Herman, Do you see the problem with your post? You jump and intermingle topics to the point no one or at least myself cannot follow you. Who was out of his mind? You also place multiple topics inside your post making it unclear which topic you are trying to discuss. The first part of your post, I don't know who you are talking about. The next part, why are you ashamed? Who is not translating the Word of God correctly? You quote four translations that suit your defintion, but refuse to listen or accept anyone that disagrees. No, I'm not an expert on Hebrew, maybe if you provide your credentials, I can take your word that you are translating Job 27:1 correctly. Instead, I show you translations that have proven themselves and they all translated different than the four you listed. Could it be possible that your four is wrong? Could it be that the English language has changed that the correct word in our time is discourse and not parable? Also, why is it when we ask questions about your statements, you never reply with a clear answer, yet several members on this forum have tried their best to give you clear answers to the best of our ability to understand your question. Maybe I'm making the assumption that English is your primary language, it may not be and if so I apologize, because you may be doing the best you can with the skills you have (wish I could speak multiple languages). If I seem a little frustrated, I am, which is my problem. I don't mean to offend you, just trying to understand what you are asking, but I feel like I keep beating my head up a gainst a brick wall. Usually that it is a good sign that I need to step back and let others on the forum attempt to answer the question(s) who might have a better understanding on what you are asking. Sorry I couldn't be more help to. Brad |

42 | Why did god make man in it's image? | 2 Cor 3:18 | BMyers | 233950
I would rephrase your question in my mind to say why do humans look like God? God was here first and decided to bless us as humans with His image. Now discussions have been had does that mean physically we are like God? Does it mean we were created with a soul, mind, and body? The discussion can take many directions and have heard good sermons bringing up both points. Ultimately our creation as humans is to glorify the Lord. Why did God chose this form or humans to be blessed like this, when you get to heaven you can ask Him, if you still find the question important. I know myself, many things I ponder know will become a whole lot less important when I lay my eyes on Him. Brad |

43 | Job 27:1 | Job | BMyers | 233948
And Job again took up his discourse, and said: (Job 27:1 ESV) Moreover Job continued his discourse, and said: (NKJV) And Job continued his discourse:(NIV) Then Job continued his discourse and said, (NASB) All are verse 27:1 of job, looks to me like Job was continuing his speech. Brad |

44 | Exo 12:29 | Ex 12:23 | BMyers | 233946
Herman are you talking about Isaac Newton? "Newton was not an orthodox theologian. It has long been known that he denied the doctrine of the Trinity, that central pillar of orthodox Christendom" (On which, see Frank E. Manuel, The religion of Isaac Newton (Oxford: Clarendon, 1974), 57-63; Richard S. Westfall, Never at rest: a biography of Isaac Newton (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 1980), 310-20 Brad PS-Yes, I do believe the Bible, no I don't believe Job is a parable. |

45 | Ex 12:29 | Ex 12:23 | BMyers | 233937
No Herman, I disagree with you and the book of Job being a parable, please explain why you think it is a parable? So Herman, are you saying that Jesus did not cast demons out? The disciples did not cast out demons? Are you saying the Scriptures are not true? I went to the link you provided and it sent me to various links to different libraries, so what article or reference material are you referring to? Are all the following passages false then? Matthew 9:32-33; 12:22; 17:18; Mark 5:1-20; 7:26-30; Luke 4:33-36; Luke 22:3; Acts 16:16-18. I guess you have not read some of the same articles and books that I have which state that demon possession and being demonized is still alive today. Herman, do you believe the Bible? Brad |

46 | God, brings wicked to destruction | 2 Tim 2:15 | BMyers | 233927
I'm glad I'm not the only one confused by this, I read it several times, but have I;m confused by what he is trying to state. It almost appears that Herman is trying to state God is evil because He will bring just judgement in the end that leads to destruction of the sinners, but I don't want put words into Mr. Herman's mouth. 47 | Ex 12:29 | Ex 12:23 | BMyers | 233926
And the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD. (Job 1:12 ESV) Satan is the one who tested Job. God allowed it. Job's friends were sure he had sinned and that is why, but they were proven wrong (Job 42:7-9). You do understand that the OT people viewed anything bad coming from God as punishement for their sin, which Job shows this not to be true. Brad |

48 | ... | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 233906
God wasn't the adversary, Satan was Job 1:12 is where God allowed Job to be tested just as Christ was in the Gospels. So yes, Job and Christ both was tested by an adversary, not God. James 1:13 Brad |

49 | bogeyman satan | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 233905
Well the first known use of bogeyman (various spellings) is 1890. The term was generally used to scare children into being compliant with parents or adults wishes. There are regional bogeymans with various characteristics, all with the purpose of scaring children into being compliant. I don't think Rev. 12:9 proves that there is a bogeyman, yet Satan does try to get compliance by any method possible, fear, deception, lies, in this manner Satan and the bogeyman are a lot alike. 50 | why God changed names of peo | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 233900
Unlike today, names meant something in Biblical time. Abram means exalted father, where Abraham means father of multitude. When it comes to Sarai and Sarah, I can't answer, because to my understanding they both mean the same thing. Someone more knowledgeable on forum might be able to answer. Brad |

51 | led by the Spirit or by the adversary? | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 233897
I'm not sure I'm following your train of thought. You have pointed out the simple fact that Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John were all written by different authors and each author is addressing his letter to his intended audience and included what was important for that audience. Nothing was contradictory, so I'm not sure what you are asking. Brad |

52 | was john beheaded before or after crusif | Matt 14:12 | BMyers | 233768
Matt 14:12 indicates Jesus is still alive. The traditional date given for John's death is AD 28 and Jesus death date AD 30. Understnading that their are two different timelines, some placing the the death of Jesus at AD 33, but both time lines have John's death before Jesus. Brad |

56 | following false profits | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 233216
On the right side of the forum there is a box labeled "Bible Text". Inside there is a space where you can type in a word or phrase and it will locate everywhere in the selected translation that the word or phrase appears. It came back with 16 hits for me when I typed in false prophets. Hopefully that will help you research the issue you are trying to find information on. Brad |

60 | Enoch and Elijah didn't see God yet? | John 3:13 | BMyers | 232516
I still disagree with your understanding of the Scriptures. To make John 3:13 fit into your understanding, you have to disregard the other Scriptures that clearly state these individuals did not die. I have spent some time this evening reading in commentaries, books, and different study Bibles just on John 3:13 and NONE of them come to the conclusion that you have. On page 282 of Figures of Speech Used in the Bible, "It does not deny that men like Enoch and Elijah had been taken up by God, which is a very different thing." (If I knew how to type all the Greek characters and such I would of put in the whole article, which is interesting.) As far as 2 Chronicles 21:12-15, that is easy, mail service is bad today, what do you think it was like back then! (Just a little humor, my wife is a mail carrier.) Realistically, reading in commentaries, the experts don't agree. It could be the date of his chariot ride occurred after the letter. It could be he sent the letter then was taken up, not like the letters were delivered quickly. So the letter is a non-issue in my book. I don't pretend to be a Bible Scholar, I only wish I had more time to spend reading and studying the Word. Although I do like a good conversation like this that gets me digging and piling up books all around me. I will still have to respectfully disagree with you, but unfortunately I just don't have the time or skills to get in-depth. Off to bed, have a long day tomorrow. Brad |
