301 | information on speaking in tounges | Acts | Cyclist | 36427
Submarine43, Just to add to the very good answer given by Love Fountain, 1 Cor chapters 12, 13 and 14 address speaking in tongues. Some Scriptures that you may find interesting are: 1 Cor 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling symbol. (KJV) 1 Cor 14:5 I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. (KJV) 1 Cor 14:19 however, in the church I desire to speak five words with my mind so that I may instruct others also, rather than ten thousand words in a tongue. (NASB) Love in Christ Jesus, our Savior and Lord Cyclist |

Leftwich, Please bear with me as I reply to your question. I sometimes come off a little "gruff" but it is never meant that way. I whink that it is wonderful that you spend time in the Word of God and pray to him continually! Keep it up! With regards to your job search; Have you tried searching the internet? I don't know where you reside but have you tried a local job placement service? It might be wise to do a "self inventory" of your skills, abilities, qualifications, and current level of education. There are government programs that will aid you in education if need be. Your never to old to learn. I'm in my forties and still attend a few seminars and a college course once in a while that relates to my position. No offense intended but, Are you seeking The Father for a job and then waiting for the phone to ring? Are you waiting for the job that you want and passing up other opportunities? Are you applying with businesses? When we depend on GOD to guide us we don't always get want we want, including a certain type of job, but what we can expect is that it will be in GOD's plan for us, If we are trusting in Him. Regarding your visions. The first one may have put me in the hospital if I'd had it! 9/11 changed very many, if not all the lives of U.S. citizens. I wept for 2 weeks. Finally, no offense intended, it might help if you explain to the forum your purpose in participating. I noticed that EdB and Hank replied to you and you failed to give them the information that they need to help answer you. I've done searches on numerous topics in the forum and have learned much from postings by both of them. With all due respect to you and especially in CHRIST'S LOVE, Cyclist |

305 | Does anyone know where this verse is? | Bible general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 35537
Hello beth1117n! One very good source for searching for specific scriptures is the Bible Gateway. (httn://bible.gospelcom.net/). You can find just about anything you need or want in the bible in several different translations and in different languages. Searching is easy. You can simply type in a word or phrase. I did a brief search for you but couldn't find the scripture that you are looking for. Hope this helps. GOD BLESS YOU! YOU ARE LOVED! Cyclist |

306 | prayon, would you please? | Gen 6:1 | Cyclist | 35491
Searcher56, Please forgive me. It seems as though my question may have appeared offensive in some way. Please understand that it was not meant to be that way. In the post by Makarios on 2/20 at 3:30 AM I recieved the scripture information that was needed for me to understand that angels cannot not reproduce with humans. Please bear with me as I attempt to explain why I even asked this question because it is important to me that the forum understand my intentions. I have been a "back woods" Christian for many years. In other words, I have had very limited access to such wonderful learning tools as the forum. It is important to me that I study and learn as much as possible about the Word of GOD so that when I share with with others I understand what I am sharing, whether it be salvation through Jesus Christ or events in the Old Testament. On this particular subject for example I have always told others, when they ask, that the sons of GOD were fallen angels. Apparently I have been wrong. This concerns me! I want to go to them and correct what I have told them! Since I cannot, I will pray that the right information is revealed to them. This is my purpose in the forum. If I seem imature in the knowledge of the Bible and in the wording of the questions or answers that I post, I am truely sorry. In addition, If my reason for involvement with the forum is a waste of the Saints' time then please direct me to a web sight that would provide teachings to me that are geared more toward my purpose. I do not want to waste anyone's time and especially do not want to offend any of GOD's wonderful children. From now on if I have questions regarding a subject that is posted I will do a search on it before posting a question, answering a question, or following up with a note. prayon, I hope that you read this note. I Love you in Christ Jesus. If I've offended you in any way please know that I am truely sorry. LOVE IN JESUS CHRIST, my LORD and SAVIOR, Cyclist |

309 | Whole or Well? | Luke 17:19 | Cyclist | 35156
GOOD DAY FORUM! I hope all is well with everyone! Luke 17:12-19 speaks of 10 lepers calling to Jesus for healing and only one of them, a foreigner, returning to Thank him. I'm having difficulty with one word in verse 19. Spending most all of my Christian life in the Old King James version of the Bible, which reads this way "And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee WHOLE." I had always thought maybe, (since leprosy can result in severe disfigurment, especially of the feet, hands, and face), that this one that returned to Jesus to thank him was made whole again. Meaning that any disfigurment was restored to it's original shape. I had thought that the others were healed but maybe not made whole. In the NASB and the New King James version the last word in verse 19 is WELL. I looked up the definitions of both words and the meaning of both of them are different: WHOLE meaning complete, WELL meaning in good health. Any thoughts, facts, and/or Spiritual guidance on this? THANK YOU Brothers and Sisters. Cyclist |

310 | What is 'the fruit of the vine'? | Matt 26:29 | Cyclist | 34795
Dear Brother Tim Sheasby, Thank you so very much for this posting (COL 2:20-3:4)!! Through the word of GOD this matter has been put to rest for me. I have been following this subject since the first posting on 2/13/02 at 4:55 AM and, I must admit, have been a little troubled by some of the postings. Not by the scriptures or factual information but by the failure to edify and uplift one another in some of the postings. Not that I am speaking out against any brothers or sisters in the Lord for I have read some postings from most of you on subjects that I have searched in the forum and have been edified and uplifted. THANK YOU for seeking guidence from GOD and His Word! GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU! Cyclist |

311 | How to reconize and know the holy spiri | Bible general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 34644
wingsofhopeministry, I noticed that this question that you posted to the forum yesterday was still unaswered this morning. I've been praying that GOD would help to provide an answer for this. I am now going to attempt an answer. I do not think that a human explanation can give merritt to the actual experience of the voice of God through the Holy Spirit when we are spoken to inwardly. A few scripture references that come to mind are Job 32:8 "...and the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding". Proverbs 3:5 "..do not lean on your own understaning". Mark 4:11 "To you has been given the mistery of the Kingdom of God." John 10:16 and 10:27 "My sheep know My voice". 1Corinthians 2:5 - 2:16 These verses deal with the fact that the wisdom of man cannot be compaired to the wisdom of God and that our faith should not rest in the wisdom of man. So, when I see what is written in the scriptures I would say that the inward voice cannot be explained with human wisdom or understanding. I will however share with you my experience with the inward voice of the Holy Spirit. I did not know or experience the inward voice of the Holy Spirit until I was born again and received the Holy Spirit of Christ into my life. When I'm spoken to by the Holy Spirit, I know it. It is one of those things that you know it when it happens. The Bible says that God is not the author of confusion. When God speaks to me through His Holy Spirit I am "quickened', if you will. At the moment that it happens I am in full understanding of and experience the Holy Spirit in a supernatural way that cannot be explained. The voice is not a human voice but the true voice of the Spirit of God. When this happens I experience a feeling of being "in tune" with God. Anything that was troubling me, whether in my spirit, my mind, or my body, is completely gone. I am filled with the Joy of the Lord and with a Peace that passes all understanding! You'll know when the voice of the Most Holy is talking to you. He will not confuse you in any way. for He is the Lord our God! In him is Love, Joy, and Peace! Sorry for the lengthy answer. I pray that this helps. GOD BLESS YOU! Cyclist |
