1 | Do Jesus and Paul agree on salv by faith | NT general Archive 1 | ::LatterRain:: | 81162
Hello Reilly1041, Although we are saved by faith, we must keep in mind what is 'true faith'. James 2:26 says, "For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead." Although we are saved by faith, true faith will birth works. The works are not what gives us salvation, but the Word of God makes it plain that faith without works is dead faith. |

3 | Where Angels seen visibly? | Gen 19:1 | ::LatterRain:: | 85052
There are quite a few references of angels being seen visibly, but I think this is one of the most clear. Genesis 19:1 says "It was evening when the two angels came to Sodom. Lot was sitting at Sodom's gate. SEEING them, Lot rose up..." (my emphasis). Also, a New Testament reference would be Acts 12:6-9. This states that (1) the Angel struck Peter and woke him up, (2) Peter followed the angel, (3) He had no idea that what the angel was doing was really happening; he thought he was seeing a vision. Although he thought he was seeing a vision, the angel was visible there leading him. |

4 | Disciples Killed Hung Upside Down Cross? | John 21:18 | ::LatterRain:: | 85078
“Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were younger, you used to gird yourself, and walk wherever you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will gird you, and bring you where you do not wish to go. Now this He said, signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God.” (John 21:18-19) We are told from Church history that Peter was crucified on a cross upside down because he did not consider himself worthy to be crucified in the same way as His Lord. |
