1 | Size of Jerusalem when The Promised Land | Is 60:1 | GSPLBARI | 72464
bonnie, I think I messed up and didn't send this right the first time. If this is a repeat, forgive me. When Abraham was coming home from a battle, he met Melchisedec, a Gentile king, of Salem, (Jeru- salem), and was a follower of the Most High God. He is mentioned again in Hebrews Ch. 7 V:1. Salem (Jerusalem), was a city even then big enough for a king in old Canaan, long before the Israelites ever thought about going there, although God had promised Abraham an inheritance. It has been around a long time, although under different names. |

2 | Faith, hope, love - which is the least? | 1 Cor 13:13 | GSPLBARI | 72459
Taleb, I believe that hope is the least, although they are all important in the life of a Christian. The only one of the three that will continue on into the millenium and on into heaven is love. Faith and hope are no longer necessary. Hope - because we will be in heaven which is our hope. Paul said that if in this life only we have hope we are of all men most miserable. Faith is no longer necessary because we will be dwelling with the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom we now have our faith. Not required as He will be in our midst, leaving only love which will exist for eternity. I firmly believe the Bible is written the way it is because that's the way God wanted us to under- stand it. Faith first because that's the most important thing in coming to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus. Hope is second because after salvation, our hope is fixed on Him, but not before. After hope comes the love that continues for eternity. By the way, look at Hebrews Chapters 10, 11, 12. The chapters correspond with the words, faith, hope, and love. Ch 11-faith, Ch 12- hope, and Ch 13 - love. Jay |
