204 | Where was Lazarus for 4 days? | John 11:11 | Cyclist | 57905
Hi daniel! I will glorify the King of Kings and Lord of Lords who is Jesus Christ! For He did not think of Himself, but, His purpose was to do the will of God our Father, to die for our Sins! Prasie you Jesus Christ! You are Lord! I have read through all of the posts on this subject "Where was Lazarus for 4 days?" By your postings am I to understand that you believe that we simply fall asleep, and, do not exist until the return of Jesus? If so, I submit the following scripture(s): Mark 9:2 Six days later, Jesus *took with Him Peter and James and John, and *brought them up on a high mountain by themselves. And He was transfigured before them; Mark 9:3 and His garments became radiant and exceedingly white, as no launderer on earth can whiten them. Mark 9:4 Elijah appeared to them along with Moses; and they were talking with Jesus. Mark 9:5 Peter *said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; let us make three tabernacles, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah." Obviously Moses and Elijah exist. and Matt 22:32 'I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB'? He is not the God of the dead but of the living." In addition, You say Lazarus was "asleep". As I read through this event in scripture, Jesus tells the disciples "Lazarus is dead". John 11:12 The disciples then said to Him, "Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover." John 11:13 Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that He was speaking of literal sleep. John 11:14 So Jesus then said to them plainly, "Lazarus is dead, Nothing here intended to challenge you, or any other for that matter, just letting you know what I see. Hope to hear from you, and, anyone else that desires to join in, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continaully be in my mouth! |

Thank you Tim! Daniel and Kalos gave some very good scripture references to support their posittion(s) on this subject. It has been a very informative discussion, for me anyway, because of the scriptures contained in the postings. Blessings to you brother. It's always good to hear from you! daniel, I will sing of the mercies of the Lord! I will sing praises to my God! I will sing of His love! I will sing to the Lord! Thank you for reponding to my post. I understand your point about the transfiguration. I am trying to understand you about our being unconscience(sp?), after we are dead, until the return of Jesus. Please, if you will, read and respond to the following scripture(s): 1 Sam 28:3-19 NOTE: Samuel spoke with Saul after Samuel had died. Luke 16:19-16 NOTE: This is Jesus talking about a rich man and the begger Lazarus (not the same Lazarus that Jesus raised from the dead). It appears to me that in the scripture Jesus says "There was a rich man....", meaning that this "did" happen. Matt 27:52 The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; Matt 27:53 and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many. NOTE: If these were to remain "asleep/unconscious" until Jesus return, why then did they appear to many? In addition, you did not respond to this scripture that I posted: Matt 22:32 'I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB'? He is not the God of the dead but of the living." Thanks for giving this your attention. In Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

daniel, Glory be to God who created the heavens and the earth and the seas and all that there in is! I will praise my God! He alone is the creator of things, seen and unsee, blessed be the name of the Lord! I have enjoyed our discussion on this subject. Thank you for taking time to respond. You have done very well in providing scripture references in your posts. At this point, I will agree to disagree with you. It is not my purpose to get into a debate that could become "heated", and, I'm sure you feel the same way. Paul writes: "Own no man but to love one another". Again, Thank you! Blessed be the name of the Lord our God who created the heavens and the earth and the seas and all that there is therein! Blessed be the name of the Lord our God who created all things seen and unseen! All things are created by Him, not by men's hands, but, by God our Father who is to be glorified forever! And blessed be the name of the Lord Jesus Christ who thought not of Himself but gave His very own life for our sins! Sorry forum family, I got a little carried away up there, but, I just cannot contain it! How would you like to be next to me in church!? Please see John 12:32 NASB "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself." AMPLIFIED And I, if and when I am lifted up from the earth [on the cross], will draw and attract all men [Gentiles as well as Jews] to Myself. "will draw all men to Myself" Is the Lord Jesus speaking of every single person that ever did or ever will walk the face of the earth? Is He speaking of all who those who walk the earth after His death on the cross? or, Since this was a mised crowd of Jews and Greeks He was speaking to, is He just simply letting both Jews and Greek know that He will go beyond the Jews to chose His elect? Your brother in Christ David (Decided to remove the Cyclist mask) I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

John, Where ever I am, I'll praise Him! When ever I can, I'll praise Him! I will praise the name of Jesus Christ who died for my sins! When I consider that He loved me enough to not fight back, but die for my sins, my heart is filled with thanksgiving! Blessed be His name forever! Glad you are well! Take a look at "all" in the following scripture. It appears twice. What do you think? 1 Cor 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. I see you had to go to work. Hope you had a great day there. Your brother in Christ, David I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Dear John, To the one and only true God be glory forever! To the one and only true God, Who is love, be glory forever! To the one and only true God, Who sent His Son to die for our sins, be glory forever! To the one and only true Christ, Who gave us the command to love one another, be glory forever! I am concerned that my question may lead us into a public debate that may cause us to push our doctrines, beliefs, and/or opinions. I don't want to put myself in the postition to be asked to leave this forum. I LOVE it here! Your brother, David I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

angel1, I will praise my God from the rising of the sun to it's setting! I sing a song to my God on the way to the house of the Lord... "I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord!" Glory to the Lord our God! Thank you for the nice note! I love your prayer! Here is one of mine..."Father, create in me a pure and a clean heart, and impress your word upon my heart, mind, and soul so that every thought is challenged and brought under the subjection of Christ, so that I would follow your will and not lean on my own understanding." I have so many favorite scriptures! Here is one passage that I love! Oh that our food would be to do our Father's will! John 4:32 But He said to them, "I have food to eat that you do not know about." John 4:33 So the disciples were saying to one another, "No one brought Him anything to eat, did he?" John 4:34 Jesus *said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work." Isn't that POWERFUL! Bless you angel1 Always your brother in Christ Jesus, David I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

217 | What does "In the name of Jesus" mean? | John 14:14 | Cyclist | 56973
Kalos, From the rising of the sun to it's setting, I will praise the Lord! I will always be thankful to my God for delivering me from a life that was sending me to eternal damnation! Praise be to you Lord Jesus for dying for my sins! Kalos, I am somewhat of a fool to worldly wisdom, and, display a certain level of immaturity, as a Christian, in most of my postings. I am thankful to God for the wisdom He has graciously given to me when needed. I must say that in my "narrow mind" that I am somewhat confused by your posting on John 14:14. In fact, I feel somewhat "flogged" because I end most of my prayers by saying "In the name of Jesus, Amen." I usually end them this way though: "In the name of Jesus Christ, your only begotten Son, who died for my sins and the sins of the world, blessed be His name forever." You write: 'Ending prayers with that phrase might do nothing whatsoever to the efficacy of your prayer. I even submit that it might be hurting your prayer, depending on what you mean by the phrase.' It appears that you were quoting someone, were you? This part of the post hurts a little. Is this, or anything else in your posting, inspired by revelation or the Spirit of the living God, or, is it man's wisdom? What about my prayers, and the prayers of countless others who ended their prayers "In the name of Jesus, Amen." and had prayer answered? What about these events in the New Testament where "In Jesus name" was spoken? Acts 3:6; 4:10; 18:16; 19:5; 1 Cor 1:10; 1 Cor 5:4; 2 Thes 3:6. Although I have learned much from postings by you, and, have been encouraged by them as well, I was, and, am sad, a little confused, and, as I wrote before, feel as though I have been "flogged" for ending prayers "In Jesus name, Amen." Are these postings of the spirit of edification? Are they of the spirit of God? Are they "In the name of Jesus"? I really enjoyed Hank's posting on "The Lord's prayer". Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |
