1 | Can a believer lose their salvation? | Not Specified | Mary M | 224149 | ||
My question concerns the loss of salvation. I've asked some of my believer friends and have now become aware that this topic can be a hot one. So, here it goes. My specific example, which I draw my question from, refers to Judas who hanged himself after his betrayal of Jesus. When Jesus chose the twelve apostles, he knew them as only their creator could. Yet he chose Judas anyway and gave him the same privileges as the others despite knowing he would be betrayed by this man. This man received salvation just as the others did. He knew Jesus, saw his miracles, heard his teachings and walked with him everyday. And since he hung himself after betraying Jesus, he knew what he did and couldn't live with himself or face the others. Now, did Jesus forgive Judas? Did Judas lose his salvation? On a more general note, can your average struggling believer lose his or her salvation? |
