I don't remember a particular scripture that says when hell was created. Doing a little research on the word hell, shows that in the OT KJV translates Sheol and Hades as hell. In the Greek the word Gehenna is translated into hell (Gehenna means vale of Hinnom). OT there was children sacrifice going on in that location until King Josiah put an end to it in 2 Kings 23. In the NT it was a garbage dumb just outside of Jerusalem. All the waste was thrown there and burnt. As you can imagine there were maggots and other nasty bugs/creatures there consuming the waste. Hope that helps some, maybe someone that has researched the topic a little farther than I can enlighten both of us. (Eph 3:9 ESV) and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things, |

344 | The Blind leading the blind | Mark 8:18 | BMyers | 210833
You are correct. Steve and I talked offline and he is correct, even though I was trying to make a funny, tone is hard tell when in a written format. Sometimes my fingers go quicker than my brain, but appreciate the fact that people are willing to question what I post. Like I stated to him, if I don't have a good explanation for what I post, then I shouldn't be posting it. Should have left the split personality off the post. Brad |

345 | When did Moses send his wife to Miidan? | Ex 4:25 | BMyers | 210829
Sorry, I see you already found the discussion. If you look at post 210803 by Nolan (Makarios), he has a list of the scriptures. Based on the scriptures, we can make a guess when Moses sent here back (after Exodus 4:25), but the scripture doesn't say when he did. |

352 | Most accurate translation of Bible? | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 210811
I thought I would toss in my two cents. I have both the NASB and the ESV. The ESV is easier to read than the NASB and I have bought the whole family their own ESV so we can all read out of the same version. The downside to the ESV, since it is newer translation there is a limited amount of additional resources built around the ESV (although the new ESV Study Bible is awesome!). As others have already stated, if accuracy is the number one goal, then the NASB is the 1st choice. ESV is good, but it is not number 1, that is held by the NASB. |

354 | A difficult question | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 210520
I have found researching the Bible to be a fascinating and faith building study. Being raised in a Christian home, I just always took it for a fact the Bible was God’s Word and never crossed my mind to think anything less. As I grew older, I found myself like you, unable to answer the questions that were proposed to me about the Bible and the origin of it. I read several books on the Bible and the history of Christianity. The more I learned about the Bible and how it has come to exist in its modern format, the more confidence I have in it. Here is a few of the book I have read on the Bible What is the Bible All About? Halley’s Bible Handbook How We Got the Bible |

In the Crossway Illustrated Bible Handbook on page 233, it has 18 Messianic prophecies listed. The title is "Some Messianic prophecies" so that would leave me to believe tht there is more than 18.
357 | God answered that is enough about this | Deut 3:26 | BMyers | 209780
NIV: Dt 3:26 But because of you the LORD was angry with me and would not listen to me. “That is enough,” the LORD said. “Do not speak to me anymore about this matter. (Deu 3:26 ESV) But the LORD was angry with me because of you and would not listen to me. And the LORD said to me, 'Enough from you; do not speak to me of this matter again. |

358 | Who addressed Jesus as his "redeemer"??? | Isaiah | BMyers | 209778
The actual word 'redeemer' I believed is used in the Old Testament. The actions of Christ of redemption occurred in the New Testment. I'm not sure that Christ was ever directly addressed as 'redeemer', yet it wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong. (Isa 63:16 ESV) For you are our Father, though Abraham does not know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us; you, O LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is your name. |

359 | Look or see others in heaven | Matthew | BMyers | 209529
(Mat 22:23 ESV) The same day Sadducees came to him, who say that there is no resurrection, and they asked him a question, (Mat 22:24 ESV) saying, "Teacher, Moses said, 'If a man dies having no children, his brother must marry the widow and raise up children for his brother.' (Mat 22:25 ESV) Now there were seven brothers among us. The first married and died, and having no children left his wife to his brother. (Mat 22:26 ESV) So too the second and third, down to the seventh. (Mat 22:27 ESV) After them all, the woman died. (Mat 22:28 ESV) In the resurrection, therefore, of the seven, whose wife will she be? For they all had her." (Mat 22:29 ESV) But Jesus answered them, "You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God. (Mat 22:30 ESV) For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. |
