . yet they see no need for anything more; they think they have done it all right, and yet their hearts are uncircumcized; they know all about Grace, but have never recieved it. Hence they live under a performance based order that is indeed and "insult" to the work of the Holy Spirit. I'm not trying to change your mind, just showing you how God changed me. Are those who shrink back to destruction referenced in v26? Can we say that those who have heard the Gospel and refuse to believe it (those who refuse to accept Christ as their propitiation for their sin) are those who "go on willfully sinning" ("those who shrink back to destruction")?

Greetings to you Makarios - I trust that your "completion" is faring well with you and your bride! Thank for the commentary. Is unbelief is the root of all sin? From these verses could we gather that there is a point that God says "no more"? He gives the opportunity to accept or reject His sacrifice; His offer of grace. Therefore, those who have had it extended and reject it are willfully sinning. This is a different position from those who might try to use this passage as a case against the eternal security of the believer. Any other thoughts here? Blessings, mommapbs |

Greetings Doc - I've just returned from a vacation cut short by some family illness. Actually it is an anwser to prayer for me - this dear one will be going home in a "better way" than previously expected - sad times ahead but rejoicing that she knows the Lord gives us confidence and assurance. He has provided wonderful caregivers and perhaps will use this as a means to bring unbelieving family members to a saving knowledge of Jesus. You crafted that answer well. Thanks! If we go back to the Garden, we see the birth of sin and God's merciful response! Though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God (Rom 1:21) So, when an individual is apostate, blaspheming God, my attitude is this: I am grieved, distressed and prayerful that the eyes of their hearts will be opened, but if they enter eternity apart from God, that grief turns to a kind of anger - how could they reject such a great salvation? How could they not love God who love(d) them so? Now, hang with me here. While still alive, we are to love those who hate God as He loves them. After they die and go into a Godless eternity, their iniquities follow them Ez 21:24; Hos 9:9 -does He remember the sinner? What is God's attitude toward the unredeemed in eternity? Does God continue to love them? What should our attitude be? Sorrow to be sure, but at this point, aren't those who reject God eternally evil? We are told to "hate evil" - therefore chould a righteous anger toward evil asuage our feelings of loss and grief? Thanks for exploring this with me! Blessings, mommapbs |

Greetings Makarios! Knowing Christ differs from knowing God in Romans 1:21; Mt 25:24. Mt 25:25 "see what You have is Yours." Is it? Did the slave recognize God's ownership of him? Imo, if he had, he would have honored the Master with what had been given to him. Might the measure of faith (Rom 12:3) that God gives to each of us be a "talent"? God has given man an awareness of Himself and a measure of faith to respond to this awareness. People can know God and still be apostate. This is different from knowing Christ - belief, faith in His finished work; responding to God's love in Christ with the measure of faith that God has given. Comments? Blessings, mommapbs |

Makarios, you are speaking of saving faith. I agree, apostates and unbelievers do not have this. The danger is, imo, that there are those who "say" they believe in God, yet do not know that they do not have the faith that is approved by God. Would you agree that there are those who know about God but do not "know" Him? Did the slave "know" his Master as he claimed? Could the talent represent what God gives us - faith - faith that is meant to be placed in the finished work of Jesus Christ, not in the ground. (Adam?) "He also has planted eternity in men's hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy]," Ecc 3 :11 (AMP) From this have I erroneously concluded that everyone has an "awareness of God?" Man has the ability to choose - to exercize faith in God (as evidenced in obedience to believe in Christ as God has commanded 1 John 3:23) or reject God - the wicked slave buried the talent. He did not respond to what the Master had given him.(Heb 11:6) He chose his way instead of the Way of the Master. What is our responsibility toward those who are apostate? (I am facing this issue right now with a friend who refuses to believe.) Thanks for your input! Blessings, mommapbs |

2453 | Operate on faith or endure? | Heb 11:1 | Mommapbs | 23848
Faith always has an object. Jesus is the object of our faith. We believe God because of WHO HE IS; we are confident that He will do as He promises. But do we leap off a bridge because He says in Jude 1:24 that "He will keep us from falling?" Hardly! We must be very careful to not abuse God's Word! God's plans for our lives do not come in a neatly wrapped box, ready for us to tear into and enjoy. Instead, His plan is most often hidden, waiting to be discovered! There is great joy in seeking and finding the "surprises" of God! In order to help you sort out your situation may I suggest the following: place your wants and God's will in separate categories until you are sure that they are aligned. Do not not trust your "feelings." Faith is not about feelings, but it is being confident about WHO and what we cannot see. You believe that your calling is to help others. You want to quit your job. Where does God's will figure into these statements? If God has indeed called you to serve others, are you sure that it is specifically "personal training?" If it is, then God will give others for you to serve. But, before you "leap" I would encourage you to spend much time in prayer and in searching God's Word for direction. He will be faithful to answer you when you call upon Him! Sometimes He says, "Yes;" sometimes He says, "No;" and other times He says, "Wait a while." After this, please seek the counsel of a mature believer. God's plan will be clear when what He says by His Spirit through His Word, through prayer, through experiences He gives you, and through other believers is in agreement. You have faith in Jesus. This faith enables you to endure the period you are now in! I call this "God's waiting room!" God's Word tells us to wait patiently for Him! If your hope is in Jesus - He knows what you need and will provide, but it will be in His timing. Don't rush God; let Him make the path straight before you! Sometimes, He has to get out heavy equipment to move some roadblocks - but it's worth the wait! |

You asked: “Wouldn't most of us do God's will if we new exactly what it is?” Sadly, the answer is no. It is our human and sinful nature, still riddled with pride, that so often asserts itself causing us to think we know a better way – our way not Yahweh, pun intended! Look before you leap asking: Will my choice or decision bring glory to God or to me? Will this enable me to fully rely upon God? Will this strengthen my relationship with God? You enjoyed success in the past, but perhaps you are afraid to STAY put now! You observe that the person you are working for has had a history of past failures. You also observe that he is a “believer and a great guy.” He terminated someone and has offered the position to you, so obviously he has a need that you may be able to meet. You state, “I see so many obvious mistakes that are being made and nothing being done about it.” These are facts. Perhaps God will use YOU to be His instrument of change here! Now compare this to what you have written: “I felt a heaviness over me, something is not right here. But I felt obligated to stay.” Don’t trust feelings to direct your course of action; feelings should only confirm what you already know. Perhaps God has a lesson for you, or perhaps your boss, to learn through this experience. You are focusing on the past when you write: “Everything else in my life seemed to line up when -you were working full time as a personal trainer-and I loved helping people to attain their fitness goals. In some cases, it -your work- completely changed them as a person. By that I mean, lifting their self-esteem and confidence.” I must ask: Where is God in this picture? Everything is just about you and what you are doing. Where do you see His plan and His Hand in your experience? How did God use this to shape and refine you, drawing you into a closer, more dependent relationship with Him? Did your experience bring those you were with into a closer walk or awareness of the Lord? God is always on the move, He calls us from something, to something, for something. I can’t encourage you enough to keep looking to Him for direction. Get into His Word. He will speak to you from it! Do not rely on the past, but thank God for those things that you have experienced! Press on! Be excited about what God will do next in your life. He loves you and wants you to follow Him, even if it means that you wait for a while as He prepares the way for you. Romans 8:28 reminds us that all things work together for good to THOSE who love God and are called according to His purposes. Focus on the word THOSE – this means that things God allows to happen in my life are not always just for MY benefit – they are GOOD FOR OTHERS as well. God has allowed your life to intersect with this man whom you declare is a believer. He has obviously made some costly mistakes. Don’t second-guess God based upon that past performance either! He may have placed your boss within the sphere of your influence for you to become God’s ministering instrument, to bring confidence and self esteem to both of you!. You wrote: ”I feel (There are those feelings again!) like I'm not truly trusting God if I don't step out and start working to get more clients . . . shouldn’t I be actively working God's plan? Yes, this is a good choice – to follow God’s PLAN for your life, to depend upon Him to equip you for whatever it is that He has prepared for you to do. Ephesians 2:10 Don’t confuse your ability as a personal trainer with the gifts that God has given you. Abilities are things we can do on our own; gifts are dependent upon the work of God. We should be exited about working with Him to use these for His glory! I honestly don’t know what it is that God intends for you to do for Him, but I do know that HE will reveal it to you when you seek Him with your whole heart. Read my note on Psalm 37:4. Jesus tells us to “Seek FIRST HIS Kingdom - that is His Sovereignty and Lordship over your life- and His righteousness -found only in Jesus- and all these things -what you need to accomplish God’s plan for your life- will be given unto you!” May these words dwell deeply into your soul and give you encouragement and blessings! In Christ, Mommapbs |

2455 | How has ART fed your faith? | Heb 11:1 | Mommapbs | 84147
Greetings, the art of Bill Hyer is especially meaningful to me. A couple of years ago I attended a gallery that had several of his paintings. One in particular moved me in a way I have never experienced before - through this work, the Lord showed me that His forgiveness was all that I needed. Nothing that I do for Him matters - it's all about Jesus. A year later I saw the painting again in another gallery and was just as moved. I whispered a prayer to the Lord that if it was possible, I would like to have this painting. To make a long story short, I received this as a complete surprise for my birthday and it JUST FITS in my livingroom where I enjoy it every day. (Interestingly, this replaced a watercolor of a girl with very sad eyes offering a bouquet of flowers . . . again, it's all about what Jesus has done for us, not what we do for Him!) And no, it's not a shrine; it is a reminder of the sufficiency of God's Grace - I guess the Lord knows I need this! Remember that you are the instrument in the Hand of the Master! May the Lord speak to many through "your" art! mommapbs |

2458 | Mass before Jesus,how they get salvation | Heb 11:2 | Mommapbs | 148787
Greetings William - all men are saved from the wrath of God against sin when they are declared righteous - or without sin - by God. All men are justified or declared righteous by God in the SAME manner, BY God's Grace through faith (Eph 2:8) - read all of Hebrews 11. Men of old gained God's approval just like we do - they believed God and it was credited to them as righteousness - they were declared "not guilty" of sin. Jesus is the fulfillment of the promise of God - imo, it is much easier to believe God because of Jesus than it was when there were only promises. Believe in God, believe also in Me (John 14:1) said Jesus - One and the same with the Father. One Lord over all from the Old Testament to the present. Blessings, mommapbs Behold, the LORD'S hand is not so short That it cannot save; Nor is His ear so dull That it cannot hear. Is 59:1 |

Hebrews 11:1-2 tells us: "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval." Read this chapter in Hebrews! Praise God, He has given us the fulfilment of His promise, Jesus, for us to have faith in today! Blessings, Mommapbs |

2460 | Tell about Abraham's devotion to God. | Heb 11:8 | Mommapbs | 62674
Greetings Controling! With respect to your questions, Gen 21 is about dealing with the consequences of a LACK of devotion to God. Hagar and Ishmael were the result of Abram's LACK of faith that God would do as HE promised!(See Gen 17) Sadly, the world continues to reap the harvest of Abraham's disobedience today. I hope this helps. Blessings, Mommapbs |
