sniper, I will sing of the glory of my Lord who is Christ Jesus the wonderful counselor and prince of peace! Praise His holy name forever! First of all, are you looking for an argument? You write "Forgiveness is dependent on each person repenting and asking for forgiveness." It appears as if you have answered your original question for yourself. Second, I am not very good at debating or arguing. Third, You write "I think that you have applied these verses out of context." As Paul writes "1 Cor 4:3 But to me it is a very small thing that I may be examined by you, or by any human court; in fact, I do not even examine myself. 1 Cor 4:4 For I am conscious of nothing against myself, yet I am not by this acquitted; but the one who examines me is the Lord. 1 Cor 4:5 Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men's hearts; and then each man's praise will come to him from God." Lastly, I will gladly receive correction from one that has proven to me that they are an elder to me in Christ Jesus. You have not as yet done so. Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

43 | once saved, always saved? | Col 1:13 | Cyclist | 75936
Joe, Blessed be the spotless lamb of God who is Christ Jesus our Savior and Lord who thought not of His own life but gave His life for our sins; to whom all power has been given in heaven and earth! Praise be to Jesus! Thanks for the reply Joe. I just couldn't resist putting in my 2 cents. I will exit the discussion now though. It's not a "hit and run", honest! SUNSTAR (the one who started this thread), If you are still out there. Blessings to you in the name of Jesus Christ! Always your brother in Christ Joe, Cyclist (David) I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

44 | once saved, always saved? | Col 1:13 | Cyclist | 75889
Joe, I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever! I will sing a song of praise in my heart and in my mind to Lord my God the day long! I will sing of His mercy! I will sing of His grace! I will of His loving kindness! Praise be to the Lord our God! Until now I have been able to keep myself from posting on this subjuct because I have seen it come up at least six times in my first year as an active member. Just wanted to add a few scriptures and a little opinion. This is not directed at you or anyone else, just intended to add to the discussion. Rom 11:16 If the first piece of dough is holy, the lump is also; and if the root is holy, the branches are too. Rom 11:17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree, Rom 11:18 do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you. Rom 11:19 You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in." Rom 11:20 Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear; Rom 11:21 for if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either. Rom 11:22 Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God's kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off. Rom 11:23 And they also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. Rom 11:24 For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these who are the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree? This scripture tells me that we can be cut off, but, as the formerly children of promise when we accepted Christ, He is able to graft us back in again. 2 Chr 7:14 and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Here is one passage I really like because when we do fail, many, including satan (I refuse to capitalize the first letter of his name, sorry Ray), develope a "hog" nature (If a one hog has a blemish or an illness all the others nip at it and bite at it to torment it to death.), there are those, I know from experience that backbite the one who failed instead of loving them back into the family of God. Ps 3:1 O LORD, how my adversaries have increased! Many are rising up against me. Ps 3:2 Many are saying of my soul, "There is no deliverance for him in God." Selah. Ps 3:3 But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head. Ps 3:4 I was crying to the LORD with my voice, And He answered me from His holy mountain. Selah. Sorry Joe, I believe I got a little carried away and that is why I have refrain from posting on this until now. Always your brother in Christ Jesus our Lord, Cyclist (David) I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

45 | Can a toddler go to heaven? | Rom 3:23 | Cyclist | 75708
sniper, Praise the name of the Lord Jesus Christ who thought not of His own life but gave His body a sacrifice for our sins! Blessed be the lamb of God forever! First of all thank you for allowing me the opportunity to enter the discussion. A few of us members "hashed" this subject out a few months ago. You may want to do a quick word search and see the postings. I had, and still have, difficulty accepting the fact that no where in the word of the Lord our God is there a verse that reads "All those little children who do not yet understand, or those mentally ill that are not able to understand the preaching of the gospel that Jesus Christ came in the flesh, died for their sins, and rose from the dead shall enter the kingdom of God." Search cover to cover sniper. You will not find it. Oh how I wish it were there! Believe you me I dug out every verse I could find or think of in the debate so that I could have closure in my spirit that infants/babies and little children enter the kingdom of God. The Lord my God has blessed me, as well as many others I'm sure, with a heart that loves and at the same time has a burden for children. A burden which I am very happy to bear. I weep for them. When I see a child no matter where I am my heart reaches out to them and I pray for them in my heart immdiately. Although there is not a verse found like the one I mentioned above, I am comforted by these. John 14:13 "Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 16 John 14:14 "If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. I ask the Lord our God in the name of Jesus to forgive the sins of infants/babies and little children. Luke 23:34 But Jesus was saying, "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." ......... I pray that the Lord our God forgive and have mercy on these little ones for they know not what they do. Mark 3:28 "Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; 18 Mark 3:29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin"-- Does an infant/baby or a toddler have the ability to knowingly blaspheme the holy spirit? John 20:23 "If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they have been retained." I wondered about this verse, but, as it was pointed out to me by an elder "We do not forgvie unto salvation. Only the Lord can do that." AMEN to that! Hope this helps sniper. By the way, how about filling in your personal profile. Always a brother in Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

46 | Why seek healing for this flesh? | Ps 46:10 | Cyclist | 75706
Dear brother Emmaus, The Lord is my strength and my fortress! The Lord never fails! He alone is worthy of all praise and glory and honor! Thank you dear brother for the nice note. As I wrote in my post to mommapbs, I have never asked the Lord for healing for the body He has given me to use. I now know from my dear friends on this forum that I have every right to and am directed to ask for healing in His word (Searcher posted James 5:14). Praise the name of the Lord! I am honored to call you my elder in Christ dear Emmaus. Always your brother in Christ our Lord, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

47 | Why seek healing for this flesh? | Ps 46:10 | Cyclist | 75705
mommapbs, I begin each day on my knees with my hands lifted up and with a heart of thanksgiving I praise the Lord my God! Praise be to Him forever more! Blessed be His holy name! Sorry for the delay in responding to your post which I found to be very helpful and encouraging, THANK YOU! This is the very reason I thank our Lord for this forum family! One other post that really helped me was one from Searcher. He posted James 5:14. I read James 5:13, 14, 15 and was suprised to learn that I may actually be directed to ask for healing of this body that the Lord has given me to use on this earth. James 5:13 Is anyone among you suffering? Then he MUST pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises. James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he MUST call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; James 5:15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. Notice the word MUST in these verses (I capitalized). I haven't asked to be prayed for by the elders of the church nor have I asked the Lord to heal me. Thanks be to God for His word! I called the elders the very next day. I have always prayed for others to be healed but never this body. Praise be to God, I am now free from the pride that has always said "Spend time heal others Lord but don't spend time healing this body" or "Lord if it be possible take the infirmity fom the one suffering and give it to me". What a fool I have been in this! Well, He is very loving and merciful, and, I have recieved correction, hopefully as a good son and and forgiveness and am now asking for this body to be healed so that I may continue the work He has for me to perform on this earth. A work am so very honored to perform for Him! Blessed be His name forever! Always your brother in praise and in prayer and in the loving spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in mouth! |

48 | Why seek healing for this flesh? | Phil 1:2 | Cyclist | 75319
graceful, The praise of the Lord our God is in my heart continually! Blessed be His name forever! Thank you so very much for this answer! Sometimes I need to be set back on course. It fills me with joy to know that there is still work for me to do for my Father on this earth! I look forward to this and each following day for doors that He will open to do His work! Bless you graceful! David I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

49 | Why seek healing for this flesh? | James 5:14 | Cyclist | 75318
Searcher, Praise be to the Lord! Bless His Holy Name! I will give thanks to the Lord for this answer! Praise Him! It is with tearful joy that I post this response to you! The scripture you posted, James 5:14, along with your answer really, really helps! James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; Notice the word MUST in this verse. Not only am I allowed to be healed through Christ, but, this verse is directing me (MUST) to ask for healing. Something I have not done. I have not asked for this body to be healed. I have always just prayed that others be healed. Blessed be the Lord forever! Thank you Searcher! Bless You! David I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Dear Forum Family, Blessed be the name of the Lord our God and His Son Jesus Christ forever more! Praise the Lord for His love and mercy and grace! Praise the Lord for He is good to His children! Praise the Lord for His patience with His children! Let everything that has breath praise the name of the Lord! Praise Him from the mountain tops! Praise Him from the valleys! praise Him! It's been quite a while since I've visited. Without going into any long details, I have been very busy! I have a question for those of you who are my elders and my brothers and my sisters on this forum (I pray that those of you whom I consider my elders or Brothers or Sisters know who you are.) Here it is. Even though this body I have been given is in great shape (I spend at least ten hours per week excercising it and the doctor tells me "I wish all of my patients were in as good of shape as your are, except for....."), there exists a cuouple of malfunctions. Sparing you all of the details, I was taken from my office to the emergency room on Wednesday morning. Woops! Got so caught up in all of that, I almost almost strayed away from posting my question! WHY SEEK HEALING FOR THIS BODY? Please, please don't get me wrong. I get annual physicals and that on my own, it is not required for my permenant illnesses. And, I do always go to my physician when having problems. When I read the holy word of the Lord my God I so desire to be with Him in His kingdom! Again, don't misunderstand me please, I haven't gone off my rocker, not yet anyway. Why seek healing for this flesh that will not inherit the kingdom of God? I know that the Lord our God has blessed us with some very good doctors, but, I'm having difficulty understanding the purpose. Honestly, it seems sometimes that the closer I am to death, the happier I am because I will be with the Lord forever. Again, I'm NOT CRAZY! Never the less, If here (on earth) is where His desire is for me, then here I am happy to be. Blessed be the Lord forever! I posted a couple of scriptures below. Please I pray you my friends, help me understand through the word of the Lord our God. I am thankful for each one of you! Bless you as you prayerfully consider your answer(s) to me. Your input is very important to me on this issue. Col 3:1 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Phil 1:23 But I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better; I always pray for you my friends. Always your brother in Christ Jesus our Lord, David (Cyclist) I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

55 | Isn't Baptism neccessary for salvation?? | Rom 10:9 | Cyclist | 73222
Dear Hank, It is good to give thanks to the Lord and sing praises to our God! Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and forever more! The Lord our God alone is worthy of all praise! I've only read a few posts from this thread. WOW! It is getting a little HEATED! I'm wondering about those that were on this earth prior to Jesus first coming. These were saved because of their faith in Him. You know, Abraham, Issac, Jaccob, Joshua, Caleb, Elijah, Iasah, David, Moses, and all the other prophets. I wonder, and I am NOT trying to be "CUTE", I take the discussion of the Holy Word of the Lord our God very seriously, I wonder if they were baptized after the fact. I mean, maybe they have been baptized in water where they are at now. What do you think dear brother? David (Cyclist) I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Confucious, I will glorify the name of the Lord our God and His Son Jesus Christ! I will praise the name of the Lord our God the day long! I will sing of His mercies and His grace! Blessed be the name of the Lord! First of all young one, I am in agreement with Searcher. This public bible study forum IS NOT the place for guidance in such matters. You cannot see us. You cannot measure us by our fruits to know if we are faithful stewards and/or elders in Christ because you do not know our works. I've read your personal profile and some of your posts. It appears that you know how to search scripture. Have you done that in this matter? Please go to your Minister or close Elder in Christ. Here is some scripture that may help you: 2 Cor 11:14 ........, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Luke 6:43 "For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit. Luke 6:44 "For each tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a briar bush. Luke 6:45 "The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart. Gal 5:19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, Gal 5:21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Gal 5:23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Gal 5:24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 2 Cor 6:14 Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? In the love of Christ our Lord, David I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

58 | Service to others - service to God? | Matt 20:28 | Cyclist | 73146
Mommapbs, Be exalted above the heavens, O Lord our God; Let Your glory be above all the earth! I will sing the glory of His name and make His praise glorious! My mouth is filled with His praise! And with His glory all day long! OK dear sister, I am going to take a stab at this. This looks like a wonderful and thought provoking subject! You write: "Is service to others the same as service to God?" Answer: Matt 25:31 "But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. Matt 25:32 "All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; Matt 25:33 and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. Matt 25:34 "Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Matt 25:35 'For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; Matt 25:36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.' Matt 25:37 "Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? Matt 25:38 'And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? Matt 25:39 'When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' Matt 25:40 "The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.' You write: "When is it different?" Luke 10:29 But wishing to justify himself, he said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" Luke 10:30 Jesus replied and said, "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead.
