The Divine institutions given to man by God as revealed all through out Genesis and on through out His word are: 1) Free will: (Gen 1:26,27 and Gen 2:7,16,17) With that free will we either honor God, or deny Him. 2) Marriage: (Gen 2:17-24) God created Adam from the dust of the earth, but God created Eve from Adam's side, because that's her place as his helper.(Gen 2:18) Not behind him, or in front of him - but right next to him. And Eve is Female, not another male... just for clarification. 3)Family: (Gen 4) The family comes after the marriage, but before the church. 4) The Church: (Exodus 25 and 26) God's people now free from Egypt, make the Ark of the Testimony, and the Tabernacle, acknowledging God's presence among them. Solomon would later construct the first Temple in Jerusalem, and the early Christians would hold "services" anywhere and everywhere - because "church" is not about stacks of rocks with pretty windows, it's about the gathering of God's people to honor Him and study His word. 5) National sovereignty: (Deut 30:20) Of course, there are ample verses and accounts of nations and governments beyond Israel claiming the Promised Land, but it's safe to say this Divine institution does not preceed the other four. So, I don't mean to sound too contradictory to the earlier proclamation - but God's Word DOES show us these priorities. Abounding in His grace, XRing Zeph 3:17 |

Hi XRing, Welcome to the forum. I appreciate your Zeph 3:17 reference and hope that you feel that the Lord is in our midst here. I trust that He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy. Question: Which version would you go with for Zeph 3:17? NASB: "The Lord your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior." [Marginal note, Lit. A warrior who saves] NKJ: The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save;..." Again, welcome. I am sorry to get off the thread's topic already so may I just say that God should be in the midst of all of our activities and has taken away the judgments against us. Thank you, Ray, for the thoughtful greeting. The Zeph 3:17 scripture wasn't intended to be a part of the post, but simply a cherished scripture to go along with my name - a "signature" if you will. I apologize for any confusion that may have caused. As for preferred translation, I like both you listed. Afterall, God's character and nature as "Mighty One" and "Victorious Warrior" are synonomous. Even Exodus 15:3 - in the Song of Moses - YAWEH is called "a man of war." I am thoroughly in awe and filled with wonder at the majesty and power of such a Mighty God, who is yet so gentle and loving. I guess that's why I love that verse! Abounding in His grace, XRing |

Hi XRing, I understood that it was your signature verse. I just wanted to talk to you about it more than the thread topic. You don't necessarily know me, so let me say that I would look at your capitalization of Victorious Warrior as another option to the NASB "victorious warrior". But for me, I go with the NASB and appreciate the Exodus 15:3 reference that you gave also where your "a man of war" is translated "a warrior". It has been good hearing from you tonight.
