Is there scripture which states women cannot or should not perform baptisms? My mother performed the baptism on my daughter and my future mother-in-law has made a statement that it doesn't matter what I believe is right but what the Bible says is right. She said she "just doesn't believe it's right". Thank you for your assistance because this has just crushed me. It was a wonderful moment and I don't want it tarnished if she's incorrect in her interpretation. | ||||||

Hi sagindiana, Welcome to the forum! There are no scripture passages that admit to anyone performing baptism as any other gender than male. Nor will you find just anyone administering baptism. There are specific biblical reasons that churches take care that the subject of baptism is appropriate as well as the one who performs the baptism. The purity of the church is essential.
