Hi, Rriggs... welcome to the forum! Do you really mean "the law was done away with?" Even the the passages you mentioned are talking about how the law operates, not that it is eliminated. Christ said it will be easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for even the tiniest part of the law to pass away (Luke 16:17). How might you reconcile that passage? Yes, that is a better turn of phrase. We are not suject to it because the law has been fully satisfied through Christ. Of course, the moral aspects of the law still define how one lives righteously. Again, God gives us the ability to abide by that law. That is, for example, after salvation we find that we are no longer prisoners of sin. Now we have the freedom to sin or not!
