Vs 1-I have no needs, because the Lord will provide them all; therefore I am content with what I have, because the Lord said He would never leave nor forsake me. vs 2-He supplies all my needs, including spiritual, emotional etc. We, as born-again believers in Jesus Christ, belong to Him. We are no longer our own. We have been bought with a price. And it is Jesus who is the Author and the Finisher of our faith, and He will correct us when necessary. We are His responsibility. He sancitifies us. Green pastures are all the areas we need to go to continue to grow that the Lord will lead us to. Whether we will receive and eat is up to us, yet He will continue to lead to mature us until we are with Him. He also leads us beside still waters--times of refreshing, peace, and stillness; and again it is up to us to drink. To drink of the Lifegiving water He gives thru His Holy Word, thru quiet times with Him, thru meditation, prayer and other means of being filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus Himself is the Lifegiving Water, as He told the woman at the Well. He gives us drinks of life giving, living water as we do the above. vs.3 He restores our soul. Restores us to a right relationship with Him after we have sinned, or drifted away. He and His Word is like a balm, healing our inner most being, returning us to Him, wooing us back to Himself. He Loves us and knows what we really need- The Father Himself. He leads us in paths of rightness for His Names' Sake, because it is Him we represent, and His Name is at stake. We are His witnesses, and what we do or not do, as His representative reflects upon Him and the reality of Him. An Old testament verse says "I do not this for your sake, but for My Holy Names sake." He doesn't want His name polluted, so He leads, guides, corrects, and grows us to be the Whole, Happy and Productive Christians He wants us to be; and He will receive the Glory, and others will see what a wonderful God He Is! vs 4-Even if I walk thru dark times that cause me alot of pain and agony and confusion; dark times of sorrow, whether for myself or someone dear to me, I need not fear because He is always with me, and won't allow me to bear more than I am able to; realizing also that these times come to everyone, and that they are common to everybody at some time or other, and are necessary for continued growth to learn obedience to His Word, and to see how faithful God is and that all He says He will do--We can trust Him. I need not be afraid, even if the shadows are to correct me, or lead me into another phase of a better life. He will be there with me and will see me thru. "Weeping may last for night [dark time], but joy comes in the morning. [The sun will shine again on us]. vs. 5-Even while we live, work, play, worship, etc. in the presence of some who would like to see us fail or fall, or worse; God Himself will bless us in varied ways for them to see as we continue to follow Him the best that we can. We are set apart, the apple of His eye, gifted for His purposes, the Bride of Christ, a peculiar people-very special to Him; and His giftings, blessings, etc., will overflow to those around us. My cup of Joy, peace, (fruit of the Spirit) and Love from Him and thru Him will bubble up inside of us quenching our needs and desires and those around us; and even our enemies will take note that we have been feasting in the Presence of God. vs 6-His Goodness and Mercy will always be right there as we live day to day, touching our lives in unexpected, necessary, and delightful ways. (All things do work together for good to them that love God, to those who are the called according to His Purpose)(Rom). The Blessings of God, His Mercy, His Love, and all the wonderful promises that God has promised us will be a part of our lives as His children forever. We are His temple, His Kingdom is within us. His Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom. Jesus is the Cornerstone, and we are built upon it. It is a sealed Covenant, and we will be with Him forever. |
